My favorite Auron line is actually when the party is stuck below Makalania Temple after the incident with Seymour: "A Summoner's power flows from the Fayth, not from the temples and not from Yevon."
im trying to get past the ice temple after falling from the bridge...back when i had the game for ps2 i managed to get all the way to gagazet and got stuck at semour and his undeadness... but i dont remember that quote atm....maybe i just missed it or something...maybe forgot
The quote is "The fayth are the ones that give power to the summoners. Not the temples or the teachings. If the temples try to stop us...then we will defy Yevon if we must." This is one of my favourite Auron lines because it reveals quite a bit about him and foreshadows towards what we learn about him much later in the game and about his past. It's interesting to note that everyone in the party misunderstands what he says and that he had just provided a very vital and truthful piece of information that is relevant to the pilgrimage and their current predicament of "killing a maester".
God, this game. The music, the vocals, the gameplay, the story, the characters, the plot twists, the lore, the emotion, the setting, the CGI, the cutscenes. I had never played anything like it. Still so hard to even watch footage of this game due to the nostalgic feelers it creates. Thanks for posting.
The actress who did her voice made Yunalesca sound very manipulative. All these years, I couldn’t tell why her voice is always like someone who’ll lure you into a trap! 😅
Now as an adult I understand scenes like this more. Yunaleska solution is very realistic and she believes it to be the only way to help the people, and I cant really blame her because Sin is like a immortal God who can destroy everything whenever it feels like it. If that existed in our world, the government would also do something similar to try and keep people from going insane. Luckily for Yuna she got Tidus and Auron, who were there to convince her to not give up and refuse Yunaleskas solution.
This scene was incredible. I still get chills watching it. FFX was just remarkable. It had flaws sure. But this is one of my favourite games of all time
So many incredible moments in this scene but something overlooked - I can't see anyone in the comments mention it - is Kimarhi is the 1st one to step forward after Aurons battle cry - zero hesitation, doesn't care about the earth shattering revelation or having to face Yunalesca.. simply put "Yuna needs Kimarhi, Kimarhi protect Yuna" - sums up the character perfectly.
Break the cycle. I think The whole story of ffx is so inspirational. Even when you are cast out or told you were never meant to be anything, prove the doubters wrong. Prove everyone wrong and do the impossible. Break the cycle.
I always loved how it got super choppy and glitchy, made me feel that this is where the cycle breaks, and everything needs to adjust for the new timeline.
Auron - Got "Killed" then stood back up as he tries to escape Yunalesca then reaches the Inn in the middle of the snowy field where he succumbs to his injury and died. But he stood back up again because he refused to die then went to sin, ride atop him where he probably fights a lot of sin monsters until Jecth gained momentary control so they can fetch Tidus in an alternate dreamworld.
God, the man was made of pure Badass! But even more so, I loved how he tells Tidus and Wakka that he’s just a man. A man that was no older than they were at the time, who lost a lot, but gained a sense of purpose after dying.
I cannot tell you the amount of times as a kid thats I had to replay this scene as I kept losing to yunalesca. I ran from nearly every battle instead of training my characters as I wanted to advance in the story.
Do you think Auron knew the whole time that Yuna would choose to fight Yunalesca? When he says "Now! This is it!" It's kinda like he'd been waiting for this moment the whole game. But how did he know they would fight Yunalesca?
As Auron himself said when he was asked whether he knew this was going to happen, and if he did know, why didn't he say something earlier: "If I had told you, would that really have stopped you from coming?" Yuna is Lord Braska's daughter. Auron knew exactly what Yuna would do. The heroes of Spira are completely predictable.
@@SuperSupersoda I don't know about that. I think it was referencing the fact that he knew what the final summoning was and they wouldn't be too happy about it. Auron is like a character in a after story, being the second MC or the MC's bestfriend, in an alternate bad ending sequel story where the MC passed away tragically after trying to save the world. How he is left to pick up the pieces. To continue his friend/the hero's legacy, to honour his old friend's dying wish and memories. Kinda like rayleigh from one piece. But more like zoro's vibe if luffy fail to become pirate king and he is teaching luffy's son to keep the voyage going, to find the one piece.
Auron is one of the best characters in therms of booking and story. Really amazing. I bought the game because I played the game way back in the day. And the moment I saw him I said to my self. I need to buy this game!
Yunalesca should have been named SOPHIA, since she was clearly based on FF6's Goddess Sophia (along with fellow Warring Triads - Fiend Sephiroth and Demon Zurvan). This would have cleared her to become a summon in future FF titles.
I'm sorry, but this scene belongs to Yuna. I love Auron's speech, but it just adds to the spellbinding speech about false hopes Yuna gives. This is her moment.
I think an Unsent can use the pyreflies to make themselves look older. Since they don't age eventually people will see that there is something different about them. Who knows when Yo Mika actually died.
Idc what anyone says. FFX had the best story and most memorable characters that made complete sense out of the all Final Fantasy games. I even remember all of the people you meet on your journey.
I love how Auron just keep pushing them to get to this spot. So they could learn the truth first hand. Because he knew they would only understand when they got here!
2:51 The important thing is Auron isn't just telling them what's up right now He's talking from experience. That was definitely the thought he had when dying. "Die and be free of pain, or live, and fight your sorrow". He chose the latter even though he died
Auron's quote is mostly just repeating what Yunalesca said 30 seconds earlier. It's an epic moment, but Yuna's speech beforehand is what really impressed me.
I love this scene, but I can't help but think: what if we could actually choose the path ourselves. What if we could choose who would become the Final Aeon (or choose noone) and depending on that choice you would get different endings. Would be insanely cool to see what the Final Aeons based on different party members would look like too.
6 diffrrent bad endings? No thanks. Way too much. 2 bad ending between auron or tidus and then the good ending. But then again with how the story is written, Auron would probably snap at yuna. Maybe.
Here is something to think about. Technically, Tidus is the Final Summoning of the Fayth who is fighting to end the summoner's use of the Final Summoning and he is the summon that helps to end Sin in Spira.
This is completely underrated but, Yuna is the worst party member you can have in the beginning of the game, then she's okay in the middle of the game, but by the end of the game? If you equip her with Nirvana, she's completely and totally overpowered in the late game.
Such a hit usually renders you unconscious. You'll ragdoll to the ground and just hope you land in a non-compromising position - luckily for Aaron he didn't immediately die - just a bit of head trauma and internal bleedings that's spell a slow end.
Anyone know if there's a significance to the weird visual and audio effect that happens around the time of "Auron's quote"? Is their insistence on breaking the cycle literally breaking spacetime?
this along the macalania kiss and the ending, are the top 3 scenes of the game. too bad the HD remastered killed yuna's facial expression (this is one of the scenes where it's noticeable the most)
i assume the interrupting static while the characters talk, is symbolism that the game has no idea what path they will choose. the game is confused. why the hell would you choose to live a life of despair? the computer programming cant understand human emotions.
@@Enclosure_2k I have yet to play any FF game besides a Chronicles/Tactics demo on Wii (despite KH being one of my favorite series) but I definitely will someday! I try to manage one RPG at a time and right now I'm finishing the first Xenoblade and then maybe jumping into 2 before 3 comes out in July.
I can't believe we're going to fight Lady Yunalesca. Gimme a break. You can always run. Hah! I'd never forgive myself, no way! Not if I ran away now. Even in death, ya? My thoughts exactly.
You only slowly realize that while progressing through the game that Auron is actually the main character and not "you" tidus. You are here to finish Aurons story and give him rest. A dead main character who couldnt achieve his goal... comes back to guide you so you can finish what he started.
And yet, They wouldn’t have been able to finish this story without Tidus. He had to be there to subdue his father. All Three were important. The Story belongs to Yuna, Tidus, and Auron. For their story is One and the Same!
If Auron had really died 10 years ago yuna would have been just another summoner on her journey, with kimahri as the final aeon (or seymour, after all his shenanigans)

All of FFX happens just so that Auron could link up with the homies and have his salty runback.
He quite literally carried the entire game.
Yunalesca should have been named SOPHIA, since she was clearly based on FF6's Goddess Sophia (along with fellow Warring Triads - Fiend Sephiroth and Demon Zurvan). This would have cleared her to become a summon in future FF titles.
Beautiful :) Yuna's words make me emotional
I'm sorry, but this scene belongs to Yuna. I love Auron's speech, but it just adds to the spellbinding speech about false hopes Yuna gives. This is her moment.
Auron has been practicing those lines in front of a mirror for ten years to give Yunalesca a big middle finger. Good job sir.
I’m still waiting for a game like this again
We might not get anything like this ever again. :/
Considering how much of a pushover Yunalesca's first form was, the fact that young Auron was defeated in a single blow was always jarring to me.
I always sort of figured that he was already hurt.
Maybe because Auron was already weak from traveling there by himself before fighting Yunalesca.
So happy to read some of these comments. This game also had a massive impact on my life.
Especially Auron the Father figure we all deserve.
No time to waste!!!! Let's go!!!!!
We need this in our world at this present time
Auron is still one of my favorite Final Fantasy Characters. Alongside Yuna, Tidus, and Lulu he's one of my favorites to use in battles.
I always found it odd that Auron got older despite being dead for many years.
I think an Unsent can use the pyreflies to make themselves look older. Since they don't age eventually people will see that there is something different about them. Who knows when Yo Mika actually died.
The bond between them is so strong in this moment. Auron inspiring as always. 💪🏼 need to play this again. 😊
Still gives me shivers!
I'm convinced this is "that one scene"
The one all the other scenes were made to give context to
This scene looks so much better on ps2, Yuna is so much more animated.
100%. The facial expressions in this version are all -_-.
Wait that was a famous quote? too bad i had to listen to it a thousand times after dying to this damn boss
LMAOOOOOOOOO
No time to waste. Lets go!!!
I love how exceptionally difficult this boss battle was, it won't for nothing that's for damn sure
And here I thought his famous quote was “jecht is sin”
You mean "Sin is Jecht"
@@fangiscool1 yeah that’s the one alfkgkldlss
"SOME CAN'T WAIT TO DIE!"
@@lynn740 ah Damn that’s a classic too
Idc what anyone says. FFX had the best story and most memorable characters that made complete sense out of the all Final Fantasy games. I even remember all of the people you meet on your journey.
X is in my top 3 games of all time.
0:23 Ah yes, the quote we all came to know and love: "YEEEEEEAARRGHHHH"
I love how Auron just keep pushing them to get to this spot. So they could learn the truth first hand. Because he knew they would only understand when they got here!
2:51
The important thing is Auron isn't just telling them what's up right now
He's talking from experience. That was definitely the thought he had when dying. "Die and be free of pain, or live, and fight your sorrow".
He chose the latter even though he died
I know everyone remembers Auron in this scene but I also love Yuna’s resolution before it .
Auron's quote is mostly just repeating what Yunalesca said 30 seconds earlier. It's an epic moment, but Yuna's speech beforehand is what really impressed me.
For those who didn't use Trio of 9999 and Fire Gems, I hope you didn't suffer too much with this fight.
It took me a whole month to beat this boss.
@@carlycrays2831 Ur hot 😎
My fav Speech & Auron Moment in the game...
0:57 The best view
I love this scene, but I can't help but think: what if we could actually choose the path ourselves.
What if we could choose who would become the Final Aeon (or choose noone) and depending on that choice you would get different endings.
Would be insanely cool to see what the Final Aeons based on different party members would look like too.
6 diffrrent bad endings? No thanks. Way too much. 2 bad ending between auron or tidus and then the good ending. But then again with how the story is written, Auron would probably snap at yuna. Maybe.
Kimahri as the final aeon would have been so fckin cool
This scene still gives me goosebumps when yuna says no-one.
Here is something to think about. Technically, Tidus is the Final Summoning of the Fayth who is fighting to end the summoner's use of the Final Summoning and he is the summon that helps to end Sin in Spira.
Yuna with all that nice dialogue while Auron in the back bottling it in getting triggered at the back.
by the time I got this place... my Yuna was one shotting everything that wasn't a Nemesis
This is completely underrated but, Yuna is the worst party member you can have in the beginning of the game, then she's okay in the middle of the game, but by the end of the game? If you equip her with Nirvana, she's completely and totally overpowered in the late game.
Yup, Yuna is the most powerful mage in the game by far.
I love this scene so much. However, I can't help but stare at Yuna's zombie eyes lol
Zombie doesn't happen until later in the fight.
My sister, I loved her...
This game has the best story in all the series.
The remastered version took away Yuna's facial expressions.
Daddy Auron
This battle and scene has to be my fave in all of FF history
God the chills everytime as young me and older me
Standard JRPG plot, bunch of teenagers use the power of friendship to kill God, this one especially good tho.
Thank god there's a plot this time
????
This...is....our.... story.!!!
Poor creature ,you would throw away hope...well ..
*MEGADEATH
0:33 Maybe if he would have tucked his head he wouldn't have died. Always tuck your head when falling, team.
Such a hit usually renders you unconscious. You'll ragdoll to the ground and just hope you land in a non-compromising position - luckily for Aaron he didn't immediately die - just a bit of head trauma and internal bleedings that's spell a slow end.
Auron casts: Thot begone!
Yunalesca: leaves for the farplane
This scene and You’re not alone from FF9 are the two best in the series.
Then there is Rikku shaking her hips
Anyone know if there's a significance to the weird visual and audio effect that happens around the time of "Auron's quote"? Is their insistence on breaking the cycle literally breaking spacetime?
yap! XD
"Thats our cue. Let's go!"
Wakka had one of the best character development in all of Final Fantasy
the last final fantasy
They made yunas face so soulless here, I remember the original she was much more expressive.
;/
LoL she have five people and a very very pissed Auron to count on to blast that thot
Yea auron was basically an unsent so not a real person
this along the macalania kiss and the ending, are the top 3 scenes of the game. too bad the HD remastered killed yuna's facial expression (this is one of the scenes where it's noticeable the most)
1:23 Tidus in the back with arms crossed just staring at those knockers like, "Damn. Good stuff."
Lmao
i assume the interrupting static while the characters talk, is symbolism that the game has no idea what path they will choose. the game is confused. why the hell would you choose to live a life of despair? the computer programming cant understand human emotions.
Having never played this game before...WHAT is with these camera movements and fade transitions?! Is every scene like this?
No mate. This is unique to this scene! Play the game. In my personal opinion after FFX nothing comes close to this.
@@jaredberry4762 nice ,) with xenoblade.
I played xenosaga and xenogears :)
Tidus always says its his story, but this is Yunas story more than anyones.
"Yuna needs Kimari, Kimari protects Yuna."
I can't believe we're going to fight Lady Yunalesca. Gimme a break.
You can always run.
Hah! I'd never forgive myself, no way! Not if I ran away now. Even in death, ya?
My thoughts exactly.
that yell
You only slowly realize that while progressing through the game that Auron is actually the main character and not "you" tidus. You are here to finish Aurons story and give him rest. A dead main character who couldnt achieve his goal... comes back to guide you so you can finish what he started.
no it's actually Yuna's story. She's the protagonist
Great quote by Auron! I never thought much as a kid, but why is Yunalesca half naked?
To bad he didn't have Auto-life or Auto-phoenix down
I hate this cutscene so much. It's such a punishment if you die here.
