Great video! Enjoyed watching all of your work. Especially love the buildings and stations (I have a thing for London Underground architecture, particularly of the 1930s) and your attention to detail. Hope you do something with that CO/CP stock one day. I've always wanted a layout myself full of lovely flare sided stock! Loved travelling on those as a kid, and my uncle drove them (not jealous at all). Oh! Have another subscription!

Being able to send a train off and it's ages till it returns is always good. On an old DC layout back in the 80s, we had an 8 track staging yard that worked automatically: as a train came in on one track it would stop and the train on the next track would set off in its place, so it was ages before the first train reappeared, which was so satisfying. Obviously, it won't be long until you cut a hole in the new shed, so that a train can do a circuit of the garden before reappearing.😀
Always plenty of projects on the go here haha.

New subscriber here, its great to see someone who's into tuning cars and model railways. I started with trains as a boy, then got into japanese cars at about 17 then found my way back to the railways late 2017. I'm looking forward to the new layout
Your modelling and electric work with all the sounds and points and motorising locos and stuff like that is nothing short of spectacular, both you and Ollie are amazing at stuff like this and I hope to be able to model a proper layout in the future but it probably won't be as good as yours haha, 12 years I've been in the model railway hobby but I've still just got a couple of ovals of oo track on a base board with an old hornby trackmat underneath. But that's probably because my attention has move a g gauge a bit more, but I'm sure it will get done. Anyway enough about me, you and Ollie do an amazing job with everything you do, including the 5 inch gauge 👍😀👍

On the MPD layout, the siding where the diesel is sitting is crying out to be connected to the shed road which has the buffer at the end. I think it would give more flexibility through the shed for movements, maybe a diesel fuelling point at the back of the shed. Great stuff Eric.
Ive fallen into the trap of putting track everywhere too often though, wanted a little space to see whats going on with the crane area ect

Hi Eric thanks for sharing your update, lodge (railway room) in the garden looks good. I first used my 12 by 8 shed for starting out on my layout but with no heating found it freezing in the winter I now have the whole of the loft it gets a little cold in the winter but no where near that of the shed (don't tell the wife I have a electric heater under my work bench in the loft which is ideal whilst doing repaint/repairs etc).

Amazing update eric ,you definitely plant many seeds for me ,as i lived in harefield just off breakspeare road, im going for a underground theme probably ealing broadway as its got underground and local and mainline service and as you said, may use my modellers licence and have a underground terminus at denham, happy new year, i did stick through the whole video as all the other viewers would have done .................tony

Excellent as ever and looking forward to seeing how the layout develops into the logo cabin. If you are talking about Ruislip Lido area, for a bit of fun maybe you could add an 009 Lido Railway!?

Great show! Love the update! What scale are you doing? I am new to the hobby and interested an O scale train set and another engine. One engine is two rail the other is 3 rail. Any idea where I can create a layout? I do know I cannot run either on the same track. I like your low profile buildings. I learned a lot. Thank you for making this video! A great variety and as always informative and entertaining.
The garden building looks the business and you can’t beat an odd hour watching trains going round. What are you going to do for heating ? I use our garage and find a oil filled heater keeps the frost off and I’ve had no track issues.

What lighting system are you using for the Chiltern 172, to get the up to date tail lights?
Its fitted with t0402 SMD’s all wired in to a Loksound decoder. All custom which is the problem as it takes so long
A great idea, selling a normal car to give yourself more railway space. And as a matter of interest, how are you going to transport the new layout to shows?

hopefully the EFE will be here soon. Don’t think I will have sound not straightaway anyway as it’s too expensive for the decoder.
What DCC controller do you use?
I’m currently looking at something better than my hornby elite .
Really I would like something wireless or with a long cable as I have cerebral palsy and I’m getting back problems so would be better with something I can sit back in my chair and still play trains

I use a Digikeijs DR5000 system with a TCS UWT-100 throttle. The throttle is mad money but nothing comes close!

I used london timber buildings. They have a base at the garden centre at stoke mandeville

A stock is a radley models kit. 483 is a converted EFE

For ‘realism’ purposes, fit one end of the class 180 with a broken windscreen wiper as they break a lot.
Ha! The windscreens themselves were bad enough! I did plan to fit a smoke unit as if it was on fire!

i know a lot of us "modellers" have a lot of projects going on and what have you.....-) but i don't know how you have time to "go to work" or let alone time with your gf is a mystery to me....:-)....but hey.... respect.....and a happy new year, too...:-D...

Its just not my cuppa tea, i like modding locos and adding lighting/sound ect which just isnt really doable in N. I did have some a while back but sold it on, aswell as trying out O gauge.
