But then again, if it is to happen it won't happen in a single day rather there would be a million infinitesimal small changes to get the populace accustomed to it. Bharat is the Hindi version. The name Hindi is also related to India thon Bharat. If you want to use native name, name should be Bharatam (in Sanskrit aka. Bharati). Not Bharat (in Hindi).

When we changed Trivandrum back to Thiruvananthapuram, I rejoiced because the word Trivandrum did not have any meaning and the word “Thiruvananthapuram” has an apt meaning. Yes. Bharat is a Sanskrit word. It means, Bhava (expression), Raga (melody) and Thala (Rhythm)or Shiva's cosmic dance. Heck it is not even limited to current geography of "India". Whole world or the universe should be called Bharat.

When I hear Kerala to be named Keralam, Though being from Eastern India, I was happy that if the name associates with them it should be that way only.
