  • As discussions on India renaming Bharat rife, Advocate J Sai Deepak joins Times Now to shed some light on the possibility and what are the legal hurdles present in replacing the country's name with 'Bharat'. The India-Bharat debate came to the fore after the government addressed President Droupadi Murmu as "President of Bharat" in a G20 dinner invitation, sparking a massive controversy. 'India must singularly use Bharat. The word India must not figure in our official communication as well' says Deepak in an exclusive chat with Kritsween Walia. Watch the video to know what else did he say.

That's how an intellectual and qualified leader must be...
Many people in Indian politics just pull the legs of others to get the PM chair... Nobody focuses on building the nation as it was before invasion and colonisation, Khangress had 65 yrs to rebuild BHARATVARSH but it always did nepotism and corrupt politics....
For the first time in history of Bharat we have a leader and government that Bharat always deserved...
So come, let's vote to BJP and develop Bharat as most powerful country in the world by every means...
Let's make bharat ones again the golden bird in terms of economy and Vishwa Guru in terms of Culture... 🚩🚩

Bharat is the Hindi version. The name Hindi is also related to India thon Bharat. If you want to use native name, name should be Bharatam (in Sanskrit aka. Bharati). Not Bharat (in Hindi).

changing the name of India to "Bharat" seems to be more of a political stunt than a practical decision, and it's disheartening to see how easily the youth are being influenced without considering the broader consequences.
One crucial point to emphasize is that "India" itself is a well-established brand globally. This name recognition has a significant impact on our economy. Losing the name "India" could lead to confusion and potentially harm our international trade and partnerships. Countries like Japan and China have maintained their names without any negative repercussions, and similarly, "India" has a strong global identity. We are recognized as Indians, and our nation is celebrated for its rich Indian civilization.
Furthermore, it's important to note that the name "Bharat" already exists in our constitution, so there's no prohibition against using it alongside "India" or "Hindustan." There is no need to change the official name when it's already accommodated within our legal framework.
Additionally, the financial implications of this name change cannot be understated. It would require a substantial allocation of resources to rename states, cities, institutions, and government bodies. At a time when our country faces numerous pressing issues like poverty, healthcare, education, and infrastructure, this expenditure seems like an unnecessary waste.

BHARAT is the ancient name of the Indian subcontinent including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, perhaps Nepal. Jinnah could use their local language to name their country Pakistan and later Bangladesh meaning country of Bangla speaking people. But people have problem with India to be called BHARAT officially at international platforms where only the word INDIA is used outside regional Indian languages. After independence Burma was renamed as Myanmar

How did we easily /reluctantly accept renaming Bharat as INDIA long ago when the Britishers ruled us and how much was the suffering then?
Now its our own independent country and it's truly a thing of pride and joy to rename it as BHARATH - indeed it's celebration

When we changed Trivandrum back to Thiruvananthapuram, I rejoiced because the word Trivandrum did not have any meaning and the word “Thiruvananthapuram” has an apt meaning. Similarly, I would rejoice if we change from India to “Bharat” because Bharat has a profound meaning, and India has no word meaning. In our school assembly, we always took the national pledge starting with “Bharatham ente naadaanu” meaning “Bharatham is my country”.
l will also rejoice if we change the name “Kerala” back to “Keralam” because the word Kerala has no meaning and the word Keralam has a meaning apt for the state.

    • @indianmilitary
      @indianmilitary Před 10 měsíci +4

Yes. Bharat is a Sanskrit word. It means, Bhava (expression), Raga (melody) and Thala (Rhythm)or Shiva's cosmic dance. Heck it is not even limited to current geography of "India". Whole world or the universe should be called Bharat.

Good Point, Name it regionally, and Bharat in different forms has been used in other languages as well so no problem in that regard as well.
When I hear Kerala to be named Keralam, Though being from Eastern India, I was happy that if the name associates with them it should be that way only.
e.g I call Bangaluru as Bangalore a few fimes but I always try to say Bengaluru. It will take time to adapt but it will.
