  • Hello Hello,
Welcome to my video on the Renault Twingo Iconic edition. This is the third generation of the Renault city car. This Twingo was co-designed with Smart for their current Smart ForFour and both cars share underpinnings and some components.
This Iconic trim was the highest trim level on the Twingo at the time and it was based on the 'dynamique' model. It adds goodies such as electric windows, front fog lights and cruise control. This particular car is finished in Ultraviolet paint and these UV flourishes continue throughout the cabin.
The Twingo is a quirky city car for a few reasons, primarily the car is rear engined and rear wheel drive (like a Porsche 911) whereas most city cars are front engined and front wheel drive (think Fiat 500 etc). Additionally, the Twingo features 'Twingo' logos and design silhouette throughout the car.
This car produces just over 110g/km of CO2 and fuel economy can be expected in the 45-50 mpg range. 0-60 is in just over 10 seconds making this an ideal town car.
Thanks for watching CarsofGlasgow, I hope you enjoyed this Renault Twingo video? If you did smash that like button too! Also make sure to check out my 2nd generation Twingo video as well as my Smart ForFour video!

I ran a 90tce dynamique for 3 years, loved it to bits and it's the car that I have ever missed

Wat a cheeky wee fun city car, it actually seems quite spacious inside (for what the car is I mean) and quite a peppy wee engine too

The speedometer and the gear knob, say this it's the 70sce not the tce.

Also I would recommend the Tce engine over the Sce engine, much more get up and go. I test drive both and preferred the tce engine and there was not much difference in fuel economy

Since you drove both, maybe a weird question but does it have the 'trilling' humming sound of the typical 3 cilinders, the 4 cylinder gen one twingo had best sound, twingo 2 slightly worse. I managed to hear a TCE static and slow rampup wich was sorta nice, but once you go sporty on it, it seems to have again that typical 3 cylinder sound i hate (as if the exhaust is loose). I like calm motor when you slowly go from base rpm to 3000, who dont have the 'GT' sorta sound.
Either one of these having it would be dealbreaker, 90 tce sounds better for more power (uphill when travelling), or on the highway to gain speed faster, also higher hp usally translates on highway to lower power use.
I had Twingo 1 and loved it, but not sure if the third is for me.
Fiat 500 petrol sound is really GT like, not calm like Twingo 1, i hate it.
