This day, Kevin, YOU are the light at the end of the tunnel. I actually had tears in my eyes watching this as it provided some constancy, some proof of sanity and "normalcy" on this date, in my dwelling in North Carolina in the U.S. Hold steady, mate. This was a godsend today, I’ve got to be honest Kevin, I’ve had my own struggles the past few weeks feeling really low about the the whole lockdown situation. Allowing myself to get involved in different viewpoints etc... I digress, I went for a walk along the Bridgewater today near to where I live with my dog..... came home and saw your vlog which was a pleasure to watch and cheered me up no end..... great to see you my friend and happy new year.

Greetings Kevin, I’m perusing your vast back catalogue of jaunts and as I am planning on moving my boat ‘up norf’ to this very canal in the next few months, I found this series to be valuable. What I didn’t foresee was the anger inside of me… again after reading some of the comments… of which many haven’t aged well (apart from yours that remain like a fine wine) I consider myself a political outsider since 2017, and here’s to folks like Morgoth, Dave Cullen, Thomas Sheridan who without doubt kept me sane during 2020. Happy to see you were in that tribe mind. “What we Had we Held”.
I love the Lancaster. Would be great to visit it again, some day. Yes, my takeaway from the the early 2020's was the majority of the world losing all sense of reality - not sure they've fully regained it yet, or if they ever will.

I was surprised at the number of canals! When I first started watching I thought,"What do you do when you run out of canals?", until I did a little research. You won't be running out any time soon. Very interesting part of England's history. Imagine the amount of earth that had to be moved. Wow!
Yes it is staggering Chuck. About 2,500 miles or thereabouts and all of it dug by hand. Imagine that today, there'd be strikes galore. 😁
After what just happened a few miles from my home I am glad to be able to relax and just enjoy the view.

@@zaxzan I think Kevin is referring to self-censorship. There is much he won't say for fear of CZcams pulling his channel. He doesn't know what CZcams's criteria are, but he doesn't want to take the risk. It's insidious.

Hi Kevin, Your videos have been my mainstay in keeping sane(ish) for the past year. I have been both locked down same as everyone plus shielding also because I got ill a few years back and I’ve got myself on Mat Hancocks mailing list. So when times get tough I go for a virtual stroll along the canal with CHG and Aslan. Huge thanks for everything you have done and for what must be a massive effort to shoot, edit and post these laid back, beautifully produced logs of your life afloat and your own journey back from dark places. When we can move freely once more if you ever find yourself travelling down the Shropie there will be a pint and pork pie on me if I can find you. May your prop stay un-fouled and your blacking never go rusty. Looking forward to the next series.

I’ve been watching hours of your travels since finding them purely by chance on Amazon Prime. I wasn’t even looking for anything like this on video. Having sailed most of my life (weather permitting in North Dakota) I thought I would be overcome by boredom. However, I find now after having watched and researched some regarding the expansive canal systems of Great Britain I could have easily adopted this lifestyle. This is dreamland extraordinaire, even with the occasional maintenance required of living on a narrow boat.
I find myself turning on your videos to calm down and relax after an irritating day or encounter.
Never disappointed with your videos, looking forward to the next one.

We found you about 2 years ago. This winter we bought maps and guidebooks and hope to have our own narrowboat travel this summer. Provided the UK lets US in, and the US is still here....

I went to school in Kirkby Lonsdale and lived in Milnthorpe and would often go to Lancaster. As well as walk along the towpath of the canal. Loved to see the old walk's again. Thanks Kevin. Take care and stay safe.
