I know… but it’s obviously being faked because all I ever hear is how boring EV’s are. The diehard petrolheads obviously know a lot about the ins and outs of daily driving EV’s because they don’t own or drive one.
This is actually an excellent review format. Driving the car with the people who know the most about it and having them explain some of what you're feeling is great. Shoutout to David really asking you to push the car to its limits hah. 10/10.

I disagree, I think it's the opposite of a good format. Manufacturers should not really be involved in the test drive as it introduces bias and the reviewer will not criticize anything in the car with the manufacturer rep in the car. They can explain things to him before he takes the car for a test drive but it's super weird to babysit the reviewer during the entire test drive, beats the whole purpose of a test drive/review
@@timoooo7320 Agreed, it makes it feel more forced. I'm glad the people weren't super forceful and even encouraged him at times to abuse the car, but it still messes the review up slightly. I think he genuinely did love the car though

The hellcat can be made to go faster and the demon 170 blows this away!

i mean it is 250k, price isn't competitive
I drove a grand touring last week, and the acceleration is mind bend it did 0-60 in under three seconds which almost felt like time was warped. I took the same route after the test drive and it was like the roadway seemed longer and more narrow in my personal vehicle.
And Sapphire does it 50% quicker!

This is the first time the exterior of a lucid air has looked good to me
I saw one of these the other day, and I immediately thought it looked good. This is a very large car. Larger than most cars and suv's on the road. Hence all the space.
It's actually smaller than a Model S. It has the interior space of an S Class and the exterior footprint of an E Class.

@@dickwoods536 It's less efficient than the Plaid, probably has worse software and costs $140-$120 more. Obviously it is quicker and is more luxurious, but this doesn't come close to justifying the price difference.
With a high enough price, almost any large company can create an extremely good car and attempt justify it by saying it's more expensive cause it's better".
The important thing is whether it's actually better by a large enough margin to make it an impressive achievement.

@@te-4709 Not on the keyboard or other areas that sweaty, greasy hands touch. And that's not really Alcantara. A streering wheel gets gripped and handled a lot. I saw the Alcantara steering wheel in a friend's Cayman. It's only a year old, and the wheel looks disgusting and worn. There are bald patches on it where hour hands normally are. It looks and feels good when it's brand new, but deteriorates quickly.
I can see Lucid selling a lot of these in Saudi Arabia. Well done Lucid. The Haggerty youtube review / drag race against the Tesla Model S plaid and the Bugatti is the best video I've seen which shows how good the Lucid Sapphire is (it's also funny too).

Great looking car! I was a little disappointed in the rear seating area. For this model, two additional sports seats like the front would have been on point. Maybe some front thigh adjustments like the BMW seats would be cool. Outside of that, I prefer this over the Plaid in so many ways. Plus it's not a Tesla.

Great job! I have a GT-Performance (which they appear to have stopped offering) and the car is mind blowing. The Sapphire is dialed up a bunch of ways from mine. For the folks yapping about price, this is a toy for the kind of folks who order a Ferrari 296 GTS and spec it up to $600K. It's about how cool a toy I can have.

I did Security for Lucid in AZ thats where the car is built too (Although I think Sapphire is built elsewhere). Sapphire already kicked Model S Plaid’s a** 😂

As an investor in stock (from the peak price 😢) I can’t say I’m excited about what they are doing. However, I love the product and have grown to like the designs. Just wish they were cheaper…like their stock 😂
Investor here as well. I sold and took a loss and rebought at a cheaper price and made up for my losses . Now I’m holding long term . Lucid will eventually make more affordable vehicles with different designs and models . Be patient.

@@pwj86772 Lucid is owned 60% by the Saudi Arabian PIF . Moreover black rock and other institutions are also heavily invested. No need to spread unnecessary fear or misinformation. Lucid is just getting started and so far they have the fastest EV on the market. And many more surprises and models to come. Slow & steady wins the race every time.

Great review! It was very funny watching your genuine reactions and excitement. Did you, by any chance see Mark and/or Jack from @savagegeese at Lucid HQ. They mentioned that they were heading to California to do a story on Lucid.
We each had 45 minute sessions, and they were happening over a couple days. I didn't run into Mark or Jack this time, but I have no doubt they were there at some point.

If you went back just a few years and told me there was a 4 door sedan with 1200+hp / 1400+ lb-ft......I woulda laughed.
As an EV owner, I am aware that the power is really precise, controlled and broad compared to any gas engine. That is why a 1200hp EV will pull away from a 1200hp gas car until you get over maybe 150mph.

From what I saw and heard from the narration I like the car. Not ever looking at another vehicle to make a comparison to the car looks like it’s fit and function is very tied together. The acceleration runs were very exciting to the driver so I will give that a good rating there also. The only point that was not mentioned was cost compared to an equally outfitted vehicle.

The exterior makes me think Dodge Charger EV. It's just how I would imagine an All electric Charger to look

You know how sometimes, if you have a somewhat quick car, you can accidentally zoom up to 90 or 100mph accidentally before noticing. I think this car would do that at about 140mph if you weren't careful.
