i watched again because i thought i missed the part wher the drone was chasing the car :-) (i know, i got spoiled lately with the redbull F1 drone that follows Max Verstappen in his F1 car , now that was a milestone for me,this drone was just set up at a place where it could capture a big part of the road and after that they didn't do anything, a drone stays at the same place is you don't do anything :-) buy any dji drone and create this footage yourself in 5 minutes without any experience

@@LoubrielJayneberglot of cars do that, just not production cars. I really do urge you to go to a car meet in Texas or OKC. Street cars with A/C running 6-7 second 1/4s shutting down at 200+mph. This is fast for a production car in terms of performance, but it should be considering the cost of it. If you had no emissions on your ass and a supercar manufacturer had a budget like Rimac and Bugatti, you would have a considerably faster car than the Rimac.

No exaggeration that overhead shot of the speed comparison is the best bit of car-based entertainment I’ve ever seen. No shot in Top Gear, Grand Tour or anything comes near. So hard to understand scale, speed and feeling through a screen and that did everything we needed.
Top Gear had very similar shot when they reviewed Nevera. Check it out in their full length review (there is shorter version that doesn't have that particular shoot).

It's even cooler that it's actually just human tech, Rimac is a human who took us this far while also standing on the shoulders of tech builders before him, and I love that. Humans are kinda badass when they're kind to each other and work together.
MKBHD really gets cars. He's not just a tech reviewer driving a tech car. He could easily be just a automotive journalist and still put food on the table. I'm really impressed with his insights and knowledge of performance terms and the things car enthusiasts focus on. I know he was cool, now he's ice cold.

This car is on a totally different level than the Plaid. Plaid is like a cobbled together party trick with shopping cart brakes - great for headlines, not for actual quality. The only other brand I expect to make something solid like this and performant at all levels is Porsche.

i wonder how this will influence the final design of the roadster 2. i always applaud these innovative, ridiculously expensive and lavish vehicles. that's because eventually, whatever new concepts/inventions made through its development WILL be directly or indirectly applied to vehicles for the masses.
The roadster 2 definitely isn't for the masses which is why Tesla doesn't build it. Price comes down easily with volume but even for the Tesla S, the volume is low compared to the 3 or Y. There won't be volume for the roadster 2, too specialized a car.
@@falklumo i'm actually ok with that. because whatever innovations made in its development will eventually be applied to the Model 3, Y and possibly even the Model 2. at least that is what i hope will happen.

The best part of the Nevera is that Mate Rimac, the CEO, is an such a likable dude. Dude is just an engineer who wants to make cool things, no fanfare, no vaporware. I think there are a few EV maker CEOs that could take notes...
He seems like such an approachable and friendly guy, which I never would've expected from the owner of a performance car company. I was watching his interview with Richard Hammond, and I was shocked by the fact that he just seems like a normal guy

You should be, what they have done is more than amazing, they have by passed every other car manufacturer in battery and general technology, they sit in the number 1 position and the others have a lot of catching up to do. I really hope Rimac produces every day affordable electric cars because they would easily take over the market because of their quality and superior battery technology.

In the overall design of the car, our part is relatively small, but important nonetheless. Hence why it is very cool to see the whole car, because we only concentrated on a very specific part of it. As an aside, I know people make things up on the internet, but I don't think my claim is egregious enough for you to attack me. Perhaps relax a little!

This is the first time I’ve heard Rimac actually pronounced ‘Rimac’ by an American (or UK) auto journalist. Good on ya, MKBHD
I came here actually to leave a comment like “he is a Croatian guy, so it’s supposed to be pronounced…” and Marques pronounced it almost right. I’m shocked! Really, the first English speaking CZcamsr who at least tried to say it correctly.
The only others I'm aware of are Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott when they covered it in the Carmudgedon podcast. Which I recommend if you want to know more about this car

Great video. All the best for those who not only can afford a $2.4M car, but are brave enough to buy it and drive it on the road; I mean, what type of Insurance do you put on something like this? I have no problems switching from ICE to EVs once the charging infrastructure is in place, and if the cost is better than gas. It's good to see Rimac Bugatti merger, it means they'll producing great cars whose tech will be adopted for cars to the masses

The drone shot may be popular, but it's definitely not something you see you too often. Great work!
The Triple F Collection (the owners of the cars and dragstrip used) use that shot fairly often in their drag races (you can see it 1:57 in their recent Chiron vs Nevera video). I wouldn’t be surprised if FFF’s filmographer (Bryce) actually filmed the shot for Marques here.
So yeh, it’s an amazing shot, but it’s more of a Triple F Collection creation than a MKBHD one (and someone no doubt did it before them at some point)... 👍🏻

Teslas aren't that great, they where the first and come with a good amount of gimmicks, while also being extremely cheaply made, theire are better electric cars now, like many old carmakers show
