It turns out today one year ago I was in Ponferrada and my photo app likes to keep reminding me that I'm stuck in lockdown I stead of on the Camino.

Another great video , this day was my worst/hardest day on the Camino , torrential rain, freezing and after watching this I think I must have got lost leaving Foncebadon , it took me ages to reach the iron cross and the walk down the mountain was treacherous .........but still a great memory ..... thank you for all your great work Efren .

I had a very wild experience before arriving at Molinaseca that day. I (and a few other pilgrims) thought we heard someone in the ravine, yelling "HELP!" in English. I yelled back "Do you need help?" (because it was hard to hear for sure) and I got "YES!" as a response. I ran ahead to the town and told some women in the first bar I came to, and luckily one was on the town council and knew just the right people to call. They called in the bomberos, fire department, police, and within 20 minutes I was back on the side of the mountain with the search team, directing them to where I heard the voice. Luckily, a few other veteran pilgrims also heard it, and reported it, so I wasn't the only one. Anyway, they got out a search helicopter, rappelling gear, search lights, the works to look for the missing person. In the end, as the search ended for the night, and the search teams were making a plan for how to do a more systematic search the next day, a local shepherd came in looking very sheepish. He said that he thought people might be looking for him. It turns out, he was on a small foot path on the other side of the ravine, and one of his sheep dogs had run away. The dogs name was Angelina, so with the Spanish g, him saying AnGEL, AnGEL calling for her sounded like Help! When asked why he responded with "YES!" he looked really embarrassed and said that he thought it was a joke. Everyone was super relieved that no one was actually injured, and the emergency services treated it as a really good drill. We ended up staying the night at a B&B in another small town nearby because the albergues were all closed that week.
Thanks for bringing this memory back for me!

When I go back for a second time I really want to stop in Molinaseca. I really loved that town.
