Love this band. These girls are awesome.
Yes, they are Japanese. Formed in 2019 by lead singer ,Mayu, looking for a band to support her . She called a former classmate ,bassist Haraguchi-san. Tamu Murata on drums. Saki (ex-Mary's Blood) and Hazuki on guitars. Originally supposed to be a side project, they decided the line up was too good not to continue.
Because they are all female, they wanted to name the band after a flower.
They just released their 2nd album, Seize the Fate, in December.
If you want to check out more, try Reitei, Revive, Life, Adabana, Style, Oiran, or Seize the Fate.

Nemophila are one of the best bands right now. They started just before COVID and did a lot of covers that are great just to stay in contact with each other and their fans. You can tell their covers are done with pure respect for the artist as they combine a lot of older sounds with their metal. RAITEI (Thunder) was one of their earlier tracks just before DISSENSION worth checking out. Every one of their songs is a killer though. They arent signed by a label so they are generally YT friendly.

Hazuki played the first part of the guitar solo, Saki the second part, who is also very fluent in English. Mayu on vocal's, Haraguchi -San on Bass & Tamu Murata on drums, each of them are multiple instrumentalist. They also have a lot of cover songs, From Kiss in full makeup, Journey, Nickleback, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Pink, and several other's. Even did the minions Banana song..lol. Try their song Life next. It's a total 180 from this one.

Nemophila is a band formed by musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. The lead singer Mayu has a colorful voice, She can sing different styles of music very well. And Nemophila is a diverse band, They do a lot of different genres of rock/metal music.
    I recommend《adabana》as the next🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

Enjoyed watching you discover NEMOPHILA. The band will be touring the US in March. Get tickyets now, if you can.
All the other videos are excellent, but do these two next:
    - Go back to the demo for OIRAN, now their show closer, crested in their tiny studio, to see the member’s unique chemistry
    - Then watch ADABANA, from their latest album , which demonstrates their musical evolution and is just one example of their versatility

My two favorite band (for different reasons) Lovebites and Nemophila (not philia, just phila😁)..They are an amazing band, only together since 2019, but with two great albums out already.. Covid hampered there ability to get out live, but they did a lot of studio work, and covers of their favorite bands..I suggest, Adabana Sieze the Fate, Oiran, Monsters, Rollin Rollin. Also a live in studio version of their song "Life" (english subs) which is very close to their heart, as the drummer was off for maternity leave and they were unsure of her return, so the song was dedicated to her when she returned(all turned towards the drummer) plus it was guitarist Hazukis Birthday

I have been a huge Iron Maiden fan since almost the beginning (The Number of the Beast). The first thing I ever watched from Nemophila was their cover of Aces High. I was already a fan of Band-Maid, Lovebites and a few others so I expected the musicianship to be great. I was, however, very curious how the vocals would be in an Iron Maiden cover. Before Mayu, the vocalist, appeared I was very pleasantly surprised to see Saki in the band since I already knew her from a band called Mary's Blood. Then Mayu came out wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt and began to sing. Her performance soon had me grinning and misty eyed at the same time. She absolutely sang the hell out of that song. I have now listened to many Japanese bands and although Band-Maid and Lovebites are easily my top two, Nemophila is not far behind along with Unlucky Morpheus and Asterism. I think it has already been recommended but if you want to see another side of Nemophila you should watch their video for the song Life. They filmed it right after their drummer, Tamu Murata, had returned from having a baby (her first I believe). Also the guitarist, Hazuki, was celebrating her birthday. An emotional song anyway, it was heightened by the circumstances - czcams.com/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/video.html

I like the clear sound of the song in your reaction. So you can hear very clearly this raw, fu*** driving, hard and incredibly catchy bass sound of Haraguchi-san! Whenever I hear this song again (I heard some hundred times already), I focus on that heavy bass. And btw: Japan now is the "paradise" of heavy rock and metal music. Especially the female musicians there are on a new level: Saki, Haraguchi (Nemophila), Midor, Miyako (Lovebites), Yuki (D Drive) , Sakura Yoshida and more on Guitar. Tamu Murata (Nemophila), Akane (Bandmaid), Haruna (Lovebites), Junna, the amazing prodigy Yoyoka and of course the well established Senri Kawaguchi (followed by her "sucessor" Kanade Sato) on Drums. And then these awesome bass players: Haraguchi (Nemophila), Misa (Bandmaid), and now Fami (Lovebites) and more on CZcams Channels (for example Mina). It seems as if there is some "magical fountain" pouring out all these amazing musicians. I can't stop listening to them!😲😲🙂😀😃😃👋👋👋👋👋... and so on...

Little is known in the world that the history of rock music in Japan has the same length and depth as in the West. The Japanese have truly loved rock across generations and this phenomenon is unique to Japan in Asia. And a wide variety of female bands have been active from the 1980s to today. Now, due to various factors, such as the huge domestic music market and language issues, J-rock has rarely been known outside Japan until now, but with the birth of the Internet, especially CZcams, many people around the world are starting to know J-rock. Come to think of it, the same thing is happening with City-Pop, which is a different genre from rock.

They are all accomplished musicians. I'm sure you'll hear a lot about their bio from fans but briefly, they stared as a one off session project for the singer Mayu, but clicked so well they decided to make it permanent.; side note the drummer Tamu is one of the most sought out session drummers in Japan, she plays Pop, Jazz, Prog Metal basically any genre). I see you have the AC/DC shirt on, you probably would enjoy their cover of "A Whole Lot Of Rosie". Its in a rehearsal studio and give you an idea of how good they are live. They actually have a lot of these rehearsals which show their diversity. Its great musicianship all-around....Last thing, Mayu can duplicate that vocal performance live, going from harsh scream to melodic singing. Her range will surprise you as you delve more into their catalogue.

When it comes to the subtitled lyrics you gotta kee in mind that they're not the best. There's a lot of literal translation with little concern to english grammar or the use of metaphors in the original language^^ it's sometimes hard to read, unscramble and follow the subtitles in the speed they go through while also processing the music and singing. Subtitles in music videos can be great but at least on the first time listening to a song they tend to distract me too much.
Aaaanyway, I'm happy you arrived at Nemophila on your musical journey and glad you want to hear more. They have some great and very varied songs and I can't wait to see which one you are going to react to next.
