Love Nemophila, they formed late 2019. Nemophila is a blue flower. Singer is Mayu. Guitarists are Saki and Hazuki. Bassist is Haraguchi San. Drummer is Marata Tamu. They are a versatile band. They do covers on fridays, while recording in their studio. Try their song Raitei, awesome banger, great solos. The guitarist really show their styles in solos in it. Mayus vocal is so awesome in it. The last part of song is a headbangers dream. Saki is also guitarist of Mary’s Blood. Hazuki is with Lisa X, was in Disqualia. Mayu was singer In band Lipstick. But yes, both guitarists are incredible. Like Lovebites, two lead guitarists.
Life is a great song, it’s from their live stream, show back in august. Beautiful ballad, Mayus vocal is so beautiful in this. The guitars are beautiful. Drummer Tamu had just come back, after months off giving birth, raising newborn, so she holds back emotion the whole song playing drums. Fighter a great song,

Yeah, it's my kink too. How any guy with a pulse wouldn't love them is beyond me. The gang vocals show they don't take themselves seriously-Hazuki even winks, in case you didn't catch it. If you watch them enough, you will get a clear sense that they are enjoying a private joke. Like "Yeah, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off". Some background:
Nemophila were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of:
    Mary's Blood guitarist Saki
    ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
    ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam (also does other projects)
Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized Mayu with some help from Saki. They started off posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” czcams.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/video.html They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers.
After Oiran, another to check is “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: czcams.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/video.html
Other than Saki, none of them had previously been with a breakout band, despite having amazing chops. Getting these five together did the trick-they are just exploding.

It's the scientific name of a small bright blue flower that's native to the US west coast. Most of the varieties have common names like "baby blue eyes". That's why I had to laugh a little when he said "I should have known from the name", because it is a very metal sounding word, unless you know what it means.

Nemophila is a Japanese metal band from Tokyo. Formed on September 5 in 2019, is a supergroup consisting of some familiar names from the girls’ rock scene. They are lead by guitarist SAKI from Mary’s Blood, Destrose, Amahiru, who recruited former Lipsick vocalists MAYU, guitarist HAZUKI from Disqualia, bassist HARAGUCHI-SAN from HöLDERLINS, and drummer MURATA TAMU from Soramimi. The band went viral with a rehearsal room version of the song 'Oiran' and have also gained further popularity because of their cover versions of songs by artists such as Iron Maiden, Helloween, Maximum the Hormone, Babymetal, Pink, AC/DC, Kiss, Show Ya, The Minions and more. They published two official releases in 2020.

"Where do they come from?" - well, other bands ;) . Even if they are fresh like morning roses, they are all seasoned "veterans" of the japanese metal scene - Saiki (right/gtr) is the best-knowned female shredder in Japan, Hazuki (left/gtr) comes from Disqualia, Mayu (singing extraordinaire) from Lipstick, Haraguchi-san (bass and laughs) from Hölderlins and last but not least, fusion drummer Tamu comes from ... too many projects to list them here, let's just say she's a highly demanded drummer (and a young mum). They were supposed to be a jam band at first, but soon realised they were on something with that team, so now they have three EP (with a total of 7 to 8 original songs released) and an album at recording state. They're versatile in the metal/hard rock genre, and really really really fun in the behind-the-scenes moments.

So we approach reality, step by step, a little more with every bit of information; I'm not into K-pop at all, and all I know about J-pop is L i S A ! - well, that's not exactly true; but tbh, pop as a genre is not where I put my focus on, generally ... let alone that J-pop in itself seems to be very diverse and submitted to constant changes. My first question would be: where are the limits of J-pop (Today, I discovered Atarashi Gakkou, and I'm still a bit confused: are they a bunch of heavily successful tiktok influencers? A 4-member dancing company? HipHop artists? Or "just" some J-pop idol girls, redefining the genre somehow .... Time will tell, as I said my focus is elsewhere (rock in all it's specific different flavours, in particular).

Great reaction and yes they do shred. Saki (on right side, also a BIG Babymetal fan - they do a cover of Megitsume) is considered one of the best shredders around and her guitar is from a Japanese company called "Killer", so of course she kills it. Nemophila as others have mentioned is a blue flower with 5 pedals (five members), you'll see blue in some of their videos.

They are extremely talented musicians, and she has a nice voice. Unfortunately, scream vocals just are not my thing. I recognize and respect that it takes skill and talent to do them. However, for me personally, listening to scream vocals is like having a Marine Corps DI screaming in my ear which is, little to say, not pleasing for me. As far as the Band, it will be interesting when Mary's Blood goes on tour again and see what Saki does. She remains their lead guitarist and the other guitarist is one her best friends. Good reaction Champ, catch ya next one.

@@Russ.Murphy You assumed a couple things. Firstly. that I have not listened to their entire catalog, which I have. My brother is a huge fan of theirs and I checked them out. I like a fair number of their covers but do not care much for their original songs. Secondly, you assumed that I referring to their entire catalogue of music when I mentioned the scream vocals when the comments before "As a Band" was strictly for this particular song. As far as Mayu's over all vocals, she is talented but her standard vocals are too high pitched for my personal preference. And I do not care for the scream vocals she does in this particular song either. Its no knock against her skill but more a statement that, while she is very talented, she is not someone I enjoy listening to. Overall, as a band, they are very talented but I prefer Hazuki in Li-sa-X Band and Saiki in Mary's Blood. All that being said, they do not hit the top 10 for J-Rock / J-Metal bands for me.

Ok, discovered your channel due to me loving NEMOPHILA, and I have to say, I really like how you edit your video, your voice and the kinky remarks. Nicely done, so subbed and liked.
Oh wait... you also do some BTS... unsubbed... (joking, while I don't like them, I totally respect your work and choices, and honnestly it's very cool that you go out of your own musical garden, music is a journey with a lot of diversity)
Yeah her vocals is what got me into that band. She nailed an Iron Maiden cover (which honnestly I never thought could happen, me beeing a huge fan of Maiden and of the vocals of Bruce Dickinson)
Now if you are after some other Japanese hard rock band (all girls), there is a one that is a little less known than the ones you covered, but yet quite talented.
    BRIDEAR
While their original core has changed a lot (only the guitar bass Haru, and the vocalist Kimi, are original members from 2011), they kept talent, while adapting to what happened.
Their latest MV (and song) Bloody Bride is quite nice czcams.com/video/CN3KDIBdosQ/video.html
If you do them in future, just never ever use one of their live recording, they are pretty bad as far as sound goes, and does not serve them well. But seeing those girls live is something (saw them twice)
Anyway, stay safe and keep on the great job, Greetings from Switzerland.
