LOVE the sound!! My Raptor had a cassette (1980) playing V8 sounds to try and make it sound something like a real engine.
I can't wait to finally get some seat time in one. Every dealership I've been in talks with wont even let you drive it until you are already going through the purchasing process. Solid review.

I've heard the lights in the hood scoop are because the truck is so big that U.S. regulations require auxiliary marker lights centered and higher up than the "parking'" lights. You usually see these on the roof but I guess this meets that reg. as well.
Anything at and over 80 inches wide requires horizontal lights because it's technically in a commercial vehicle class.
TIL: there are people in the comments who don't realize that CZcamsrs profit from fake outrage.

The extra three lights front and rear are not cosmetic, they are required for vehicles over 80 inches.
Not generally a fan of Mopar exhaust notes, but this one... Even without the whine of the supercharger....

Yes, people fawning over this truck, I say put it in the Baja 1000 see where it ends up. It does have a powerful engine no doubt, but it's a big large pig, basic physics and lack of workmanship kill this truck.

I know a guy with a newer Ram Truck. He is on his 3rd transmission.

Yeah that’s why streetspeed717 gave up on his second one and is giving it away. First one he jumped off the same jump the raptor handled 3-4 times with no issues and the TRX fell self destructed. But even after that the transmission and awd had no reason to take a crap with only 2000 miles on it. The second one he was planning on keeping and building and he gave up on that and won’t build it because the all time awd and transmission issues. Any power adders and the trans dies immediately. In the Ram tech forums guys are talking about how many transmissions they have replaced and how 40+ of the first ones have all been taken back to ram. And that was a month ago. I said the transmission and engine couldn’t even make it to 100k in a lighter hellcat. What the hell did they think was gonna happen when it weighs 2000lbs more. I have 2 hellcat engine stripped down to bare block right now trying to get one good one out of the 2. Both engines blew with around 70-75k on them &were rebuilt and now both sit in front of me with 150k miles one with the worst spun bearings I’ve ever seen. And the other twisted and shattered a rod putting a fist sized hole in the block. I love my v8s but this engine needed to be redesigned a king time ago. And this truck was a great idea but they got caught in the middle. It either needed to be a fast street truck with less weight or more off road focused with less power. Instead they tried to do both and it’s not working.

@@dor1tomcswagger69 he just said it in one of his last videos!!! Plus with the first one he said straight out he realized he couldn’t ever make it be the off-road truck he wants it to be. But the plans for the newone was to make it 1000hp. And he said he won’t be doing that because of all the awd and transmission issues. If you are a fan of his go watch the video. He also said that everyone that even tried to tune them has blown the transmissions right away.

I’m a car guy I live all performance stuff. But it is what it is. 100k for a truck that is blowing transmissions at 2000 miles and as a mechanic I follow the the ram tech forum’s. It’s not being a fan boy in anyway they are having issues the truck is to heavy and it’s not working out with the all time awd. Streetspeed717 had a build planned with his second TRX and he is now giving it away because of the reliability issues. I look at cars more technically than the one review with one big glory run and then in 20k mile the vehicle is having issues. This thing has been having multiple catastrophic issues before it even hits 5000 miles and 40+ were pulled back by ram over a month ago. They are aware. So what are they ford fanboys for talking about the issues?
@@carculturenation2166 he had 44s and at one point he had 35s in the front and 44s in that back omg 😂 🤷 you said ford put a 6 cyl so the truck won't nose dive in another comment but clearly in streetspeed video the raptor nose dived the only difference is that the TRX landed on one wheel due to Mike speeding and the right wheel lifted in the air mid ramp which caused the truck to nose dive you can clearly see it in the video suspension should be compressed when you take jumps if it's not you will have a big issue landing I see you've never jumped a dirt bike off a jump before he even clearly said in one of his vids that he botched the jump
My f350 is 20 years old. Few problems. Orig trans and engine. So I like stuff that works a long time. A toyota land cruiser is awesome 400 k miles and 30 plus years old. You think these ram trucks will be reliable in 20 years with 140 k miles ?

You're a special kind of stupid. The TRX was available for media testing or their own testing back in late August.
Ford took a 2017 Raptor and ran it in the 2016 race, and even now the TRX has not run any endurance off road race. Excuses!!

Silver state 300 at the end of April. If they are that badass they would prove it, all that extra weight and poor fuel mileage will kill it in a head to head race against a Raptor, so far The TRX is known for good straight away speed and brake fade. You got a head full of garbage truck juice.

Just watched a CZcamsr by the name of Ben Hardy take his brand new TRX out for a quick rump just a have it towed back to the dealer with transmission problems.
He had a line rupture and then instead of parking it kept driving it. Mostly user error there.

I daily drive a 80K raptor people think I’m crazy I work in it also but it’s comfortable it’s luxurious and fast with a 100K power train module the TRX is all of that but faster and more luxurious
I have regular Ram my self, but bigger engine, more weight, not always favorable, 700hp had to come with compromise, Raptor will always be excellent choice with it's advantages even if Ford will never use 5.2 engine
Dude, do some actual research and you'll see these trucks are already having major suspension issues. RAM in no way can compete with Fords quality.
@@jadedjay7861 Ford is not exactly trouble or quality issue free, I mean while you collecting problems information on a Ram, just check out the Ford... besides, Ram does not make Bilstein suspension, but i get it's cool to pin it on Ram's reliability
The front ends are still junk. We have had several new TRX come in for complete front end repairs. They are nice trucks but still not close to outperming the raptor. Ford Raptor seems to hold up do to it better suspension design.

6,400 lbs is not huge, my 06 Tundra double cab weighs 6,600 lbs.

Pickup trucks going all electric? Maybe if you use it to cruise on down to the gardening store but for work & leisure, there's no infrastructure for electric vehicles hardly, and unless the country is plunged into more debt, we can't just start throwing money at infrastructure projects

Not directly. Cyber truck will be fast on roads, it will likely be pretty decent at slower off-roading, but it will not be a baja runner like this. This vehicle has only 1 competitor and that is the Raptor R, which isn't out yet.

Nice review! That said - the modern 392 charger is one of my favorite owned sedans and I’m not big on brand loyalty. I’ve chosen Raptor twice over this. The main reason? Dodge Rams are abusive to the eyes. Also - honestly - who wants to drive around in a truck named after an insecure rebuttal to another truck? That’d be like driving around in a Honda ViperKiller or something as corny
