    Nice review, the only thing or issue I have is that they included the hand held control and not the regular controller, the reason I think is that not many people are going to buy the hand held controller and this way is going to make people buy the regular controller so now they have no choice but to spend that extra cash

      100% THIS!! This is exactly what I've been saying since the packages started leaking. The motion controller is definitely nice, but it's a "nice to have" - I'm definitely going to want the standard FPV controller 2. The price of the pro-view combo PLUS the $160 FPV controller 2 is getting pretty nuts (and that's not even counting the fly more pack with 2 more batteries, which, of course, I'm gonna want, too). I mean, yeah, it's expensive and there's no use in crying about it - either pay it or don't. Still, I would have preferred that the pro-view combo come with the FPV controller 2 instead of the motion controller.

      I agree, but you should also realize that they are out of stock on the FPV RC 2, so maybe that’s why - they can’t offer a kit if one of the parts is missing. I’m on a wait list to buy it separately.

    My thoughts on RC motion controller.
    I am a first time FPV drone owner. And i felt so comfortable flying the drone with the motion controller. Felt really confident for my first ever flight. From an ease of use standpoint i think it makes more sense bundling the Avata with the motion controller than the FPV controller. But yes i do agree there should be a bundle with the FPV controller for experienced flyers.

    DJI should have a trade-in program like cell phones do. Sure you take a hit but it's not a total loss with a new product comes out. Especially with their lack of backwards compatibility, this particular drone does have some backwards compatibility and that's great but for the most part that's not how they operate. It'll be a huge leap of faith for its customer base, DJI is a big enough company to do something like this

    Loved the real estate FPV footage, I appreciate you showing that. I have my Mavic 2 Pro still which has worked amazingly for my real estate business, but I know it's getting time to upgrade soon with the insane Mavic 3, and even other drones like the mini 3 that have already surpassed the Mavic 2 Pro in quality. The only issue I have is, can this thing replace all of the real estate needs, as in, does it have enough time/power to do the usual house pans, far away flyby's, etc., and is it viable to do that professionally with 10 minute batteries, and having to mostly use the goggles while recording your shots? As a professional does this make sense? I also realize the marketing potential of separately selling FPV walkthrough's and standing out in your local area as "that amazing drone guy".
    I can sell my Mavic 2 Pro to cover the costs of this full package with RC controller 2, etc., and save money avoiding the Mavic 3 if it isn't necessary - though I realize the image quality is well beyond the Avata. There's a lot of pro's and con's to weigh, I just wonder how viable this is as your 1 stop drone for real estate shoots; it's one of my biggest requested services. Cheers

I know you stay busy, but would you do a video comparison of this drone's video quality to the video quality Air 2s and the Mini 3 Pro. The reason is that I have a P4 Pro Plus v2.0 only, and am trying to decide on the best "2nd" drone to back it up ... and that compliments the P4 ... since I only am interested in real estate videos, homes and commercial, with progressive new site constructions thrown in. Hi. I don’t have a drone but I want too start and learn. One problem I have is that I don’t know what’s the drone for me. I used to fly rc planes and really liked it. But now I what explore all the drones possibilities. I have looked at the camera drones like the Dji mini 3 pro and that looks like a easy drone to start with. But I’m not that interested in filming. I wanna have some fun. So I look at drones like this and trying to find out if this is for me, because it is a bit harder too handle but then again probably more fun. So I’m watching this video and start thinking if I start with a mini 3 pro and after a while will try this one out. Can I at some point use the goggles in any way on the mini 3. Can the goggles be used at a dji camera drone if you got both ?

    Getting something like the BETAfpv Cetus, and then stepping up when you feel confident to other drones (like the Avata) seems like such a good way to learn to fly.
    I wonder how many people would feel confident to learn to make the transition from ‘normal’ to ‘manual’ modes on the Avata, or if the price of the drone might limit this?

    I have the fpv so I already have the v2 goggles and controllers (including the black controller with the air unit for other quads). Are the new goggles compatible with the original fpv and original fpv air unit / fpv system? Wondering if it’s worth replacing my v2 goggles with the new goggles 2.

    Hello can I use this avata drone with the Big DJI FPV Remote Controller? The one I fly with the Air unit? The Big One?

    Were you able to shoot that home tour in one take?! Very impressive! That’s what I’ll be using mine for. Any pointers?

    Thanks for the review. Do the Goggles 2 have headtracking? Do they work with the Vista and original air unit?

    • @stumpjumper_ste
      @stumpjumper_ste Před 2 lety

      They have head tracking but are only compatible at this time with the Avata, they are not compatible with the previous fpv drone or air units.

    Ken, once again SUPERB unbiased review. I hope I can get an Avata soon! Heading to Chicago next weekend and if not, it will be Mini 3 Pro time! Dude, you gotta try Bruce's Chicago Dogs in Largo (Blecher and Ulmerton in Pinellas). Let me know and I will buy you lunch as a fellow Tampa Bay Drone Commercial Pilot!
