I would have guessed that Coco Crisp would have stumbled into an All Star Game, just based on his career longevity.

Yeah he played a while but he was only an above average hitter 6 times and defensively, early on in his career he was a bit above average but not great and later in his career he was often below average defensively. The highest WAR he ever put up was 4.4 way back in 2005. Other than that he only put up a WAR over 3 in 5 other seasons. So he really only ever had a couple seasons at best where he played at even near all star level. Is it really that hard to believe that he missed out on the AS game in those couple of good seasons he had? Most people seem to overrate Coco when thinking back on his career.

Most of the young players who come up and can succeed, take walks. It's the toughest part of hitting to master and guys are getting better at it earlier.
Cavan Biggio had similar struggles to start the season but when his avg was .150, his obp was .350. Guys like that will bounce back.

He forgot when he was talking about Clemente, that Roberto had the BEST arm ever in MLB history. Stats may not tell the whole truth, as nobody tried to go first to third on Clemente, it simply wasn't possible. I saw him on film throw a guy out from the right field corner in Forbes Field, that is 375' deep. I am not quite old enough to have watched him live, but my dad used to tell me that when he went to Cards/Pirates games watching Clemente would simply leave him awestruck.

By the way, the Carlos Gonzalez segment had some errors. He didn't join until 2009, and that was the Rockies last winning season till 2017. He was a 5 tool player at his peak, though. Outstanding. Coors probably hindered his career alot, running around that outfield in the thin air is really hard on the body, it's no wonder he always had leg problems

the numbers just do not support him becoming all-star level anytime soon. his defense has looked good though, and i do think once he stops chasing sliders he could become a league average bat. if he manages that, he could be a 2-3 WAR glove first CF with big HR streak upside. he’s already shown substantial improvement vs changeups across a decent sample size. the bad news is that he’s regressed against breaking balls in the same time. i think he’ll be a good project for another hitting staff, just not the M’s since they already have their CF figured out for the next 12 years.

2017 and 2018 are the only seasons you can sorta argue that he could have been an all star. 17 has a stronger argument but he ended up getting hurt in June anyway, 18 his season numbers looks decent enough but he was pretty bad the first half. Other than that everyone other season has been the usual mix of lengthy injuries and underwhelming performance.

Until kelenic calms down on the HR swings and double gapper type swing, he will get eaten up my MLB pitching. He needs to learn to take pitches opposite field…a sign of good hitter. Kelenic is a big time pull hitter. Thats why he SO 32% of his at bats. MLB throws fast with accuracy and high level change up…pitchers are yanking him around like a yo-yo. Kelenic should just expect and off speed pitch outside and low and just sit on that pitch whenever he is behind the count and hit to opposite field

Hicks was one of the people the yankees fanbase ruined. As you say 2017-2020 were great, 2017-2019 even more so (2020 was just weird for everyone). He had a 120 OPS+, and accumulated value at a pace of 5.2 WAR/650 PAs (9.5 total). For a guy who was often a 4th outfielder/platoon player that is absurdly good. But he had a few injuries and his batting average was "only" .250 (basically league average, and also batting average is dumb), so BOOOOOO and you could just see in his demeanor how down he was

Did you call tori hunter’s defense “decent”. He’s one of the best defensive center fielders of all time? You don’t win 9 gold gloves because you’re decent. No one that watched tori hunter play would agree with that assessment.Kelenic does not profile like him as a player. Maybe statistically. I think you’re going more off statistics than what players are like in real life. Im being hard on you but you got to know the game if you’re going to make these videos and get the pronunciations of names correct if people are to believe you.
