  • Despite the weather in the North Pennines not being perfect I venture out for a night of wild camping at a location I have wanted to revisit for quite a while, Church Bowers. Whilst there the weather slowly turns to an thick mist which envelops the whole area, will it cut short my night of wild camping?
    Total distance :- 5.06 miles (8.14km)
    Summits Achieved :- Church Bowers 1096ft (634m)

Excellent stuff Duncan. I just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying your videos. I came across your channel earlier this year when I searched for videos in the North Pennines as I was meant to be staying in Middleton-in-Teesdale in June, but I had to cancel at the last minute due to other commitments at the time. However, I still plan to come to this area soon as I've never been before, so your videos have been great to watch. I've seen all of your North Pennines films now and have enjoyed them all. Love your narration in them too. Thanks for sharing. All the best, Patrick 🙂👍

Thank you for your kind words, it means a great deal to me to find out that even with all the video, narration and soundtrack styles that I add to my videos people do enjoy them. Thank you again for your comments and I hope you have a truly amazing time when you visit this area, it is definitely unique, atb😊

Great video as always Duncan. Cheers.Top job getting out in the tent again too. Shame there was no view up there, but at least it wasn't blowing a gale.

Thanks, it was a shame about the views but it was worth it to get the tent out and just experience the solitude up there. I dare say heavy winds would have made for a very different ending 😉

I seriously need a holiday, and these are about as close as I can get.

You need more time away from the lighting desk of yours lol, if my CZcams videos provide you with a small amount of relief from the world then I am a very happy man right now 😊

Looks great up there. I take it you have headed back towards Weardale from the car park. Parked in that exact spot last week, but went the other way, on a ridiculously good walk from Langden beck. Walk took us up and over the hills in your background and almost up to cauldron snout and then back along the Tees.

Thanks, sounds like you done a section of the Pennine Way alongside the Tees towards Widdybank Fell, the scenery at Falcon Clints is impressive. For me that day I headed back towards Middleton In Teesdale and Bishop Auckland, slightly faster as I avoid the traffic in Durham. 😊

Thanks, although I have visited Long Meg in the past long ago I have never done any videos over in the Lake District due to its popularity and video saturation on CZcams, if this channel really takes off I may consider a future visit there sometime though 😉
