    Just be careful when travelling around the Brussels area as there is a bit of a pickpocket problem and the area around Brussels Midi station is not very nice but Brussels Central is much better. Keep an eye on your luggage and belongings as most trains stop at Brussels Midi, Central and Nord which are just a couple of minutes between the stations. Sometimes thieves get on the train and might take your luggage etc and get off at the next close station as this is what happened to a friend of mine. Elsewhere all is pretty much ok and Belgium is a really lovely country with friendly people and it has great beer and chocolate!

    • @simonpilk
      @simonpilk Před 3 měsíci

      @@christopherfernandes4401 as a whole Belgium is indeed very safe. It is only Brussels that has an issue with thieves and homeless folks in my experiences. The main issue with Brussels is having three stations of Nord, Central and Midi just minutes apart and it is easy for thieves to board at one station and then steal,some luggage and get off a minute later at the other station.

      I think this pick pocket business is everywhere even in London this is highly practice by group of people at the most posh area of Central London.. even at the underground station you will often listen to the announcements beware of pick pockets...where are the human safe...so sad..

    Time does matter somethimes, depending on the kind of train you take. The rule is: if your ticket has a time, you are restricted to that specific train. This won't be the case for trains that stay within the country

    Hi . We enjoyed your Video about Belgium's Train system. We have a quick question. You mentioned that a purchased Ticket could be used later in the day.
    There are two direct routes to Gent Sint Pieters.
    (A) Brussels to Knokke, with a stop in Gent. The time to the stop in Gent Sint Pieters is about 55 minutes.
    (B) Brussels direct to Gent Sint Pieters (with the duration closer to 1 hour, 23 minutes).
    If we purchase the Ticket for "A" (Knokke), and the direct train "B" (1hr, 23 minutes) comes along first, can we use out Ticket ("A") on the Train for route "B"?
    Thanks

    Is the public transit in the city of Brugge pretty easy to use such as the trams or metro?

    i have a eurrail pass which I plan to use for paris to brussel central. I have a connection in Brussel Midi to Central with a short connection time. What if I miss my connection? Can I still use my pass for the next train?

    • @StayFabulousTL
      @StayFabulousTL  Před měsícem

      Usually, the connections in Brussels are planned considering the distance between the platforms for the train connections. Most likely you will have enough time to make it to your next train. The indications in Brussel Midi are super easy to understand. Happy travels!

    do you need to buy another tick if you travel from brussel to antwarp and then back, does the return ticket mean roundtrip?

    • @StayFabulousTL

    Hi, so we have a stopover there for 45 mins from amsterdam going to london.. now my question is.. can we go out the station just for quick peek and be able to go back inside within the said minutes? 😅 thanks

    • @StayFabulousTL
      @StayFabulousTL  Před měsícem +1

      Hi! 45 minutes is enough to go out of the station for a quick look, but it depends on which station you will be stopping at. Some stations are definitely worth it (Brussels central), others, like Brussels North and Brussels Midi are not the nicest/safest. Happy travels!

    6) Don't book any ride that has a transfer in Brussel-Zuid (Bruxelles Midi). It is the shittiest trainstation in Europe, and you don't want to get out of the train there. With 22 tracks, hidden escallators and many stairs, and street pavement for Luik-Bastenaken-Luik, make sure if you DO want to go for a transfer here, you have you legs and arms trained very well. Want a high-speed train to Paris: Go to Antwerpen first and book it from there.
