- Solo trip to Brussels! I've been having the best time solo traveling lately and I really hope you enjoy the vlogs. Brussels was beautiful and, in my opinion, is a great place for solo travellers. I felt safe and comfortable and everyone was really friendly and welcoming. As I said in the video I kind of randomly picked Brussels and it wasn’t somewhere I’d always dreamed of going, but I’m really glad I went. Below are some of my recommendations of things I did and enjoyed.
I’m planning to do a sit down video taking all about solo travel, so if you have any questions or topics you’d like me to cover, please let me know!

Food places
-Batavia - Indonesian Cafe
-Fin de Sciele - Traditional Belgian Food
-Maison Antoine - Frites
-Chocolaterie Mary - Chocolate
-Mussel Mongers - seafood, but I only had cheese croquetts
-Foocha - Asian Canteen & bubble tea
Areas in Brussels:
Freedom Quarter - where My Little Cup is. Seemed more quiet and residential when I was there, but I was only there briefly.
Dansaert - trendy area with lots of restaurants
Sablon - I didn’t actually go there, but I read good things and it’s apparently the most luxurious area in Brussels

Next time you go in Belgium, I strongly recommend Antwerp. It’s amazingly vibrant.
I love these solo vlogs I binge watch them on many channels I'm living through CZcams I travel solo in US and I regularly go out to restaurants, movies, shopping in US my dream is to travel abroad solo working up the nerve to have booked and canceled several trips out of nervousness and fear one day ill just do it great vlog Belgium most of Europe on my list to explore.
really enjoyed watching this thanks ❤🏴
I have been doing solo travel before Covid and I totally agreed about how you it feels at first and being anxious about what ppl think of you by yourself but slowly you get to understand that nobody cares and you just need to enjoy yourself :)
I love going solo travel too, amazing city to relax all day.
I’m going to Belgium, Brussels on Friday. This was a lovely wholesome vlog. Thanks for sharing ❤
Woohoo! I’ve been waiting for this🎉
As a solo traveler myself, this has certainly inspired a trip to Brussels! Very well put together and fun to watch. Thanks!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. I was trying to figure out where you're actually from. I figure somewhere on the west coast...
Exploring new cities absolutely rocks and you just reminded me how great it is to travel through Europe!
👍Nice video, thanks for sharing your inspiration with us. Keep up the good work. 🙂
Thank you so much for this. I’m going to London alone next month and a day in Brussels.
hi! i'm also going solo to brussels this summer 💛your vlog simply makes me want august to come sooner!
Great video. I’m heading back to Brussels in April, really enjoyed my time there, traveling solo as well. Was there last year, and missed a few things. Didn’t get a chance to go to that frittes place (Maison Antoine) last time, so will go this time! Brussels has some amazing Art Nouveau buildings by Victor Horta and others (Victor Horta museum too). Definitely worth going to see on your next trip.
I am also solo traveling to Brussels, I hope we get good weather then!
I'm going to Brussels (among other places) on a solo trip this summer, so this was really perfect!
Brussel is for tourists that don’t know what to. Brussel is stupid. And belgium people don’t go there
How was your trip?
I love this and your Florence video. I went to a few of the places you recommended on there. Like you mentioned, I found dining alone so hard, and constantly struggled with what others may think of me. It was exhausting!I definitely need to work on that!
Thank you! I know the feeling and it’s easier said that done not to care, but I think the more you do it the more comfortable it gets. Good luck!
Food it is amazing
Your videos are really cute!
Belgium is such a gorgeous and unique country. 🇧🇪 Stunning architecture, vibrant colours, and beautiful language. You seem so optimistic and kind. 😊♥️
Listen Smit she doesn't want anything to do with you
I live in London and will be going on a solo trip to Brussels mid December! can't wait
Can I tag along? I'm kinda depress right now due to the economy hardship and bad leadership in Nigeria.
Thanks for the chocolates!!!!!❤
My family is coming to visit me in Brussels in a couple of months and I've been watching videos of people first coming to the city because I want to see interesting places are shown that I might not know hahaha
I lived in Brussels and loved it so much. The best things about Brussels is the under group cultural and art scene, everything outside of the touristic spots are the best. ❤
Brussel is a great city. My lifelong dream is to one day live there.
Off in July 👌🏻 going on own been going on my own for last 9 yrs a lot better you can do what you want when you want
Fries Place Jourdain are nice but it is very crowded as it is listed in all the tourist guides...
The spiciest of your 2 sauces is samourai sauce the darker one is andalouse. These sauces are modern dressings. more traditional sauces are Mayonaise ( does not taste like American mayo) tartaar and Belgian pickels sauce (sauer).
Loved your video! So I’ve never traveled before but I’m going with a friend to Brussels soon. We want to take the train to different cities. What’s the best app or website for that? I see more than one and I am clueless! Thanks!
Love it!! But I didn’t get any chocolates!❤️
Move to London and I’ll get you some chocolate.
I've actually been to Brussels twice now, and during my first stay, I stayed at the Indigo, and I had the same problem you did - it's just too far away from everything cool; I wound up eating a lot of trash food simply because it was close to the hotel and I was too worn out at the end of the day to go exploring for anything else. My second time, I stayed at the Bedford, which is definitely a place I would recommend - it's just a short walk from the Grand Place; it's not too expensive, and the rooms are nice and comfy.
From Indigo to the center it's only 1 km ... And there is still public transport (busses, underground).
That may be true, but nothing beats close physical proximity. You save immense amounts of money and time by simply being able to see what you want via a quick stroll.@@wanneske1969
I’m going solo on Saturday …. I’m bricking it … Iv never done it before 😅
enjoy I took my first solo trip at 59 years old I wish I’d done it sooner ❤
Have a great time in Brussels!
Thank you!
What certain app do you use to navigate which metro/tram/bus should you take in Brussels? Im planning to go there solo as a day trip and wanna plan ahead:)
I use CityMapper
1:03 You picked a hotel and room straight in front of one of Belgium's best known British shops, Waterstones.
8:30 As a Belgian I would never buy my fries there. It has become a 'touristy" place. Fries cool off very quickly, don't walk too far.
10:13 Stroking the statue of 't Serclaes ? Are you tired of solo trips ? Because stroking that statue brings a year of luck in love.
10:20 those waffles with toppings are indeed meant for tourists. Liège waffles need no toppings at all, powdered white sugar or strawberries are the usual toppings on Brussels waffles.
10:37 Jacques Brel. Most famous Belgian singer so of course the French tried to claim him as being French. They tried to do the same thing with our fries.
Lovely video. Did you do this trip in June?
Thank you, I went mid-May actually.
Waterstones 😮😅
belgium has three official languages. Dutch is spoken by 60% of the population, French 39%, and German 1%
That's easy
the best part is you think they are thinking things about you
I am from Belgium .Bruges ,Ghent ,Antwerp ,Leuven ,Diest ,Lier ,Kortrijk best city 's for Old Places . iEPER is for WW1 flandres fields the best place
Did you have any language barriers?
No, I didn’t have any issues at all.
@@emily_meadows thank you for your reply. Im planning to solo travel there soon myself also.
OK, video. I definitely love seeing the American Perspective. I just can't help but think, all your trips are paid for by Mommy and Daddy. So, I can't fathom an in-depth review on your end.
Brussels is more than the Grand Place, Manneke Pis, waffles and fries.
Of course, but I only had 3 days. I look forward to seeing more on my next trip!
There are the botanical gardens in Meise (not far from Brussels), musea, pubs, michelin star restaurant, the most concert vernues per capita in Europe ... @@emily_meadows
Tiny boring county, visit the neighboring country Germany, then you will see what it's like to be in Europe, Germany is the epitome the heart of Europe.
If your own country is so fantastic why do you Germans always try to conquer other countries ?
