The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

So 60s. Man I can dig it. Very groovy!
So groovy man.
Reminds me of Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 because they had a similar vibe.
Short-lived group (1969-70) that released two albums with a wide-range of musical directions. Better received in Asian countries where their albums were re-issued to CD. Excellent management team to get them an appearance on ES performing two songs (the other posted about 6 months ago)..
Do you know if they did any TV appearances in Europe or Asia? I'm curious if this is the only known footage of this group (the 2 songs on Ed Sullivan).
@@-M-A-B- - Unfortunately, I have not stumbled upon any other video by this group. The costs associated with traveling with a large ensemble overseas normally limits the possibility of footage existing anywhere else but in the US. Reaching out to surviving band members or their families may be the only hope to locating more footage.
@@shyman99 Kind of what I figured. I thought maybe Japan would be the most likely place that would have put them on TV. Well, hopefully more footage will be discovered as time goes by.
@@-M-A-B- The inner dialogue were a short lived venture with many of the musicians leaving shortly after. The original band featured here changed ranks after their Vegas engagement supporting Dinah Shore . Vocalist BJ Ward left and released a solo album in the Netherlands (that featured songs by the Inner dialogue's song writer Tony Venolla) Jerry Scheff (bassist) joined Elvis TCB Band in Vegas as did Robert (Bobby ) Lanning who depped for the King when Ron Tutt was unavailable (Elvis was very fond of Bob from information on Elvis forums. The second Inner Dialogue album featured Kay Cole as the co vocalist and bassist Ernie McDaniels (who played with Dianah Shore in her Vegas and was probably drafted into Inner Dialogue then) Bob Lanning did the studio drumming on the second album but there's little to no info on their live performances after their stint in Vegas
@@rhysjones9519 Thanks for all that great info! It's too bad the original line up didn't stay together a little longer and try to "Make it Happen", as they say. For a group that was just starting out, playing Vegas seems like an odd choice. That's unusually where you go when your career is on the downswing. I wonder if they tried to play clubs in LA, Hollywood, NYC, or at least open for younger acts. I never cared much for their second album, it just lacks the spark of the first one. Thanks, Rhys!
Inner Dialogue reminds me of The Free Design!!
I was thinking the same thing... Definitely a lot of similarity. Similarity to Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 as someone else here commented, too.
There’s not a single bit of information about them on Wikipedia. And yet they were on the Ed Sullivan show
This is the same set that was used for the Tommy James and the Shondells
Inner Dialogue was on Ranwood Records (home of Lawrence Welk & Orchestra label). The CD was reissued in 2011 BUT the album "Friend" in 1970 has not been released on Apple iTunes or CD.
🤯Ok, the song may sound absurd and out of date nowadays, but we have to admit that it has something catchy that ends up making it nice... maybe that's the flower power...
Groovy group
Köszönöm. Ez volt a sláger! Bravó! ♥🌹
THIS AIRED ON SUNDAY JUNE 16, 1968 ON CBS-TV IN COLOR.
Superb! Thanks so much for uploading this clip! I have been waiting for years (decades) to see this. This group was so talented, it's a shame they never achieved mainstream success.
legendary Jerry Scheff on bass!!!
I can not get this song out of my head. The prognosis is negative, but what a groovy Earworm.
I don't know who they are, but they also sang "The Touch" on this episode which was posted earlier.
Groove
The Ed Sullivan show Good evening, my name is Rodrigo, I live in Argentina, I have been looking for a long time ago for the performance of a Spanish singer named Raphael. On October 25, 1970, he appeared on the famous "Ed Sullivan Show", singing live in Spanish, English and Italian, and achieving great repercussion, to the point that he reappears in it a few months later. Could you provide me with those videos? I will be forever grateful.
Odd...never heard of them...I actually like Sunshine Pop
They should have called themselves "Not Sergio Mendes and Brasil ''66".
Groovy, baby! Yeah!

JOYA
JEWEL?
This reminds me of an Ariel Pink song, but I can't remember which one.
glad I missed it
Ed Sullivan's crew took several hits of acid beforehand.
Great Camera work. I wish I was on enough acid to enjoy this.
They were more talented that this particular song which is entirely forgettable. It's a pity they wasted the opportunity to be on Ed Sullivan with a song so beneath their talent.
Never heard of them
"I go to life, feeling love. I go to love, feeling life. Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo." 🙄🙄
😆
An antimetabole.
The drummer looks a little like Conway twitty
The girls sound like a record sped up to 78 rpm, not that impresssed. No wonder they didn't last!
Not very hip for that time. Rather corny.
underststement
I am not going to watch this Elvis
these lyrics are horrible
Boy did that suck or what🤨
And another great video!
