Freddie once said in his interview that he is only the lead singer but not the leader of the band, they are (were) all 4 equal people who wrote number 1 hit! As a Queen fan I totally agree!

It's a BAND (not just Freddie). . . 4 fantastic musicians, each intent on 'entertaining. Freddie the one with the Art Degree felt wearing 'white' was great - even those from the last row of even the most massive audience would be able to see them. But early in their career it was agreed each could wear what ever they wanted. Freddie makes certain to lead your attention to John on bass, Roger on drums and Brian on Guitar. All four legendary.

Queen wrote the score for the movie "Highlander". Queen's drummer, Roger Taylor wrote "It's A Kind Of Magic" for the score.
"The phrase “a kind of magic” is used "by the main character in the film, Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) as a description of his immortality. Roger liked the phrase so much that he used it as inspiration for the song. There are references to the film in the lyrics: “one prize, one goal”; “no mortal man”; and “there can be only one”.
Roger wrote the melody and chords for the version that appeared in the film, which Queen guitarist, Brian May, described as “quite lugubrious and heavy”.
Freddie was really captivated by the song but he felt if a few changes were made, it could be better than what Roger had written. So while Roger was on holiday, Freddie composed a new bass line, added instrumental breaks, and changed the song’s order to make it more chart-friendly. Then Freddie, along with David Richards produced this new version.
When Roger returned from holiday and heard Freddie's version, he was a bit peeved but had to admit it was more rock and roll. While Roger’s version is at the end of the film, Freddie’s version appears on the album, in the video, and is the one Queen performs live. Taylor’s version of A Kind of Magic did not see official release until it was included on the extra EP for the 2011 special edition of the album.
Roger is still credited as the sole writer of It's A Kind Of Magic,

Freddie Mercury was wearing a designer yellow jacket w/ buckles and straps... it became an iconic jacket because this Queen tour in 1986 in Europe for the 'A kind of magic' album was their final tour (the original band w/ Freddie) ... In 1987, Freddie was struggling w/ his health and diagnosed w/ HIV positive that year... He only told the band, their managers and a few close friends.
Queen released 2 more albums in 1989 and 1991, but never toured again before Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, finally revealing to the public that he had AIDS just before he died... Queen released a final studio album 'Made in Heaven' in 1995 w/ tracks Freddie had recorded in his final months.

The band knew in 1987... so did his close friends. They knew just before Queen started work on 'The Miracle' album in 1988... He told them and basically said that he wanted it kept a secret and the band would work on new music from that point on and be active...
It took a long time to record 'The Miracle' and 'Innuendo' because of Freddie's illness... Brian May recalled that Freddie couldn't work too long in the studio and had to go home and rest often.

87 April he found out, Mary was the first to know then Jim when he returned from Ireland, his closest friends
he never told his family. he told his sister in August 1990 he was terminal but not with what
in 87 Roger started the cross, Freddie was doing the duet album with Montsarat which led to a late start on the miracle
they were releasing albums every two years but instead of the scheduled 88 release it was may 89
during 87 they weren't sure if they were going to carry on
in 86 Freddie struggled with the tour and said he was done with it, he was going to concentrate on his second album then only if the whole band wanted to carry on recording then he would and they did
he didn't tell the band in 87 they were doing their own thing, they didn't start recording until 88 but he didn't tell them then either it was later
the band have said in several interviews they didn't know for a couple of years, they had been told he had kidney problems but later realised it was more serious
the manager was told before them but told not to tell them but later said he should tell them
I don't understand why Induendo dragged out so long, the longer they took the iller Freddie became
Roger and Brian were concentrating on their solo albums but atleast they were able to get Innuendo done finished Nov 1990 released Feb 91

@@bluebell3720 The members of Queen knew before they began work on 'The Miracle' in 1988...
I don't know where u got that misinformation, and the band admitted that they lied about it for years to cover for Freddie Mercury... So, a lot of what they said cannot be ascertained.
They didn't know during the 1986 tour for sure... Freddie did say he was not feeling the best, but they were taking a break in 1987 anyway... but Freddie did tell them just prior to sessions for 'The Miracle' about his diagnosis.
The band (and management) did know in 1988 - the songs on 'The Miracle' were proof of that ('Hang on in there' ... 'Was it all worth it' ...was Freddie reflecting on his life as he knew the end was near for him)
Like I said: Freddie could not work for long hours in the studio... so the sessions for 'The Miracle' and 'Innuendo' took longer than usual... The band stepped up the songwriting as Freddie's condition worsened... so that he could come in and record vocals when he felt well enough.
Even after 'Innuendo' was done and mixed, Freddie insisted they keep writing and recording... He kept recording vocal tracks until mid - 1991, when he was too ill to carry on. Those tracks became the last Queen album 'Made in heaven' in 1995.

then they recorded the miracle until Jan 89
so no I don't understand why they dragged it out so long as it was harder as time went on until nov 90
Roger recorded an album sep- Nov 89
then another one Feb- Aug 91
