I did cattle panels arches for green beans last year. NEVER again. The Japanese beetles are them up and I couldn’t reach high enough to hand pick them. When I got a step ladder to solve that problem they just dive bombed me.
This year I have trellises on their side lengthwise and about a 18 inches off the ground. I think this will work better.
Dang, we don’t have beetles yet, hopefully we don’t get them, where are you located?
I’m also a giant 🤭 so no problem reaching them so far
@@MikelHunt I’m in central Virginia. This year I delayed planting a month to hopefully minimize pest pressure and have spent since last winter really focusing on the health of my soil. So far very few bugs. I’ve also learned that healthy plants crate a biofilm that minimizes pest damage. Pests tend to attack weaker plants so hopefully you have that in your favor as well.
