  • In this video you will learn how to build a garden trellis using cattle panel. This will make a beautiful statement in your garden. Having the fruit and vegetable plants climb the trellis will also protect them from pests and fungus. Think about the amount of air flow the plants will receive which will aid in limiting powdery mildew.
Trellis gardening is great because the fruits and vegetables are off the ground. This may cut down the amount of bug pressure on the plants. It's easier to identify bug problems when plants are climbing vertically. Another reason to use a garden trellis is to save space in the garden. Gardeners can maximize their space in their garden.

I came here after watching your video on growing melons on a trellis. I'm cracking up about how your stuff keeps falling. 😂 That'll be me too. I got a good chuckle. Thanks for the info!❤

HELLO Aubrey, yeah, I did not factor in severe wind storms. I have some honeydew hanging on it now. My cucumbers are hanging on it. I started my melons late, so hopefully, they will latch on as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it, ha ha. No problem, you are welcome for the info. We you better not look a thr fish fertilizer I made people still laughing and talking about what I did in that one. The one with just the fish on the thumbnail. Never again.

@GrowSomethingTasty im late, too. Better late than never! I'm going to try melons and some sugar pumpkins on it this year, and then next year ill try growing my squash and zuccini that was as well. Theyre too far established at this point to do those this year on it. Well...off to look for the fish fertilizer video immediately 🤣

Me too. Low tech videos where there's no-nonsense contents. I would take these kinds of videos over fluff and fancy-waste of time videos any day. Thanks Bear Brown.

I’ve been thinking about making a cattle panel trellis, but I was not sure how I’d do it. That’s a real simple approach you used, if a second person could help it’d be even easier.

Yeah it would be easier if you have a second person. I did try another way off camera afters and I should will do that for now on. Pick up one end and slide it over top until it hits the post then the end over the last 2 post. That was soooo much easier Ron go for it, It looks so cool 😎 and it keeps your plants off the ground.

Thanks Doreen Hurley, I am kind of nervous and excited to see if the melons will be able to hang on the trellis. The melons are not small. Have you grown melons on a trellis?
