Kimberly, I've seen tons of videos and yours was, hands down, one of the ABSOLUTE BEST training/explaining videos EVER!!! The property/gardens are beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless you and prosper you and your family. The videography was great (lovely shots with more than a nanosecond to look), the audio was great (a MAJOR problem in lots of videos by others in general), your rate of speaking wasn't TOO FAST, the animals were enjoyable to see, etc. Wonderful...just wonderful!!!
Oh wow!! THANK YOU!! That means a lot… Iv definitely put a lot of research and man hours into all this but it’s something that I just absolutely love. Gardening, photography and videography are something I halve just fell in love with and so it just made sense that they all go hand in hand and came together so great in this video. I have SO MUCH more material I just need to get the time to get it all up!💛
I used pvc pipe at both ends at the arch and zip tied. I felt like the cattle panels were too unstable to withstand the strong winds that come through. It helps to hold its shape year round. Great video:)
The fix to that is pinching the cattle fence on the top, giving it a pointy top. That helps with winds and gusts. We ve done it for years and never had a problem and were advised by a guy who had wind problem lol .
There’s an idea! Thank you! We live on top of a hill and don’t have many trees around the house/ garden area to break the wind, so I just tried to make sure that I wired the arch as secure as I could along with making positive that I used enough T-posts and they were solid in the ground. Also making sure that I wired the arch really good to the t-posts. Wind was definitely a major concern when I first started. But, so far so good. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Nah... I can literally do pull ups on my archways without them budging & I'm over 225 lbs. Just fold them into an arch between well set 6ft. solid steel T-post pounded into the ground 3ft. (with the post on the outside of the cattle fence). Secure them to the post with some decent gauge wire & there not going anywhere😂
This is my first year starting seeds and have not decided what growing method I am going to use. I wasn’t sure about pumpkins growing upwards because of their weight. I see now they will grow up. Thanks 😊😊
You're such an inspiration!!! DFW gardener here with a mini farm much smaller than yours. I know I could improve ours using your vertical trellis method. This summer heat has destroyed our garden the last two years however. I'd love for you to address that as water was not enough to save it.
Oh no…I’m so sorry to hear that. I honestly can’t say what kept ours going!? We are on well water and when the temperatures got over 100 I would just drench the beds and surrounding areas. It was the only green around for miles lol. I did suffer and slow in production, but it didn’t kill it.
Oh wonderful! Then I hope this video has encouraged you and has given you some helpful insight, inspiration and quality information to get you off in the right direction! Best of luck my friend!!💛
you just gave me an idea. your video was full of info. i’m brand new to gardening. while back i saw a dutch video on vertical farming and i was hooked on the idea someday of doing it but this a great baby step to doing it. my only reservation is that i work about of town for 4 days a week driving a semi. i am going to show this youtube to my wife!
Wow, that was the most educational and well put together video I’ve ever seen on here! You covered 99.9%. I loved seeing how you put it all together. 🚨 1)Does it grow from end of vine or do you have to keep untying and retying? 2)The only thing you didn’t mention is how much/ long to water? Thank you so much for all your time n effort 🙏 I’m starting with pole beans… red noodle
Hey Maggie! Thank you so much! I absolutely appreciate the positive feedback and that is a great question! So the answer to the first as far as do I need to keep fastening and unfastening the ties, the answer is no. The vines do branch off and create new vines but I just work them in with all the rest. As far as how long to water, I water the beds until they are about 1/2 way full of standing water and then move to the next one. The water will soak into the bed in just a few minutes time. If you have any other questions feel free to ask away!💛
Haha Absolutely! When making this video I had ME in mind! Annnd I knowww ME! If it’s too long, I’m like NOPE! BUT I ALSO get annoyed if I have to wait 10 years to see an end result. When other people add the timeline I am INSTANTLY relieved!😅 I’m Glad you appreciate it too! And thank you for watching and supporting our page! I’m looking forward to putting more out!💛
Hi this was extremely helpful, even after the years of seeing this method. I totally appreciate all of your details. You, garden and family look straight of a magazine. Way to kp us focused❤
Oh my goodness🥹Thank you so much💛 I sure do appreciate the compliment and encouragement! I’m So glad you found it helpful and I’m looking forward to putting out more!
Thank you for showing varieties you’ve had success with!!! I have most of those and since your pictures came out have been working on my trellises. I have a total of 6 now! I sincerely loved and appreciated this video!!!
Hi!! Thank you for creating such an informative video. I’m excited to try your method. Where do I find the information on your recommended seeds? Thanks again!
@@christelkennedy5698 Hello! Thank you so much! I am SO GLAD you liked it and it was helpful! To find the list of seeds that I recommend to use for this, you can find it on our facebook page “Mini Meadows Farm Oklahoma” In the Photo Album “Trellis Approved”!
Excellent video! You made it so fun! So beautiful! Informative! And delicious! I've been thinking doing something like this and didnt know how or where to begin. Thank you for sharing!
This was such a fantastic detail-oriented video. Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t believe people were seriously worried about concussions! What happened to common sense?!?! Too funny! I also find it funny that people worry about snakes and spiders in the tunnels. I WANT snakes and spiders!! They eat the pests that eat my crops so I can stay as organic as possible. I need some chickens though! We are having trouble with spotted lantern flies and I heard chickens and catbirds love them! I have seen the catbirds eating them but mostly they eat my raspberries, blueberries, goji berries and hardy kiwi.
Thank you so much! Im glad you found it helpful! And YES I was definitely as surprised as you were when over half the comments were about that same issue ( Being hit in the head ) NOT exactly what I was expecting in the least bit when I had posted it Lol
Oh wow! Hawaii! That’s amazing and something I would have never thought about but makes perfect sense from all the moisture you guys get there. I hope that growing in this way dramatically helps solve this problem for you!💛
Great video! I think you covered everything possible and did a excellent job explaining. Your tunnels look gorgeous as well as your farm! I grew bottle gourds on my tunnels several years ago and it was amazing and so magical walking underneath the tunnels. It also makes the harvesting easier cutting the gourds hanging! I laid cardboard underneath the tunnels to keep the grass n weeds from growing under. I found your have to help them along at first and some through out to space out the vine to cover it evenly. Lol Wish I could send you some pictures. I love to make birdhouses with them, let them dry out really good until you can hear the seeds shaking around inside and then scrub them clean soaking in a big bucket of dawn soapy water solution. Let dry and drill q hole in them with a hole saw. We like paint them and hang them around in the trees!
Thank you for making such a comprehensive video! I have been trellis gardening for two years now and I learned a lot from you. This is the best video I have seen on this subject and you are definitely a fabulous gardener!
Wow, wow, WOW! You have my dream garden. Thank you for sharing your wealth of gardening knowledge with us. You are so detail oriented that it makes even the beginner Gardener confident to atleast give it a try. God bless you!
I can't say Thank You enough. We just bought a new house. I've been doing raised beds at the house we've rented for the past 10 years. Been planning the new garden, I am definitely adding some of these vertical beds. I raise rabbits and quail. My rabbit manure goes directly into the garden year-round. Every fall after harvest the past years quail poo gets added to the beds. Oh, Marigolds are wonderful pest control. Thanks again. RonInIowa.
I remember my father as a child would make A framed out of 2x2s and put hinges on the top. In between he would nail 1x1s. Not treated wood but would last for years. At the end of the season just fold them up and store. He would plant lettuce and the cooler crops underneath it. I believe these were 8 to 10 ft long. We had a small growing area but had an abundance of crops.
Thank you so much for straightforward information. I’ll have to watch several times but I don’t mind because sometimes it takes me a minute. It’s very helpful to have an idea of where and how to start; much appreciated.
THIS WAS BRILLIANT !! Thank you for this video. It's been several years where I haven't gardened and this year I'm just throwing all kinds of old seeds into pots. If they grow, they grow, if I have a lot, I'll have micro greens :). I'll keep some to grow up. But I think I can do this. You sound like a teacher. Your a great educator. God Bless You !!.
I have used pressure treated wood for gardening for 30 years and at 77 it hasn't killed me yet. Even though most gardeners advise against using PT wood, I have always thought that was overblown. No PT wood, but go ahead and use manufactured fertilizer and insecticides and wood for mulching and not knowing what the type of wood the mulch is. This is certainly not a critique, but just another way of doing the job. You produce excellent videos. Keep it up.
❤❤❤❤❤ OMG YOU ARE AWESOME SOMEONE TOLD I ABOUT YOU ON FACEBOOK AND I HAD TO FOLLOW ...THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR STEPS IM A FIRST TIME FARMER AND THE CATTLE TRELLIS ARE AWESOME
Greetings from central Arizona. What an incredibly informative video. It definitely was a COMPLETE guide. Very nicely done. You are a gifted teacher. Thank you for making this video.
Absolutely LOVED!!!!! This video and the time and details you took to make vertical gardening a reality for me. You have lessened my anxiety and feeling of intimidation about growing vertically. You made this so specific down to every measurement that I can’t wait to start and show you my results. Thank you ❤
Really great instructional video. You're the 1st person to suggest supporting your melons with pantyhose. I'm not the only one!😊 Good luck with your adventures
Wow... Excellent... Thank you so much for making this video. You got a huge response on FB because your garden is absolutely stunning. The prettiest I have ever viewed.❤
Thank you Kimberley. I have read LOADS on vertical growing but this vid is the ONLY exhaustive source packed with hands on detailed info. Well done! Happy harvests!
Talk about encouraging!! And to be honest, so have I! And THAT is why I was SO particular about how I wanted to do this! I made it how “I” would want it to be if “I” were searching and looking for everything I needed to know about how to start a vertical garden. Usually you have to watch 10 videos, read 4 book, 5 online articles and search Pinterest and Facebook for inspiration and small details you couldn’t find. SO I figured I’d try and do the best I could to fit it all in ONE video! I’m looking forward to putting out more!💛
This was an interesting video. You provided a lot of great tips and visual references. I'm a older gardener and I have a bad back, so pulling weeds or excessive kneeling is out of the question. Of watched quite a few videos on vertical gardening and you've done the best job.💯 Thanks for sharing this! 💯 ❣️
Exactly what I’ve been looking for, thank you! I grew up in North central Oklahoma and am now in eastern Oklahoma, dirt’s a little different over here but the weather is the same so I know your methods will work for me. Wonderful video, just subscribed.
oh y goodness THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video! I so appreciate this content and jus subscribed for all your videos. I love the peace in which you teach how you teach everything is so perfect, thank you minimal distracting music this is a fabulous gardening channel I so appreciate what you’ve done in this video. I live in southern New Hampshire in our climate, although changing, I have an abbreviated growing season and need all the tips I can get! I bought cattle panels a few years back and did not have any successAnd after watching your video I understand more now and will give it another try. Thank you so much looking forward to all your videos. Have a wonderful weekend!
Great Video!!! This will be our first year doing a tunnel, primarily for loofa, but now I plan on doing birdhouse gourds, cucumbers and others all on the one tunnel. Looking forward seeing it fill out. I have the loofa already growing in my seed starter.
Oh how exciting! Luffas are so much fun! They fill out the tunnels beautifully with their foliage and have tons of beautiful yellow flowers! Im so excited for you!💚
Oh how wonderful! What an inspiration! Thank you for sharing! I am so happy you found our video and found it helpful and useful! Im excited for your new vertical gardening adventures! Proof that you are never too young or old to learn and try something new!💛
That was absolutely the best, most comprehensive tutorial on raised cattle panel gardens I have Ever seen!!! Measurements, seed recommendations and Most importantly directionality!! You are amazing😊 I will be starting small, 2 panels for cost and ability assessments but my young grandsons are Very excited about the tunnel! I can expand as desired with your design and I'm So greatful fotmr the l abor and fab pictures. God bless you and yous, thank you🥰 I'm so excited to get started😁

Thank You!💚Im SO GLAD you liked it and found it helpful! And I am SO excited that you’ve decided to give it a try yourself! You’ll never want to garden any other way again!
I enjoyed your teachings on cattle panel. Great description and loads of possible veggies to grow. Extremely helpful. We’re in zone 5b Colorado. I need to wait, maybe next month get some cattle panels. Thank you so much!
Absolutely! You are so very welcome! I am so happy you liked it and found it helpful! I’m excited for your new gardening adventure there in Colorado!😍👏🏽👏🏽
This was a fabulous video that was well made with excellent information. Your explanations were spot on. Your gardens are gorgeous. Turn it into a book! Keep up the great work.
Awesome video very informative and also funny 😂where a hard hat I can’t believe people are really worried about that histerical 😂😂😂I’m here in South Carolina close to the beach and have always wanted to use a tunnel to garden now that I know pumpkins will grow and cantaloupe oh I can’t wait to get started 😂I will be the one to walk smack dab into the pumpkin lol 😂❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this incredibly comprehensive video of your process. The amount of time and effort to compile all this information and video is amazing. Thank you!
My wife and I are in our 60s and planning to move into our forever cabin this summer. This video is exactly what I have in mind to save TWO bad backs. Thank you and God Bless!
Formidable vidéo, toutes les explications sont très claires et très détaillées. Merci infiniment pour le partage de vos connaissances, c'est adorable de votre part. ❤
Hey there. Central Oklahoma resident, myself. I love your garden and your philosophy. I don’t want to do 1 thing, I want to do them ALL! Ha. Beautiful Place. I’m just getting started. Any help for absolute flat ground. An acre of it, I’ll sure accept it.
Hello fellow Oklahoman!👋🏽 First of all, flat ground is better than rocky or supper sloped ground! You’ve got this! If there’s a will, there’s a way! We live on top of a hill with a TON of SUPER high winds and I was VERY hesitant about being able to grow this way BUT I still gave it a shot and Im SO glad I did!! You’ll never know unless you try! Good luck my friend! My advice is just GO FOR IT!! Try it ALL and see what does BEST!! lol💛
Have you grown Vining varieties of different vegetable families on the same tunnel? I only have space for 1 tunnel but want to grow pole beans on one end and squash/ pumpkins at the other end as well as other combinations while grouping the same plants in 3 foot sections for example. I don't care if they cross over each other a bit where they meet as long as I get a harvest from each variety.
Yes absolutely! I actually grow pole beans in every single tunnel because they add nitrogen back into the ground! I mix and match all kinds of varieties! So you’ll be completely fine!
Absolutely Beautiful!!!! Thank you for the great inspiration and willingness to share your gardening knowledge with us. I just installed a cattle panel and I am looking forward to the growing season. You truly are an artist and we all thank you !
New subscriber, Grannie Cyndy from South Australia here. We have a 1/4 acre food forest garden and I will definitely be using the inspiration and information about vertical gardens in some way. Beautiful explanations! Well done!🍊🍅🥒
Oh awesome!! Wow! Australia! Welcome aboard! Thank you for subscribing! I appreciate the encouraging words and Im so glad you liked our video and found it helpful!💛
VERY well done video! Thorough, informative, full coverage! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I will be creating tunnels just like this in my garden this year. This is exactly what I had been envisioning and now I have the plans!
Awesome! That makes me happy to hear! I tried my best to try and cover as much as I possibly could! Im so glad you found it helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and leave a positive comment💛
Wonderful video I feel like I’ve been to university for Master gardening. I am a newbie. I’m interested in this panel style gardening and I’m gonna try with it. Hey I’m in my 70s I’m might as well give it a whirl. Thank you very much for giving. This class was excellent. Much love from Texas, keep gardening❤
Absolutely stellar video!! Thank you so much! I am in central Oklahoma as well and we just moved to our little homestead property in October. It is overwhelming but I am trying to figure out the garden and this was awesome!❤
Very nice video, thank you! I would be interested in following along with the preparation, planting & caring for almost anything you will be growing this season. From flowers to veggies! I love to garden & love to learn from ppl who know what they’re doing. I haven’t grown any vegetables in about 10 years but I’m giving it another try this year! Wish me luck! I do have questions about growing corn if you grow corn for personal use. I guess my questions about that is about pollination or cross pollination with corn 🌽 Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your informative video and I will be subscribing! 😊♥️ My name is Stacey, & I’m from southwest Michigan.
Oh how wonderful! Im so excited for you! It’s like riding a bike! You will remember once you get back into it and fall in love all over again! As far as the question about the cross pollination of the corn- Cross-pollination in corn occurs when pollen from one corn plant is transferred to the silks (female reproductive organs) of another corn plant, usually by wind or insects. When cross-pollination happens, it can result in hybridization, leading to genetic diversity in the offspring. (The seeds it produces) The corn that results from cross-pollination may exhibit traits from both parent plants. This can affect both the current year’s crop and future generations, depending on when the cross-pollination occurs and whether the resulting hybrid seeds are saved and replanted. If you are not wanted your corn to cross, it’s important to consider isolation distances between different corn varieties to minimize the risk. Planting corn varieties with staggered maturity dates can also help reduce the likelihood of cross-pollination, as can using physical barriers such as hedgerows or planting non-corn crops as buffers between different corn varieties. You can also consider planting corn varieties with traits such as male sterility can prevent them from producing pollen, reducing the risk of cross-pollination. I hope this information helps you out a little on your journey! Thank you for supporting us and good luck to you this coming growing season my friend!💚💛

This is certainly not a critique, but just another way of doing the job. You produce excellent videos. Keep it up.
Thank you for the information, I will keep that in mind. Thank you for the encouragement as well💛

Oh gosh! Thank you so much🥹
Absolutely LOVED!!!!! This video and the time and details you took to make vertical gardening a reality for me. You have lessened my anxiety and feeling of intimidation about growing vertically. You made this so specific down to every measurement that I can’t wait to start and show you my results. Thank you ❤
Thank you!

🥹Thank you so much… I truly is my happy place and passion💚
Thank you Kimberley. I have read LOADS on vertical growing but this vid is the ONLY exhaustive source packed with hands on detailed info. Well done! Happy harvests!
Absolutely wonderful video. I have watched hundreds of gardening videos and yours is one of the nicest and well articulated
I’m looking forward to putting out more!💛
Thank you so much for all the information!
You are so welcome!💛
Wooooo! That was an amazing video! Thank you SO MUCH for all the detail !! Very appreciated
Thank you so much! 🥹And you are SO very welcome!💛

Thank you so very much! I tried to keep it rolling as best I could because I know me and MY attention span🤣 Im so glad you enjoyed it💛
This was an interesting video. You provided a lot of great tips and visual references. I'm a older gardener and I have a bad back, so pulling weeds or excessive kneeling is out of the question. Of watched quite a few videos on vertical gardening and you've done the best job.💯 Thanks for sharing this! 💯 ❣️
You’re very welcome! Im so glad you found it helpful!💛

Hey there. Central Oklahoma resident, myself. I love your garden and your philosophy. I don’t want to do 1 thing, I want to do them ALL! Ha. Beautiful
Place.
Try it ALL and see what does BEST!! lol💛
Amazing.thank you
You’re very welcome!💛
Wow!! Your garden is stunning and productive. Thanks so much for such a comprehensive guide to how to do it. ❤❤❤God bless!!
Thank you so much! And you absolutely SO very welcome!💛
Great video, I learned alot and I am definitely going to give this a try.❤
Awesome! I’m so glad you found it helpful and I’m SO EXCITED for your new adventure! You will never garden the same again!💚
Absolutely Beautiful!!!! Thank you for the great inspiration and willingness to share your gardening knowledge with us. I just installed a cattle panel and I am looking forward to the growing season.

Fantastic video!
Thank you very much!💛
Very nice video, thank you! I guess my questions about that is about pollination or cross pollination with corn 🌽
Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your informative video and I will be subscribing! 😊♥️
My name is Stacey, & I’m from southwest Michigan.
Oh how wonderful! Im so excited for you! It’s like riding a bike! You will remember once you get back into it and fall in love all over again! As far as the question about the cross pollination of the corn-
Cross-pollination in corn occurs when pollen from one corn plant is transferred to the silks (female reproductive organs) of another corn plant, usually by wind or insects. When cross-pollination happens, it can result in hybridization, leading to genetic diversity in the offspring. (The seeds it produces)
The corn that results from cross-pollination may exhibit traits from both parent plants.
Love can do anything!
Absolutely💛
Thank you for making this feel manageable!
You're so welcome!
Thank you!😊
