I stumbled upon this on TikTok and am so intrigued. I had no idea there were people out there, especially younger people, that are in to old appliances like this. My grandmother has these, purchased sometime in the late 50’s and still used to this day, along with a full kitchen of Westinghouse appliances, even a dishwasher, purchased around the same time.

Kudos to your dad on that paint job, and to you for the other resto work! Can't wait to see it finished

I’ve been commenting all over the place lately about relating to your taste in antiques and cars, but I wanted to mention I think the only thing I “disagree” with or differ on is typically I prefer the original paint + patina/rust over brand new shiny paint jobs/rechroming. That said, you do great work and it’s very satisfying to see old appliances looking brand new. I love your videos

Thank you for this video showing rust repair! I plan to use the same technique to repair my Kenmore Elite washer as I can’t get the parts for it any longer. Hope it comes out close to as good as yours! I so appreciate your saving these appliances and furniture! I remember stuff like this in my Granny’s and Grands houses!

Travis I’ve seen the last short clip of the washer all done and working … BRILLIANT are you going to do a full video of putting the washer back together ..?? Look at all the hits you’ve had of the washer and dryer videos … 1000s more than any other video !!!! You’ve got a real skill in demonstrating the restore …and making it achievable for others .
There is a real large community of vintage washer restorers out there which are obviously looking at your content ….
Keep up the fine work ….

At one point I pulled all of the high end appliances out of the kitchen, and took them to a local auto body/paint shop to have them repainted white. They looked like new appliances, and we got many more years of service out of them. Most recently we used automobile wrap to refinish the front of a dishwasher, another win.

I always wonder how much water and electricity these machines use. I reckon the new ones aren't much more efficient

Hey man don’t know if you see this or not. But I have a old house that has all General Electric cabinets and a General Electric oven. If and when I do replace them what do u think the value of it should be?
