- Removed the stock exhaust this weekend and installed:
AMS lower downpipes (sourced from Boosted6 Autowerks) &
Fast Intentions catback with 14” resonated x-pipe and 10” sport mufflers (direct from FI)

Thanks. The FI exhaust is 2.5” that mates to my 3” AMS downpipes with an adapter at the flange. & Yes, the 14” touring mufflers are more quiet than the 10” sport mufflers.
Would you mind sharing what the set up cost? I have a 18 red sport and one of the things I don’t like about it is the sound. Your car sounds great!
The Fast Intentions catback in this configuration was $1767 shipped & the AMS downpipes were $440 shipped so ~$2207 total for this specifically

No kidding. I’d guess I was probably coming back from a lunch or something haha I’ve never actually heard my own exhaust from outside the car while driving. Hoping it sounds as nice as it does from the inside!
Noob question. I just ordered Invidia Gemini catback for my 2014 q50. I keep hearing this term Downpipes. Is that a separate kind of exhaust, or is that just the angle position of the exhaust pipes?
No worries. Turbo cars have downpipes, which is the turndown pipe connection from turbo to rest of the exhaust system, often includes the catalytic converter.
Naturally aspirated cars like your 3.7 VQ don’t have “downpipes”, just headers connecting to catalytic converter. So you’d use “test pipes” or “high flow cats” instead if you were to replace your catalytic converters

You’re always going to hear the engine, the engines what makes the noise lol. The only way you’ll get the info you want is to find some local people to you and go hear the different exhausts in person.

& no, not tuned. Gonna run the powertrain warranty out before I dig in. Too many known issues with the stock platform.

Does it sound better in person?
I feel like video always sort of muffles the true sound you’d get if you were in person. With that I said, I love the sound. I do think that it’s a taaaad bit tame/quiet sometimes but there’s 0 drone so I don’t regret the resonated midpipe.

Is the exhaust louder in person?
It’s really not loud at idle and low rpm. It’s got a nice little growl you hear in the cabin, but it really opens up in the upper rpm ranges. If you want it louder, the offer the unresonated mid pipe, but it will probably add some drone on the hwy, which I have 0 of

@@Q50_bandit quite a bit louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud. Stock exhaust sounds mainly like engine noise, this definitely sounds more throaty and open. Sorry I didn’t include any before clips for reference. This exhaust combo creates my favorite tone out of the 3.0 engines, personally. Plus it’s high quality
