Infiniti Q50: OEM spoiler or aftermarket?
Rob wants to try out some different spoilers without dealing with holes from the OEM spoiler, so we grabbed an extra trunk from a local parts car, cleaned it up, and swapped it out.

Easy how-to on replacing the Honda S2000 timing chain tensioner with an upgraded Billman Gen X version. Thanks. The FI exhaust is 2.5” that mates to my 3” AMS downpipes with an adapter at the flange. & Yes, the 14” touring mufflers are more quiet than the 10” sport mufflers.

You’re always going to hear the engine, the engines what makes the noise lol. The only way you’ll get the info you want is to find some local people to you and go hear the different exhausts in person.
Does it sound better in person?
I feel like video always sort of muffles the true sound you’d get if you were in person. With that I said, I love the sound. I do think that it’s a taaaad bit tame/quiet sometimes but there’s 0 drone so I don’t regret the resonated midpipe.

Is the exhaust louder in person?
It’s really not loud at idle and low rpm. It’s got a nice little growl you hear in the cabin, but it really opens up in the upper rpm ranges. If you want it louder, the offer the unresonated mid pipe, but it will probably add some drone on the hwy, which I have 0 of

@@Q50_bandit quite a bit louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud. Stock exhaust sounds mainly like engine noise, this definitely sounds more throaty and open. Sorry I didn’t include any before clips for reference. This exhaust combo creates my favorite tone out of the 3.0 engines, personally. Plus it’s high quality

Noob question. I just ordered Invidia Gemini catback for my 2014 q50. I keep hearing this term Downpipes. Is that a separate kind of exhaust, or is that just the angle position of the exhaust pipes?
No worries. Turbo cars have downpipes, which is the turndown pipe connection from turbo to rest of the exhaust system, often includes the catalytic converter. Naturally aspirated cars like your 3.7 VQ don’t have “downpipes”, just headers connecting to catalytic converter. So you’d use “test pipes” or “high flow cats” instead if you were to replace your catalytic converters

No kidding. I’d guess I was probably coming back from a lunch or something haha I’ve never actually heard my own exhaust from outside the car while driving. Hoping it sounds as nice as it does from the inside!

😭😭 I didn’t deserve all that & no, not tuned. Gonna run the powertrain warranty out before I dig in. Too many known issues with the stock platform.

The Fast Intentions catback in this configuration was $1767 shipped & the AMS downpipes were $440 shipped so ~$2207 total for this specifically

sorry for the late reply. they can be VERY tough to pull off, but they DO just pull right off. You can try using plastic pry tool if you didnt get it yet

Were you able to get the dash to fit back flush once you've installed the mount?
There is a very small gap but its only noticeable to touch if you rub your finger there. Its not something you physically see and notice a big gap
Just got an S2K and followed this video, I have a gap on the top corner right myself. I gotta see if there's a way I can have it sit flush, I'm a bit anal about that stuff 😅 Thanks for the tutorial! @@calobp504

Worth the piece of mind, but not really necessary if OEM is functioning properly. Billman over any other replacement though!
