This particular song is much better on the official video because this is not only just part of the song, it doesn't have all the sounds. Original with headphones is what you need to hear. Thanks for reacting. Freddie was a genius and this band is made up of 4 of the best musicians. Each one is at the top of their field. Queen rocks, even 45 years later

Completely disagree with you. For this band to perform this well live is far more impressive than what they did in the studio. The song is amazing, studio or live, but hearing it performed live is always the test of a great band. Sure, they may have left a little out, and this might not be the best live version, but live versions are always the true test for a band I think.

There's a reason Michael Jackson looked up to Freddie. Now "Somebody To Love" 1981 Montreal and he'll take you to church. Yes, you just heard the best front man of all time. The studio versions are equally impressive and you get to hear his range, but ALL of them are talented GOATS.

Freddie did indeed write this. A masterpiece. He was genius. And a legend. He passed away from AIDS in 91 and he's so missed.
I do prefer this live but if you haven't heard the song before it's better to do the studio version/music video first to get the full experience. They always skipped the beginning of the song when they performed it live.
I so agree. I hope he watches the Green Day concert from 2017. 27 years after Freddie's passing. Not even there, they played Bohemian Rhapsody for the crowd and there was some 65 thousand people of all ages singing in perfect sinc. 27 years after he was gone and he did not even have to be on stage to completely own the crowd. It was AMAZING
Queen was a British rock group founded in 1971 consisting of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead singer and piano
Brian May - Lead guitar and singer
Roger Taylor - Drummer and singer
John Deacon - Bass guitar
They were all 4 extremely talented musicians who played together for 20 years until Freddie's untimely death at 1991. They all not only were excellent performers plus all 4 wrote music and Queen is the only group where every member had hit singles. They recorded 14 studio albums, had a multitude of hit singles, and play to huge stadiums all over the world to crowds as large as 250,000. On one of their tours, they only played at 9 different venues but they calculated that they had played to over 5.3 million fans.
Yes, Freddie wrote Bohemian Rhapsody. He admitted that it was actually 3 separate songs that he was working on but couldn't quite finish. Then one day, he got the idea to smash them all together with transitions and bridges and thus a classic was born. The band trusted him even though they had no idea what this song was about. It was all up in Freddie's head. They just did what he asked them to sing and play.
You need to hear the studio version and see the video of Bohemian Rhapsody. Normally, Queen is better live than in the studio versions but this song was recorded using innovations that weren't common for the time. It was recorded on tape and they had so many over-takes that the tape ended up clear. Also, the video was inventive. They were about to leave on tour when Bohemian Rhapsody dropped so they needed a special video to promote it since they weren't going to be available. It only took them about 4 hours to make and it is was so innovative for the time (1975) that it launch the music video craze and is credited with launching MTV.
Bohemian Rhapsody is not 3 separate songs, the composition of the song works perfectly together to form one cohesive unit. There are cord progressions that appears through the whole song. If the song was 3 separate songs then you would not get these reoccurring themes.

Yes, your life just changed. Greatest live Rock N Roll band ever. They have a massive catalog, you will recognize so many of their songs and say - they did this? I was lucky enough to see them in 1976 and 1977, Freddie had long hair and black nail varnish in that era, very much in tune with the glam rock movement. I was madly in love with him. He was stunning then - singing, charisma, stage presence, piano playing and was right until the end. Tragic loss, but he continues to inspire. "I'm not going to be a rock star, I'm going to be a legend". Yes, Freddie you became that legend.

Each song is an original, (Queen didn't do covers, apart from a rock n roll medley on stage), written by one or more band members each of whom were inducted in the songwriters hall of fame , each man has written at least 1 number 1 hit.
Nice reaction! Some songs you’ve probably heard are We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, and Under Pressure. Other great songs to get into Queen are Somebody to Love Montreal 81, Keep yourself alive, hammer to fall, Dragon attack Montreal, radio Gaga, etc. Queen at the Live Aid ‘85 is one of the best live performances ever. Would definitely recommend!

Great reaction! As much as I enjoy Queen live, if you enjoy music production, the official video is a must watch. Audio and visual masterpiece. There are videos online about about the creation of it, breakdowns of the different sections, and even a video about the chord progressions (which I really enjoyed!) 45 years later, it remains a unique piece of art.

First heard Bohemian Rhapsody in 74-75 and still love it so.
Look up earlier versions of this song live. This was when his voice was starting to go as he got sicker and sicker as AIDS started to take him. Freddy had such an amazing voice...somebody to love, gonna have a good time, and hammer to fall are a few of my favorites.

Was 15 in 75’ when this rocked my already blessed good fortune of growing up across the Detroit River on The Canadian side ...saw Queen in 78’ at Cobo Hall on there album after this one Day At The Races ... give all their music a good listen...early Queen rocked ..

For vocal expertise and kick butt instrumentals, your next choice should be White Queen, Live at Odeon, Hammersmith. The best live band ever!!! The suggestions below are excellent choices but White Queen is mind blowing if you are honestly into music. There is a bit of everything in the Queen catalog so enjoy.
Agree! White Queen, Live at the Odeon is classic. Watching Freddie sing and play piano in that performance is mesmerizing.
I think white queen at odeon is an average version, they are better versions that are not officially released.

I was blessed to see Queen live twice, first at Wembley Stadium (the old stadium) and then three weeks later at Knebworth. Each one absolutely mind-blowing. I have loved them since I was 12-13 years old. They still blow my mind and I'm nearly 60 now. I have to agree with some of the other posts on here that while this performance is magnificent, to get the true feel of this song it's the original that hopefully by now you will have listened to. Also on the album A NIght at the Opera are the track's The Prophet's Song and Love of My Life; both astounding! Enjoy :)

You should watch just to get an idea of the legend Freddie is, the Green day 2017 concert, they open with Bohemian Rhapsody being played for the crowd 27 years after he passed and some 60 thousand people of all ages are singing it in perfect sinc . It was an amazing experience.
