Anybody who knows ANYTHING about music in general knows Freddie is the best that ever was. He has one of the biggest singing ranges of any man in history. Any human being that doesn’t put Freddie at the TOP… they jus’ don’t know what they are talking about. Must be too caught up in their own little bubble. Dude is a legend. The world darkened the day he was taken from us. Rest in Peace, Freddie. ♥️

The video was made for Britains weekly chart show “Top of the Pops” in ‘75. They were the first to introduce a video performance then and it did become the template when the rest of the world and MTV caught up with them in the ‘80s. They weren’t “glam rock or prog rock or pop rock or hard rock” they were ROCK period. The beauty of Queen was they could never be categorized because every album tasted different genres. I got to see them live 4 times. Best shows of my life.
Thrilled to see another new generation discover them!

Okay, sure, I'm old now, but I was a teen in the 70s, and I honestly feel sorry for kids today and what they get fed as "music". All computerized, all lip syncing, and when I was a teen we got artists who actually played their instruments in concert and actually sang their songs. Nobody was "singing" about their pussy, or killing cops, or anything else like that.

This song was recorded in 1975. Auto tune didn't come into existence until 20 years later.
This was the first music video put out to promote a song, 6 years before MTV.
If you like opera listen to Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe (Spanish opera singer) song Barcelona.
Freddie was a fan of Caballe and he wrote an album of songs they did together.
The song Barcelona was used for the 1992 Olympics that were held in Barcelona.
    Sadly Freddie died in 1991.

There is no equal to Queen and Freddie Mercury. This rock and roll opera is a masterpiece that’s never been duplicated. All members sheer talent in music, highly educated and passionate. They built MTV and it was a great time for music. The 70’s were the greatest times for music. I believe Bohemian Rhapsody hit the #1 spot in several different decades, quite an accomplishment.

I feel that you'll be hooked and listening to more than 2 a month if you (and you should) go down the Queen rabbit hole. 👑👍No auto tune, wasn't around at this time. Freddie's voice sounded different in part because he always sang with passion and emotion, he never just "phoned it in". This video was made in 1975, when glam rock was popular. This song is unique, Freddie was working on three songs when he had the genius inspiration to combine them into this epic masterpiece. Nothing quite like it before or since.

Fun seeing your trance - more where that came from! Add the 1970s to your wish list as this song was released in 1975. Those "3 songs" woven together = a "rhapsody" and changed the music industry, rock song structure; launched MTV, inspireed artists then and now - all via a video that cost $5000 to make. It never stops. Huge music catalogue, plus Freddie's solo work (including opera with Monserrat Caballe - the first time crossover btwn rock & opera). Go for it!

Queen has a lot of amazing songs, you should definitely check them out. This song was released in the 70's, there are many great artists from the 70's that are worthy of checking out too. So many different genres.
The 80's were a lot of fun and some fantastic music.
I think it would be interesting to see you do a wide range of genres from the 70's and 80's to see what you really like and then take a deep dive into the artists that you really vibe with.
You'll probably gain a lot of subscribers when you doing "old" music.
(50's and 60's had some fantastic music too. The 50's was the start of rock and roll and was based on R&B from the 40's.
Music is all very interconnected and it's an amazing journey. I'm looking forward to watching your musical journey.

If you're really interested in hearing something unique not many react to then try out Barcelona by Freddie and the famed opera singer, Montserrat Cabelle. Since you said here that you like opera and obviously Queen then I think you will appreciate this pairing.

I hate to inform you but "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released in 1975. It was composed by Freddie Mercury and took over 3 weeks to record. Freddie never explained it"s meaning but did admit that it was 3 different songs that he had been working on but couldn't finish so he decided to mash them all together with some bridges and transitions to create "Bohemian Rhapsody. It was recorded on 24 track analog tape (digital didn't exist) using overdubbing of the choruses (which were sung by Freddie, Roger, & Brian) many times and then "bouncing" these down to successive sub-mixes. This technology was ahead of its time. (Remember: Autotune or anything like it didn't exist nor did synthesizers).
BTW - The opening where it shows all four members singing with Freddie's image sometimes overlaying them is sort of a false representation. Actually, the opening is only sung by Freddie who recorded 5 separate tracks of himself singing and harmonizing with himself.
Queen was a British rock group formed in 1970 consisting of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano
    John Deacon - Bass guitarist
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist
Brian May - Lead guitarist and vocalist
They were all exceptionally talented musicians and performers plus each of the 4 members of Queen composed music (I know of no other group that could claim this). Also, each member of Queen had songs that they compose (that were performed by Queen) that became hit singles.
The outfit reflects the time in rock history. It was the period of Glam Rock - a style of rock music first popular in the early 1970s, characterized by male performers wearing exaggeratedly flamboyant clothes and makeup.

For sheer beauty of music, Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen. Dunno why this song doesn't get more play, it is gorgeous.

As John Deacon (bass) doesn't sing, the other 3 guys sing the opera section together, but in the other parts of the song only Freddie sings. They used to take a lot of vocals and put it together.

I grew up in the 70's and this was close to miss the best. Next to queen, there are deep purple, led zeppelin, and so many more...

No auto tune in 1974 when it was recorded ,just pure natural talent, rhapsody is a mash up of songs telling one story .

Thank you for your reaction, and to the call out to us older people that actually got to live and love this music. Love it by listening, and more incredibly, live it by actually getting to see it live and most of the times, not being disappointed. Back then, musicians actually cared about their fans and played their hearts out.

Have you heard MJ's duets with Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen? "State of Shock" and "There's More to Life Than This"?
MJ was a big Freddie fan.
I really enjoyed this review. And look forward to more reviews. Freddie did so many beautiful songs in so many different styles including an album, apart from Queen, with Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe. I hope you continue to explore their catalog. Well done!
