I just got a 2016 with 62k miles for $12k. Cadillac fixed my battery issue free of charge (pun intended) which is why it was so cheap.
The ELR's design has aged well. It still looks modern today.
I had a Cadillac with heated seats several years ago. After a while, though, the front passenger seat heater started working only intermittently and it ultimately caught fire. It turned out one of the connectors was shorting out. Since Kathy's is doing the same thing,. it would be a good idea to have it checked out. Mine was till under warranty so it was repaired quickly, but it scared us. Technology has improved since then - at least I hope so.
Thanks for getting that left over doughtnut Kathy - it was driving me nuts.

I am in Sacramento, California and I am I Marriage and Family Therapist, the interaction between you and your wife Kathy is truly a joy to watch. Seeing and hearing the bumps you encountered on the LIE made me a little homesick. Lived on LI for over 45 years before moving down to Raleigh, recently. The roads down here are so much smoother, that I sometimes miss those potholes. NOT!!! 😄
Yes, we Volt/ELR's ARE a community. We take care of our cars not quite like a detailer, but properly. PS my wife's name is also Cathy, and it'll be 50 yrs. in December. I never saw or heard the 'movie' story, but MINE is named Eleanor, but from the Rolls-Royce flying lady "Ecstacy" sculpture model's name. ( Look up R-R lore.) Use Mobil 1!
Not long after I got my 2017 Bolt EV, back in the spring of 2018, a random Volt driver gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up as I passed him on the interstate.
Also from old Turtles song... "Eleanor, gee I think you're swell, and you really do me well, you're my pride and joy, etc cetera"

There is someone in my neighborhood who has the same 2024 BMW iX in color (Blue Ridge Mountain) and style. We wave to each other when we pass by or at the turning stop. :)
I like the love of Dave to Cadillac ELR as well as his honesty about absolute lack of any practicality in this vehicle.
I had a Volt for 5 years here in Australia. Great car for its time. And still looks great today. Miss it.

In 2001, with the EV1, and in 2008, with the Volt, ELR, GM was so far ahead of the competition with EV technology. And then the Obama regime removed Rick Wagoner, and Bob Lutz, took the company from the bond holders and gave it away to their UAW cronies, and put Mary Barra in charge who did not prioritize EVs. Rick and Bob certainly did not know what they had, either. They could be dominating the EV world today. I knew back then . I drove the EV1 at a GM event.
I've had 3 volts and the family has the ELR. They are great vehicles.
GM announced this last week that they are bringing back their plug in hybrid! Mary Bara announced it during their earnings call.
