Send Kathy to SCCA driving school. Or at least autocross class. She loves drive fast. And IS good at it. Natural for how to drive fast and going around corners. My wife love her classes. And raced with me on weekends.

Enjoying the series! Addressing the gas issue, I can drive from Phoenix to San Diego without Having To Stop, and still get 38+ mpg. The engine use percentage really extends potential of vehicle lifetime with proper attention. Neglect kills ANY vehicle, but engineering thought this one through. Happy Volting

Fun Video. I worked for GM (especially Cadillac). When the Volt came out in 2010 the world was watching. GM leadership knew they had to get this technology right, right out of the gate. GM pulled it off and we saw very few quality issues with the Volt. The tech was used in the ELR and your right, the 2016 is the one to have. Cadillac made significant updates both in the propulsion system, suspension, steering, and brakes. I purchased a 2016 ELR this morning. It's got around 81K on the clock. It's identical to yours with the exception that the interior is black and suede with wood and carbon fiber accents. I look forward to more videos on your ELR. Cheers!!!

The Volt was so ahead of its time. I have a 2015 Volt with only 25K miles (I work at home), and I smile every time I drive it. GM is the poster child for incompetent management.

You'll never fix the heated seats, it will cost over a K

My wife and I drove both last decade. The sales reps at each dealer were horrible. Not supportive of these at all. Neither dealer kept a charge, so the ICE generator ran Almost continuously. The early software, had the ICE revving like a noisy banshee. Still, for me lots to love. My wife, NFW.. even when the Volt was discounted to about $24k, no interest. The ELR was absolute crap compared to Model S of the day. Still, something about these I still like. Especially, with pricing “pre Dave exposure” <$10k. In the end, finding rare (like these) earlier Model S or X is better value way to buy used EV.

Dave, you make a great "back seat" driver. How Kathy puts up with you, I don't know. 😆

  • @ArnoldWinters

    Great choice Dave.

The BMW I3 is a classic you should all get one

I wonder if there are some salvage seats that might be easier to swap into the driver's seat vs trying to repair the hole? I think other models of Cadillac, like the ATS, might have the same seat for more abundant options.

Always drive the Volt in "sport" mode, it's more responsive from zero. Unfortunately, everytime you restart the car, it defaults to "normal" and you have to hit the drive mode button again to get into sport. Drive in Low for more regen. As far as the noise in the back is concerned, it may be nothing. My son's 2011 does the same thing and we could not find any issues. There are some noise/vibration dampers on the back brakes that may be trying to lessen noise but not all of it.

"Don't hit that pole". Never change, Dave and Kathy

  • @ericgregori

Put the Volt in 'L' gear for a better 1 pedal experience.

  • @LindaCampbell-nz7mo

You two are so much fun. Thank you for teaming up!

  • @eriknonaka7713

I like Volt. It looks a lot nicer. Sad that GM decided to drop it. They should have kept it and turned it into Full EV and Hybrid EV/Gas. They should have dumped Bolt long time ago and kept Volt.

  • @ianjay5301

Too bad the Volt you have lacks the leather interior. I had the tan leather and it was every bit a nice as the Cadillac. I don't agree that the Volt styling makes it look plain. When I see one approaching, it makes every other four door vehicle look plain - the stance is perfect and the early model styling outclasses the second generation car by MILES. It looks like something from the future (and mine was a 2012). I have a Prius Prime on order - it at least approaches my old Volt in terms of style. Less practical electric range, but you can't have everything.

  • @dandaigle4546

you two are a hoot and fun to watch, love caddy's, both are very nice cars for what year they are
