The mini series follows book very closely, but here whether the Amazing actors or writers create a much more indelible interchange. “Not heavy enough for a bomb, is it, sir?” the attendant asked, and facetiously held the parcel to his ear. “I wouldn’t be so sure,” said Smiley, and they shared a good laugh together.
Series' version is better. No one in attendant's place would ask if it's a bomb, especially with clients around. You just don't use these types of words.
It's not a movie. It was a BBC mini series called 'Smiley's people' the follow up the the acclaimed 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' - both of them spy stories written by John Le Carré.
Rickman was a dismal actor ...zero personality ......TTSS was the definitive series ...each actor was a master barring Hywel Bennet but adequate in his role ....-this one however was to never capture the greatness again ......Dont even mention the gary oldman rubbish ......

A mini-series. Based on Le Carre's books, "Smiley's People" was a follow-up to the 1979 miniseries "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy."
