- This is a compilation of every Nuclear Reactor in the mod undergoing a nuclear meltdown in HBMs mod. Reactors are tricky to take care of and even then they run with certain risks on hand. This meltdown can be caused by lack of coolant / water , super hot running fuels , explosions nearby or a combination of these. So use these reactors with care :)

When you're in survival, its the worst day ever.
Imagine spending countless days grinding in survival and then one day you see the Digamma spear falling from the sky and you know there's nothing you can do and nowhere you can run so you just sit there while your Minecraft world flashes before your eyes and you question your life's decisions 🥲

I was playing on my server with friends, I invited my friend to my ZIRNOX reactor facility, my friend is a moron so the first thing he did was trying to make a penis out of nuclear rods, I said NO to him and told him that the location of rods changes the steam output, then everything was normal until reactor suddenly exploded
let me be really honest here.
compared to any other nuclear reactor mods i've played, HBM NTM definitely has the most satisfying explosions ever. developers really did spend their time well on making the explosions.
Yep no doubt about that , and it's not only the explosion animations but the overall animation and sounds in the mod overall. They developed the whole thing in an amazing way

My favorite one was the RBMK Reactor explosion! It was big and well animated!
Indeed , hands down it is one of the best animated explosions in minecraft
Fun fact №2: there is 4 slots at the texture of cyclotron, and if you insert 1 book of boxcar (black book) 1 thermonuclear ashes 1 diamond hammer and 1 Maksman coin in all slots it will change texture and if you meltdown it, it will create black hole

Could you make a video on how to deal with some of the nuclear reactor meltdowns? I always had a hard time living in a minecraft world after my RBMKs exploded, so it'd be awesome if there was some sort of guide on how to deal with all of that

@@iamawesomecat1 well you'll need to add all the X , Y and Z dimensions of the fusion reactor and the plasma heater combined which will make your room rectangular. Then just add 15-20 blocks to the X and Z side and 5-10 blocks to the Y side so you've room for walking and making a platform and placing down your tanks and stuff.
I don't remember the exact size of both the fusion reactor and plasma heater so I can't give you the exact size myself :D

Can you make a compilation on how to stabilize all these reactors too?
Tbh stabilizing these just boils down to careful operation , cause the option for automatic shutdown is only available for the research reactor as of now ...
So having more than enough water , not letting steam build up in the reactors and not using dangerous fuel types until absolutely necessary is what will stabilize most nuclear reactors in the mod. I will still see if this can be made into a video but yeah that's basically the gist of it

When I tried to explode the cyclotron, it made a balefire explosion instead of a nuclear one, I tried the same items as you, so do you know how to change it?
that shouldn't happen everytime it goes off ... cyclotron blowing up into a balefire explosion is a chance based thing. it can also spawn a blackhole sometimes

most of these reactors are available on ntm extended which is for 1.12.2

I just wish the AMS would still be capable of producing power cause the DFC might be way overpowered but the AMS definitely looks cooler
do different RBMK fuel rods have different meltdowns? if so, you should make a video displaying them
Nope every fuel has the same meltdown except for the Digamma fuel rod which summons a giant spear from the sky. I have made a video on that !

Ive been wondering Does the Molten Corium eat the ground in minecraft as it did IRL or does it still act as Lava and not eat whats under it and what do we do with Destroyed reactor cores after the reactors well melt down and explode?
Yeah it eats through pretty much every block which is not strong enough, that's why making a concrete containment around the building is so important

also i was trying to find an RBMK meltdown video in minecraft without any effects cos any other video will try to make it as cinematic as possible but it comes out as a glitchy-looking mess
Yeah the chunks do fly off far away an you have to collect each and every one of them to get rid of environmental radiation.
And as for adding effects I think the explosion itself is already so well made by default that there is no need for adding any additional cinematic effects
@@SavageVegeta last time i searched i was only shown the after and before of a meltdown but never the meltdown itself and the second video made a black and white filter then added some fake video noise so you couldnt know what was what

I have a question, Why do you need reactors? Like... Its all so confusing.
Reactors will serve two main purpose , producing power by making steam from water and depleting nuclear fuel to process
you'll need power to progress in the mod and make bigger machines and you'll need depleted fuel to recycle so you can get better fuel

hey, I was wondering if you could do a quick video on getting the coins used for some special items. I'm trying to test how to get the radiation coin but I can't get elementals to spawn from a meltdown, nevermind a mini boss version like the wiki describes. Thanks again.
I will look into it , I've had Meltdown elementals spawn near me but only a very few times and I was in creative when that happened.
I know for sure that the Maskman will spawn when you are undergound and have been irradiated cause that happened to us once on a server that I was playing on.

Happened to me on a semi-anarchy server. It was On the 1.12 version, so the 1x1x3 reactor was still in. It happened twice. RIP my wooden crates with all my loot (this happened a few months back)

@@SavageVegeta the windscale piles were two graphite moderated breeding reactors used by the British during the 1950s. They were cooled by large fans blowing air into them. They were fueled by uranium 235 cartridges that were loaded into the front of the reactor as old cartridges with Plutonium in them would fall out of the back into a cooling pool. In 1957 pile 1 caught fire and the incident was rated 5/7 on the nuclear incident scale. All the milk had to be destroyed after the accident and at least 240 cases of thyroid cancer have been linked to the incident. The reactor also produced tritum and i believe that is what caused the fire

@@SavageVegetawell there is another reactor however it's still undergoing updates however it is extremely different from the DFC however has some similarities it has an emitter 4 stabilizers and one fuel injector but that's the base this core reactor is possible of undergoing nuclear meltdown however it is a lot harder because it has coolant everything is already loaded up since its most recent update you can officially melt the antimatter reaktor AMS core

You need to get rid of all the broken blocks and debris , also let the molten fuel cool down before you do any of that. Cause I have tried using the Boron Fire Extinguisher but it doesn't seem to work
