- Hey guys Savage Vegeta back with another HBMs mod tutorial and in this video we are going to learn how to make a Dark Fusion Core reactor in HBMs mod. This is a monstrous reactor which produces several Giga HE of energy per tick , but this reactor is also very dangerous so be very cautious while using it. Enjoy !!!

Making the reactor even better:
You are in 3 dimensional space! Use the Y axis for the stabilizer and fuel injector so you can have two emitters and recievers.
Never EVER let the emitters be active while the containment is offline. It is worth building a complex redstone system that will ensure that in the event of power failure the containment field generator is the LAST thing to run out of power.
The reactor generates a lot of heat! While it doesnt have any mechanical effect a blanket of tungsten decoration blocks would do good for heat shielding, plus an airlock with fire proximity suits or liquidator suits.
This reactor isnt a "commit and forget" type of reactor. It guzzles expensive cryogel like crazy, never run it for extended periods of time unless you like your world looking like swiss cheese.
Each time you operate the reactor leave a sign on the stabilizer indicating the stabilizing lens durability both before and after operation as well as the total operation time. Not really important for singleplayer but if you are forgetful or playing with friends its always better safe then sorry.
I assume it explodes very spectacularly if the containment field fails.
I'll stick with my low risk power generation options for now.

Stacking emitter's can also maximize output of the DFC reactor
You are the only one I know of who makes useable tutorials on these late game things, I don’t know what the HBM’s tech mod community would do without you. Thank you.
Fun fact: the DFC at the strongest setup with the best fuel combination at 100% output and the thingy as the core will still need 6,22 days of constant running to charge completely the FEnSU, which is the best energy storage item in the mod, despite its absurd power.
Goes to show how crazy amount of power an EHE is lol , makes sense tho ... 1 with 18 zeroes in front is nothing to joke about haha
Max output DFC ~68.85 THE/t (thingy core, 100 emitters, BF-AS fuel, the catalyst doesn't matter; 1 HE=4 RF=1 IC2 Eu).
So you need ~1,78h to fill the FEnSU.
This is the most powerful source of energy in the minecraft universe (draconic reactor is garbage)
@@ntxprt2930 While this is correct (i got myself 74 THE/t once), It can be achieved only with said extreme setup, which nobody will make for real as its inviable and consumes too much cryogel.
And yeah the draconic reactor is not that strong, and i agree with everything you said.

@@SavageVegeta yeah I tested the reactor explosion and it goes through every block 💀. I’m beginning work on a facility with a DFC as the power source and right now the concern is lighting. Are there any mods that you know of that have modern ceiling lights for a lab/facility 🤔

I tested the dfc, for all you people doing it in survival, fortunately if it ever runs out of fuel, it should start getting smaller until it turns off. But, you have to worry about the stabilizer lens breaking, because if it does, you only have a few seconds to react before it explodes.
Edit: I forgot to say this, if you run out of cryogel, the emitter and the receiver will melt, wast of resources at least your base is still fine. Remember: DO NOT LEAVE THE SERVER WITH THE DFC ON, IT WILL LIKELY EXPLODE UPON REJOINING.

Just right click on the emitter and open it , once you're in the emitter interface switch off the emitter just like you switched it on :)

How do you obtain the FEnSU? The HBM wiki shows the materials needed to craft it but it doesn’t tell me how to actually craft it.
I guess the crafting is simply done by the Assembly machine like every other machine in HBMs mod. Its been a long time since I actually checked that.
Also try installing NEI mod as it will show you the crafting recipe for everything that is craftable. If I find something new I will get back to you
Do you know if this will explode if it's on when you leave a server? Or is it only when the server it self shuts down that it would blow up
It will explode if you leave it on and leave the server , then log in again ... If you don't login then it won't explode xd

Hey, if i try to set my emitter to 100 it doesnt save when i exit and i also dont see the bar change color when i click on the save button
Hmm that's weird , maybe cause you are using an outdated / broken version of HBMs mod. Cause I have been playing around with DFC's alot recently and I haven't had this problem. So my advice is to just use the latest version of HBMs mod , you can download it from their Github page

I want to build this but I am too scared of accidentally not turning it off and of logging out quickly and logging back in to see my base reduced to atoms so I’m going to go with the fusion reactor to be way more safe lol
That indeed is a very big risk xd , and yeah now with RBMK reactors added you can make some really compact and high energy density reactors if you don't want to use the fusion reactors as well

What all the precaution to avoid explosion? And will a bedrock confinement building contain an eventual explosion?
Don't let the reactor run out of supply power and fuel. Don't leave it turned on when you exit out of your game , always turn it off.
As for containment a bedrock structure won't do the trick as it will not destroy bedrock but will destroy everything in its 500 block radius which isn't bedrock ... So yeah

@@kijman1359 those blocks are bedrock oil deposit blocks most probably ... Cause if it destroys bedrock then it should destroy all blocks not selected ones

Yes it is self sustainable but it's recommended to have a buffer to storage block that will always keep supplying it with power so that incase you shut it down and start again you'll have the power needed to do that
hello, came across an issue with the dfc Emitter: when i change the value to 100, then leave when i come back its back to 0. why is that
never faced that bug before sorry, cause whenever set the value of an emitter to something and press the save button it keeps the value there even if I leave the chunk (but I always keep it loaded otherwise it goes boom) and when I exit the world I make sure to turn the emitter off otherwise once again it goes boom when I join back

Stop supplying power to the emitter and the core will shut down on it's own

I have a quick question I don't know if I built the reactor wrong but it refuses to work every time I build it and start it up it immediately melts down creating a large explosion killing me I think I may need to use the FEnSu to take power away from the reactor
it's not about energy at all, perhaps it's an incorrect setup, the lack of connection of one of the components, the end of the cryogel, and so on
Well if you set the Stabilizer correctly it shouldn't really meltdown, always make sure that is stabilizer is up and active and constantly receiving power before firing the beam on core. That should solve the issue.
And yes as stariymangust's comment said : cryogel connections are a must otherwise the emitter and receiver will melt

DFC is also my favorite reactor because of how easy it is to decorate! I usually go for a Sci fi space station because I have the Galacticraft mod.
@@AstrophelCassiopeiae pulsations I think are a result of fuel production not being able to catch up with consumption so the size will keep on fluctuating.
please tell me how it is safe to turn it off at first, so that later on restarting it does not explode
You gotta turn off the emitter before logging out of the world. When you don't have an emitter beam there will be no reaction in the core essentially shutting down the reaction.

You can use it without the core but it won't produce any power that way only consume power , so kinda kills the whole purpose xdd

So i was at the fuel injector part im using the reload mod and it wont work for some reason
If you're using fuel other than Deuterium and tritium then you'll need to put fluid identifiers in the fuel injectors to identify those fuels
Also 1.12.2 version of the mod is still not completed yet , maybe that's why but I've seen people build dfc in that version so it's kinda unlikely

No fluid identifiers aren't needed for any of the tanks / barrels in 1.12.2

im using the reloaded version of HBM and i cant get the deuterium or tritium in the fuel injector

DFC emitter refused to save the 100 I put in then I tried starting it anyway and my base got deleted

the burn effect was prevalent in a 10 block radius iirc , as for the armor I haven't tried whole lot of them in survival but you can give schrabidium armor a try in a creative world
What is safe distance in blocks?
I have not measured the exact distance but a rule of thumb is consider the the outermost emitter as your safe boundary. So if the core and emitter are 10 blocks apart then a 10x10 area from the core is a No Go Zone
for some reason mine turned into a black hole and sucked everything in and exploded..can you help me with that? i tried it 3 times over and all times it did that

try using ntm extended, dfc works properly in there
The emitter was stuck at one and it blew up but lucky for me i made a custom mod for me that does that automatically

Replace the DFC Receiver with tungsten crate, place some polonium billets in it and fire the DFC emitter, that will convert polonium into yharonite
It didnt work for me...
I dont know what is wrong, the laser just goes thru the DFC core! Totaly ignoring it!

Are you playing HBMs reloaded ? The version on 1.12.2 that is ?
Cause the laser going straight through has only two reasons I can think of , either you didn't place a singularity and catalysts in the DFC Core , when the core has nothing in it the laser will simply pass through.
Second reason can be the DFC reactor is completely broken in 1.12.2. i haven't tried building the reactor in reloaded so i don't really know

My emitter melted when i started it, it just turned into a lava block

None I guess , DFC Reactor can be made entirely with only HBMs

It doesn't work :( when i left click the core everything it's at 100% except the heat saturation and the core isn't blue and big it's just regular
Did you double check that you placed the proper core and catalyst in there ?

It has changed in the recent updates bro , not only the recipe for the core but also for all the dfc components. I highly recommend using NEI mod to check out all the crafting recipes bro

It had some issues the last I checked , haven't played reloaded in a long time so I can't say for sure cause there were updates

you can make it work on phone by installing pojav launcher which lets you run java minecraft from mobile. aside from that there is no way as this is a java only mod

MY GUI DOESN'T HAVE THE FLUID IDENTIFIER PLACE AND THE INFINITE BARREL DOESN'T WORK, AND ALSO THE FUEL INJECTOR DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE TEITIUM BEING INJECTED
Well in NTM reloaded there is no need placeholder for fluid identifiers in any of the fluid storage units. Instead you can place any fluid in the barrel and then the barrel will be registered to that fluid type. So in order to use the infinite barrel first place some of the fluid in the barrel that you want to use and then place an infinite barrel and that will make the fluid infinite.
Also for the fuel injector make sure that you first use the fluid identifier in it to mark the fuel that you are going to use ... deuterium and tritium are the default fuel iirc so it shouldn't be absolutely necessary but try it just in case and see of that is the issue here

literally the most simple design for a dfc reactor and it still works fine
what zbout all the steel barrels and all those fluids oyu were using? the video was too fast and i couldnt catch up on what you were doing. + litterly all people agree that its the most difficult reactor to build in the history of HBM.@@SavageVegeta
@@nugget127 DFC isn't difficult at all, if you want actually design complexity RBMK is the reactor for you xd
Also as for barrels the ones I placed around the fuel injectors are for the fuel that you're gonna use. For the simplest design you can use liquid hydrogen and deuterium
As for the other barrels they are for supplying cryogel to the emitter and reciver
Also I've made newer videos on other dfc designs so maybe check em out but yeah this design right here isn't "outdated" as it still is the standard way of making a DFC
