      You can hack the entire degree while in the military if you're serious about getting it done! I'd take advantage of military tuition benefits, enroll in a hackable school, and hack the entire degree from inside the school if it was me. But there are a number of ways to do it.

    Hello Ryan
    My son recently separated from the US Navy and I think CLEP and Competency Based Education testing are perfect vehicles for him to attain his degree.
    He’s extremely smart. The challenge is that after HS; he enrolled in a top state university, but, his heart wasn’t in it. Things didn’t go well that semester.
    The following year, he joined the USN after scoring a 92 on the ASVAB. He’s now transitioned to the Reserves.
    One of his frustrations is all the busywork & BS Homework issued by instructors.
    I would love to arrange a consult with you and him, assuming you have time and your fee is reasonable.
    Let me know.
    Thx from a proud Navy dad.

    I highly recommend CLEPs. I am retired Air Force, so was very familiar with the CLEP programs. (Many not in the military are not familiar, as of course, colleges do not promote them. (They lose money). I successfully CLEPed a total of 12 CLEP's, DSST's. That's 1 year of college and 6 credits toward my Masters (Spanish, as I needed 6 more credits in a language. It saves so much money. Of course, military can take them free,,, but the current $90 per test is most likely less than a required class book would cost. Plus, I feel that I learned just as much, (if not more), by self studying to pass.

      If you only need a few classes, CLEP is amazing! Definitely better than taking another semester or 2 of school. If you're starting from the beginning, and are wanting to Test Out of all 120 credits, there are some smoother strategies.

    Hold on because I just realized that sometimes a school requires a certain grade on the clep so while French Language is one that people pass easier, a school like Pensacola Christian (I just learned) requires a 59 or 63, while they require a 50 on most of their other tests. It is all so complicated...

    Thank you for this! I have a high school student and a college student. How did you prepare for the CLEP exams? Is their expert video lectures products out there specially for CLEP?

    I have a soon to be 16 year old that is looking into the nursing field. We live in a state that has early college programs which could allow her to graduate w an associates at 18?
    How do you personally feel about that, would you consider doing the program plus getting some of the CLEP credits? Or would it be easier for her to focus her year on CLEP credits apart from the early college program… I hope that makes sense 🤣
    Thank you for your time!

      Personally, I'd graduate high school early and jump straight into college. My youngest student doing this is 16 years old, and is in a situation where he can have his Bachelor's and Master's by 18. It's definitely more effective than taking college courses in high school. You're welcome to email me if you have further questions... I may be able to help you map something out.. (ryan@9monthgrad.com)

      @@9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671 thank you so much! We are actually a homeschooling family, I don’t know if you’ve mentored any students w the same background?

      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Před rokem +2

      Absolutely. I've seen homeschooled students have great success with this. My own kids are in elementary school. But we're thinking of allowing them to homeschool and accelerate high school, and shooting for Master's Degrees by 18.
