Both of those glitches are extremely difficult to do on command and doing them back to back requires an incredible mastery of the game's mechanics and godlike timing. Bravo.

Hexen is in my opinion. I played first on ps1 it’s impossible on n64 because you can set all enemies to come bk to an area after walking in and out a door.
I always tell people this is the greatest game on any console ever. Probably never going to change my opinion on that lol

I remember pre ordering this and reading about how much the graphics pushed the original nes hardware. It didn’t disappoint this looked absolutely amazing at the time. I still played it constantly even after I got my snes. I never gotten tired of this or super Mario world.
Yeah, I got it for Xmas the year it came out, and I still play it to this day. One of the greats for sure.
I got it on the nes online for switch and am still mot dissapointed by the graphics

I'd never downgrade the skill this takes but you can't replace the feeling of fluting twice to level 7 then getting here as your preteen heart beats outta your chest dodging the hands and navigating the dark. Then finding the way to make bowser off himself into the abyss. It's just the best game ever. They knew what they were doing. Ty to the devs and ty to the speedrunners for making days and years flood back in minuets. Its all worth it. But the devs def and you runners for dedication. The love don't stop.

I tried to tie the first level time. i did it! seriously, ive been sitting here trying over and over, analyzing the video and improving and i finally after over 2 hours with sore thumbs i saw the legendary number 294.

I still have my Nes+smb3 and once in a year take it out and play it through - havent lost a touch, but back in the day as a kid, damn you felt like a master completing the game and beating friends.
I didn't know you could beat Bowser with fireballs in SMB 3! I also didn't know about the secret pathway to Bowser's chamber.

2.Super Mario World (welcomed yoshi and many secrets)
3.Super Mario Bros 3 (very hard and fun at many points and some game changing secrets)

My most played game as a child. Only thing that stopped me from doing a speedrun is i could never figure out which were the right doors in the last part of World 8.

Each one has a chance to grab you every other frame, but its possible to not get any, or get any combination of them
It's RNG. More or less every WR has had no hands in World 8. It's not a big deal seeing as a run takes 10-15 minutes.
I can attest that I’ve gone through the hand traps and not been grabbed.. it happens randomly
+Sopwithcamel44 Each hand has a 50% chance of grabbing you. There are three hands in total, on the first, third and fifth tiles. Quick maths tells me that there is a 1/8 chance of you not getting grabbed at all. That means that 7 out of every 8 world record pace runs can end by being grabbed by any of these hands. It is known as one of the biggest run-killers in speedrunning.

Actually, Mario's flute comes from the original Zelda's whistle, which also summoned whirlwinds to warp you around.
Although you may be interested to know that the fairy fountain theme is actually a remix of Super Mario Bros. 3's Water World map theme.

This comment section is hecking my shtiff whatever that would mean but id like to clean things up. This is a speedrun. It is called a speedrun because you clear the game as fast as possible. You dont have to beat all the levels but only the final goal which would in this case be bowser. There are also categories in speedruns. Im not a big watcher on smb3 so i dont know what category this is but this is probably an any%. This means you try to complete the game as fast as possible by any means which includes glitches. Glitches are fairgame in speedrunning unless the category says otherwise like any% glitchless. Speedrunners do not follow the rules of the game but the rules of the category and speedrun. They can do whatever they want in the category despite what the game says. Cheating is when someone would break these rules like using glitches in a glitchless run where youre not supposed to or using external stuff like savestates or frame advance or turbo or whatever. Categories have certain rules in speedruns that only account to that one category. Speedruns are meant to complete the game as fast as possible. Yes this video is old and probably no one is even caring anymore but its 2 am and im bored so i did this. Kbye

the only whistle I knew about that existed in-game was in level 3 where you press down on the white block at the end for 5 seconds to go behind the backdrop. I didn't know about the one in the first castle. elel

It's just luck. Each of the three levels got a 50% chance of grabbing you into it. So getting through all of them is a chance of 12.5%. Nothing you can do about it.
