But that's mario usually is if you remember, you just go under the boss or jump and save the princess. Last stage usually takes like 5-10 seconds to complete. lol

At least this one has good level design elements, unlike some SMB1 impossible levels that you can't possibly beat without restarting hundreds of times because there's impossible to guess traps everywhere. This one is actually based on skills rather than memorizing where all the unforgiving traps are.

The Tanooki suit made it look twice as easy, without that, I don't think the uploader would've had that much ease in jumping past them.

Yeah, I don't do that. I tell my students to try their best while admitting that the test kicked my ass the night before, while trying to figure out the directions/instructions. 😅 Those state exams are no joke. In fact, I overheard younger students talking among themselves that they are thankful for having me as the proctor, because of how slowly I read the instructions and questions so that everyone has an equal opportunity to think over that section. I am thankful to have never gone through this garbage. I was the last generation to graduate without the stresses of FCAT, FSA or other state exams that are pressured and pushed onto young folks today... and yes, we are talking about 20 years ago. I just don;t get it really. All that exams do is test whether or not you are a great test taker that is all. I prefer presentations and in-class discussions. That tells me more about what you know than some pen and paper traditional exam. The only pen and paper test I would give that makes any sense would be Spelling Tests. Those show me your levels on Vocabulary (memorization) and Phonemic Awareness (listening and segmenting) are, then again I get these from Bell Ringer journal entries, so I even question the need for Spelling Tests. 🤷♀️Too bad I am alone at thinking these things thoroughly. I wish you young folks all of the luck in the world.

To clarify, glitch mechanics mastery (to ME) are those which are required just to navigate which are not under regular gameplay: SMB air and Super Mario Forever. Granted these are ROMhacks and we're talking about Mario maker here...but in the big picture the two really aren't all that different from each other. But, well you get my point: the extremes.

Yes. In terms of tropes, it's both a game mechanic and a plot device called deus ex machina.
While I am amazed at the game play, this is the kind of stuff that would lead to rage quits from any normal game. Cheers for completing it!
This is an incredibly designed level. Yes it looks hard, but just the right amount of hard to make it fun and want you to keep going.

Good level design here. It has gradual difficulty increases in a given challenge theme, and it telegraphs deadly hazards like lava pits by letting you get a look at them while you complete a different section. The only thing I would change is to shorten the Thwomp sequence, as that slowed things down too much.

Mario Maker levels always have tons of blind jumps, invisible coin blocks and near-impossible obstacle courses, and they never let you keep powerups, which are only used so that you can take damage at some section.
I have no idea why fanhack people like those kinds of levels so much, it's much more interesting when levels are hard _but fair,_ like the hardest levels in SMB3 for example.
Also, one problem with the unbalanced artificial challenge in a lot of Mario Maker levels is that it is only temporary - once you have learned the blind jumps and found the invisible coin blocks, they will never cause any trouble anymore at all.
It's like a jumpscare - effective the first time, but after that, you will know that it's coming.
I think it added a certain pucker factor. Not everything has to move a million miles an hour.

This is interesting and fun to watch. I was born in 1983. Been playing Nintendo since 1987 into the the early 2000s. Now i just watch people play games. The skill level here is unreal.

Yosef Andrew . agreed. not only is it full of lava and fireballs and cannons that fire bullets there's also way too many spikes he made the level way too spikey. i khow this is that mario maker game where players design their own levels but the guy didn't have to make it this difficult. it's looks almost impossible he added way too many spikes why so many spikes if you're looking for a challenge you got it and levels don't get any harder then this.

I like this one. It's challenging enough, but for all the right reasons, not just enemy and projectile spam, but it's actually decently crafted and well thought out. Actually feels like you're at the mercy of your own skill, and not of the creator.
