  • Beth’s Tinnitus Success Story: A Cyclist and Mother Working in Laboratory Sales
Beth’s tinnitus, which she describes as a high-pitched, hissing sound, began very suddenly at Christmas time. The noise continued 24/7, disrupting her work and personal life and causing severe anxiety.
Beth found that she couldn’t do her job properly due to the constant disruption of her tinnitus symptoms. She states that even when trying to do something as simple as composing an email: “I couldn’t put a sentence together.”
Beth was so disturbed by her tinnitus symptoms that she even considered taking three months off from work in order to de-stress (as stress can intensify tinnitus symptoms).
She explored many treatment options, from an audiologist to an acupuncturist, but no one offered relief. Beth was so distressed that she says she would have tried anything to silence her tinnitus. However, nothing worked until she arrived at Sound Relief Hearing Center. After one consultation, she experienced a newfound hope. Why? As she explains, Dr. Julie gets it.
After her initial appointment at Sound Relief, Beth found herself with restored hope, knowing in her heart that the treatment would work thanks to the scientific explanation offered by Dr. Julie and the staff at Sound Relief. After a week of tone therapy, Beth found that the anxiety surrounding her tinnitus had completely vanished.
Now, after only three months of sound therapy, Beth is feeling much more like her old self. While she is still experiencing tinnitus symptoms (which is to be expected, as Dr. Julie explained it will take six months to a year to get them fully under control), her anxiety has completely vanished. Thanks to this, Beth is now able to enjoy her job and leisure activities like she once did.
Beth urges everyone living with tinnitus to “not be scared, not be skeptical, not be embarrassed. It’s just part of life . . . but you don’t have to live with it.”
Each individual tinnitus experience is unique and requires personalized care. Our goal is to provide solutions that put you in control of your hearing health. The FDA approved tinnitus treatments at Sound Relief Hearing Center will help you find relief. Stop delaying and give us a call.

You are so right. Being kind to yourself and surrounding yourself with positive people and energy helps. Stress is such a factor. I tried masking hearing aid in the affected ear but it is not cheap. Eliminate stress and don't be afraid of tinnitus..there are ways to cope to the point it will go. Our bodies tell us in ways that you are ignoring problems that aren't being addressed. It's a very strange annoying thing to experience. Mine is not consistently the same and at times isn't noticeable. Other times it's so present that I find it hard to focus. I believe it will go away eventually.

I have been tormented with very high pitch tinnitus for over 6 years, it's definitely not something I've ever gotten used to. I can't afford several thousand dollars for hearing aids. Living paycheck to paycheck. It really sucks dealing with this, and having no hope. Even if they find a true cure, I'd never be able to afford it. No hope, nothing to be optimistic about, and it sucks!

Beth, I'd love to chat with you if you'd be so kind. I've had tinnitus for over 40 years. I got when I was 18 and I am now 64. At times it has been unbearable. I also have neck issues which are giving me muscle tension headaches. As I am POSITIVE you can imagine the headaches make the tinnitus worse (probably from the stress) which then makes the headache worse. The viscous cycle is just debilitating. I finally decided to retire from work at the beginning of the year. Sadly I didn't make that because I was just unable to concentrate enough to think. My Dr. had me work on a reduced schedule but even that I couldn't do. Also, as I'm sure you understand, I have bad days and WORSE days. On the bad days, I can mostly function. On the worse days I just go through the motions of being alive until it's time for bed. Then I hope that I can get up in the morning and at least just be in bad shape and not horrible.

@@jasonedenfield7189 I have tinnitus, really bad, and it got permanently worse after my first covid vax, (ended up getting covid anyway go figure) and yes, you can get used to it.. I have 2 stents in my heart, 2 excruciating back surgeries, I know pain and suffering, you just have to get over it. Yes I know how that sounds but ya know what, that's what it takes. Here's how.. it's just a noise in your head, so what! Yes if you are weak and don't know what real pain is, then you can't handle it and kill yourself.. I know there are reasons one might want or need to end it all, but you are way stronger than you know, you just have to realize it's just a sound, yes annoying, but it doesn't physically hurt, you don't have a hot poker in your eye.. yes it's 24/7.. so what? There are lots of people with ailments that are permanent, it's life. Just know that once you stop freaking out about it and accept it, it's just a freaking noise in your head.. as I type this my head is ringing full on crazy, ya know what, I don't care anymore. It doesn't matter, carry on. I've been a union carpenter for 30 years, lots of loud noise, (among other insanity most people not in construction could even imagine) I also played guitar in bands my whole life. My dad lived through world war 2 in the navy airborn, I'm sure his ears were ringing too, but never heard him complain about anything. The ringing in my head is now like my friend, I think if it stopped ringing it would scare me more. Most people think it's their ears ringing, it's actually in your brain, the noise floor has been raised and will never go back so don't believe anyone who says they have a cure, they may figure something out one day, but it ain't here yet.
All true, so there, stop worrying about it, nothing you can do, trust me learn to like it or be a pussy. (I never said I was a great public speaker).

It's been over 3 years.. how is Beth doing? I've had a little tinnitus off and on over my 45 years but about 6 months ago it kicked in full time and fairly loud and consistent, a very high frequency.. I've got perfect pitch and it sounds like a very high "A".. and in both ears, coming from the center of my head. I went to an audiologist locally here in Eugene Oregon and was told my hearing was good and on par for my age which was nice to hear(no pun intended)... but they only gave me ideas for masking the sound like an android app that distracts the noise. Even though the sound is annoying and loud if it's quiet it hasn't ruined my life yet.. I'd only be very depressed if I knew it was here to stay.. which it's starting to feel like. Anyway.. again how are people doing with the treatment? Is there any statistic for this soundrelief treatment?
