Mine was about 70,000 or slightly more which is a constant tone I hear all the time. Sometimes louder, sometimes softer.
About 4,000 Hz.
It's around 12,000 Hz - 16, 000 Hz
8k is where the sound matches with the noise in my head.

@@davidaron4927 I got my ears tested and they found I had hearing loss on the high frequencies, low frequency was fine. When you have hearing loss, your ears try to compensate and so you can develop tinnitus. They said I could look at an hearing aid so I did. I tried all the hearing aids ranging from €200 to €4000. I found the €200 as effective as the €4000 and that’s what I bought. I don’t know the name of the one I have but I will have a look and come back to you. All I can say is, when I have it on my tinnitus is gone and I can hear soo much more. It make me soo happy 😊

4000Hz in one ear and 8000Hz in the other. It was amazing to hear near quiet when the tones matched!

Something like this happened to me six month into my unilateral tinnitus after a sudden hearing loss . The audiologist at the time play all different tones and at some point my tinnitus went very low that i could barely hear it for a while. That was more that 3 years ago. Nowadays my tinnitus is multi-tone and bilateral kind of nasty. Finding the pitch of your tinnitus is only useful for those with a clearly mono-tone which is easier to treat.
I found the reason for tinnitus going softer after listening so some pure tones. Its well known as residual inhibition. Residual inhibition (RI) refers to the phenomenon of transient tinnitus loudness suppression after exposure to an acoustic stimulus (Roberts et al., 2008; Terry et al., 1983). It was first described more than 100 years ago by Spaulding (1903) and systematically studied by Feldmann in the 1970s (Feldmann, 1971).
It did slightly temporarily reduce mine as well. I'm trying to listen to hear my frequency, but it disappearing when I'm listening for it makes it a bit difficult.
Mine is tonal mainly with occasional changes or additions of buzzing and screeching. And a few other not on the list. A digital computer sound and random pops like in the movies when a grenade goes off and you hear the sound of the character hears temporarily.

I've had tinnitus all of my life. I have no memory of not hearing it, so it's never really bothered me. I hear 3 different sounds, but the tonal sound is the loudest for me. The pitch at 8000hz was a very close match. Pretty interesting as I've never had anyone do this test before.

This is quite interesting, thanks! My more annoying tones are , I guesstimate to be between 800 hz - 1500 hz. I no longer hear tones around 6000. The extremely low tones are so soothing I wish I could have a long low tone App. Even brown noise & delta although helpful are not really low enough for me.

10 years into this syndrome, had a really hard time the first year or so.. got depressed, lost sleep, lost my mind. As time went on i learned to have some coping mechanisms.
Just found this video and im hovering right around 8,000 as many others. I wanted to NOT read the comments first. But now feel some comfort(as hard as it to say) that there are others out there "like me". For the longest time I felt like i was on an island, with a band of whistle blowers and chimes.
My tinnitus is a cacophony of frequencies. It's difficult to match so many. If you can imagine a warm summer evening beside a pond. The tinnitus is an exact match for every insect and tree frog you hear, complete with the quavers, wavers, and staccatos. It's incredible what you learn to live with .

Agree, my tinnitus is not described by a simple note or frequency. The closest example I can give is a bunch of Cicada insects at night!
That’s how mine is multiple pitches with the whirring sound of night bugs with some clicking thrown in, it never stops, it never stops. I took alieve for about a week for arthritis pain in my knees and it made the tinnitus unbearably loud I’ve forgotten what total silence sounds like now. Mine started in the mid seventies working on ventilation fans on SSBN’S.

This is a very interesting test. Thank you for sharing this. I like it. I checked in around 400MH. I could hear the sound going up a little bit more than eventually completely disappeared. I’ll experiment with this some more but I think 4000 might be in my range.😊

About 8000Hz for me, but I think there may be two slightly different tones. Had it since childhood. Was in my teens before I tried to describe it to my friends. Back then I used to think it was the literal sound of silence . Took a few more years before I ever heard of tinnitus and realized the sound wasn’t ambient.

Same for me! I’m only 18 now had it a few years and I think mine are two different tones my left is definitely around 8000hz and my right probably around 4-6000 it’s hard to pin point! Any suggestions for relief?

8000 for me too. I was in Jr high before I realized not everyone had an internal ringing noise.
Mine actually went higher than your choices. I could always hear mine going on over the sounds that were playing. It actually vibrates my eardrum at times. Mine tends to go on for awhile then completely stops, it also tends to create a conversation like effect where the sounds vary up and down high and low. Also has more than one frequency at a time, I can hear up to 3 frequencies going on at the same time. Never a boring moment...haha.
I have always been trying to explain to people since my late teens (hearing damage due to constant prolonged exposure to industrial environments growing up in my family) ... I am almost 57 now. I have finally played for my wife what I hear 24/7 and loudly. No medical treatment has helped ... yet. Very loud 13.5kHz through 15kHz+ in a scanning heterodyning fashion. I have been somewhat been able to 'ignore it', until i actually think about it and its as loud as ever. She couldn't stand the frequencies and she finally apologized for not understanding what I've been going through to this day. Just searched for this on YT today and finally found this. No other source has been able to recreate this at such high frequencies. Thank you for this tool. I know this is feedback in my brain. I have forgotten long ago what silence is. I hear something in Sweden I think might help. Not here in the states yet.
This is fascinating. Mine is about 10,000+Hz. I was in a hydroplane car crash and hit my head 3 times while violently spinning counterclockwise and bouncing into a guardrail a few times. It affected speech, language, and executive functioning (cognitive) and also caused proprioception and vestibular issues. That was July 10, 2023, and it is now April 3, 2024, and although I'm much better, I'm still recovering from the TBI - which includes this ringing!!! I LOVE being able to share this with family and friends so they can hear it, too (like my Speech/Language Pathologist!). Thank you so much for this!
Mine was matched at about 4000htz ...I've suffered since a teenager with standing too close to loud music speakers ...but now 40 years later its definitely there as a continuous high-pitched hissing sound 24/7 I hear it louder if I've been out say in a shopping mall or social setting like a dinner or pub where everyone is talking loudly...I'll get home and the hissing is extra loud and noticeable. I hate it.
My age is 32 but 1 ear ringing very high tinnitus after an accident....8th nerve problem....if treatment is possible so please help me 🙏

same here, I got mine from a rock concert in the middle of the 80's. For me it was about 4k. From 8k and up, there is no sound at all
Mine to me, sounds like crickets you might hear after dark during the spring or summer, although alternately I also often get a kind of buzzing/ringing sound. I can sometimes hear either of the sounds above other noise around me, especially if the other noise is quiet or muffled
about 10k Hz is what I hear non stop. So anoying. I went to an ENT doctor this week, who said my ears, nose, and throat are all in great shape. Cleaned a tiny bit of wax (made no difference) Ordered a hearing test for symmetry, to rule out anything serious (I've had this for almost 20 years, so I don't think it's anything like a tumor, and I also feel I hear just as well out of both ears) And basically told me that if that comes back ok, I'm just stuck with it. I don't like that answer. There are devices that can mask the frequency, but they are expensive if not prescribed. I guess that's what I was hoping for. He basically told me "nope" Second opinion? Not sure. I'm just done living with this. Most of the time, I just zone it out. But if I ever stop to "listen" to it, I can't make it stop. If that makes any sense. I'd love to know if anyone else has anything to say about all of this.

I feel the same way. Mine is up there around 9000 but I zone out too because I'm just stuck in the ringing. Sometimes I can't even hear anyone talking to me cause I'm focused on the ringing. It's deffinetly not fun. Had mine since I was 17 or 18. Definitely worse then it used to be

I have my first ET appointment on June 27th. The place is book up I can't get on sooner. My ears always rings but goes away. However, this time 3 days in a row won't go away. I had to call off from work today. The ringing was so bad caused a have an mirgriane. In addition ringing also feels pressure around my eyes. I ended up having an occipital seizure. I been seizure free until today. When I see the ET doc in June. I just know the ET will say I'm fine nothing is wrong.
While trying to educate myself about tinnitus, I found your videos, in particular "Match your Tinnitus Frequency" very helpful. Unfortunately, I live in the USA and cannot come to your clinic for consultation. I have been wearing hearing aids for about 15 years and not considered my progressing hearing loss as a particular burden. I am 84. According to the latest audiograms, I am at the stage of severe hearing loss. My tinnitus became gradually noticeable over the last 3-4 months, and was diagnosed by my ENT doctor as the result of recurring sinus infections following my getting Covid-19 in Sept 2022. It is intermittent, and most noticeable when I wake up at night with a roaring variable volume, sounding similar to when being a passenger on an airplane and the pilot keeps changing the engine thrust prior to landing. After a while, it becomes less or not noticeable. Thank you for your excellent videos which will help me when discussing my case with a specialist.

I am 65 years old with a bachelors degree in music-I played trumpet throughout high school and college. In your test, I could hear all the tones up to 13kHz, and nothing beyond. However, the tones from 6.5kHz to 7kHz transitioned from the left ear to the right ear, and then back to the left ear by the time it reached 8kHz. The tone that closely matched my constant tinnitus tone was 8kHz. My tones are both airy and piercing at the same time. Constant, never turns off, and louder if I consume alcohol, which I rarely do.
Lucky for me, the tones are not dissonant; that would drive me mad. heh!

I respect your videos 100% I just came across your channel and was very focused on the information,I've had it since I was 13 years old idk what caused it exactly all i know is I woke up one school morning and I started hearing it but never bothered to say anything to my parents because idk I guess I was just nervous to go to the doctor 😅 it was stupid but around 18 I'd when I finally spoke about it.Im still struggling at times but I'm not letting it stop me I believe I can overcome my tinnitus and move forward in life.

Mine seemed to appear one day when I was 12 or 13. It subsided but has always been there.Being a musician obviously worsened it, but in last two years it has gone ballistic.So loud, I usually have to zone out on couch and hope I fall asleep to get some relief. I was quite intrigued by the fact that sometimes anethesia can trigger it. I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy and a sigmoidoscopy in last 4 years. I think it worsened after the stomach scope. To anyone suffering, I wish you well and may we all find relief from this. My frequency varies but the constant is around 8000 or higher.

For me the sound dipped out massively just before 5khz, came back and then faded away by about 12-14khz (masked by my tinnitus) but I felt that mine was like around 8-10k (more than one tone) and sounded very similar to the version of yours.
I heard a strong match across the range from 3.5k to 4.5k. Also, I did not hear anything beyond 8.5k, but long years of rock music and chain saws may be the cause of that. My tinnitus has never bothered me because my brain interprets it as the sound of the woods at night. The same sounds I heard as an early teen listening out my window on hot summer nights. Crickets and katydids on the left, small frogs and unidentified insects to the right, so rather comforting overall. Caused by a very loud (+120db) high-pitched ringing from hitting part of a Mini's suspension with a brass hammer, I also have a crackle, in my left only, when exposed to high-frequency multi-pitch sounds, such as an organ chord.
hi I have ear problems like you, but I'm not sure mine is crackle because I'm not native English speaker. When I hear everyday sound and if it's loud or even mild sound or certain sounds my ear make noise in my ear also some pounding sensation. is this like yours? and it's been 4 months still bothering me :(
I can start hearing the tone at 125hz but the tone that I frequently here is 8000hz but then shortly fades away. That was a very good test thank you for sharing
I think about 9,000 Hz is about the max that I can hear, which is about what I hear all the time (my Tinnitus frequency I think). I'm 71 years old and have been a drummer since 1964 and playing in rock bands till about 7 years ago. Also listening to music with head phones or loud speakers in earlier years. Thank You for this very helpful information. Mine seems to have gotten worse/louder in the past month.

Thanks for your fantastic videos Mathew.. I often get a temporary higher pitched sound, usually in the right side which fortunately lasts less than a minute, but from this test 4000 hz masks the constant hiss from the left side. Keep up the good work.

10,000 Hz is close, and once I hear that pitch, the tinnitus reduces significantly. I found that i get a similar experience coming out of the shower (white noise) where I have no tinnitus for any where from 20 minutes to several hours. Also, I tend to hear it on my left side more than right.
I have the same experience with showering, which means I am now ultra clean all the time!!! Anything for some relief.
I've always heard what i call my inner cord. As the shuman resinance has stepped up, so has this oscillating cord I hear. I tape into t uring meditaton along with my breath. This sound scape never causes me discomfort. Closs to that 4000Hz cord.💖💖💖

Mine was matched sometime after 3000. I have had it all of my life. One thing to note, on 2 occasions in my adult lifetime, my tinnitus completely stopped, for a few seconds, and I experienced complete silence.
...and you still savour that memory. I had a complete silence for half an hour a couple of years ago. I couldn't move, I was so amazed by the silence ! Unluckily it came back and never left again.

Mine is 4000 Hz and oddly I couldn’t hear the higher ones. I am scheduled for hearing test and ENT appointments. Tinnitus started after oral surgery a few years ago and drives me crazy on quiet Saturday mornings. I am going to try turning on the radio this weekend, plus I will watch your other videos. Thanks.
I find audio books are relaxing and quieten it down, whereas tv must have an underlying frequency that disturbs mine as I start to buzz badly. I use audio books to fall to sleep at night, I have them on very low with airbuds so no wires in the bed and mix that up with crickets at other times.

I found my tinnitus seems to be 8000+. I have lost my hearing aids which were given to me on the NHS and work great. Just applied for two more!
Tried a technique I picked up from one of your commenters where he mentioned that tensing the jaw muscles provided some relief. I tried it and it was(to me) a significant reduction of loudness if only just during the muscle tension for a brief period. Not sure what it means but it gives me some hope trying to attain some level of control. My frequency seemed to be in the 2000 to 4000 range. Thx for your video. It’s been hell for the past 30 years of living with tinnitus.
I find any thing I do - tensing / opening jaw etc, just makes it worse!

16000 that is insane! I suffered with a perforated eardrum a few times in my left ear and had glue ear with gromits as a child. My tinnitus hasn’t stopped for almost three years.

You high end people don’t have hearing loss, if you could hear those frequencies still, so that’s not a usual sort of tinnitus and maybe should be investigated for cause. TMJ, neck pathology etc. Could be a chiropractor could fix you, but don’t let them go ‘cracking’ your neck , there’s a risk of vascular tearing when they do that. Talk to them about that and what they intend to do to help you. I got this from CZcams video about non hearing loss tinnitus, and another about the risk of neck cracking, and put it together!

I've had tinnitus my whole life. I thought for a long time, that it was just something everyone heard.
Mine sets at around 12k, it goes louder as I get tired or stressed out, the more I drink alcohol the louder it gets.
I actually focus on it when meditating, I don't see it as an issue in my life, I think it kinda keeps my head in tune. I embrace it. I am a singer and I see it like a tuning fork in my head. I know it vary a lot from person to person,
My mom has severe tinnitus, more like a loud ringing bell, which made her miserable for a long time. it started when she was in her late 30s after being traumatised by constant treats from her ex husband, constantly calling her and continuous death treats. Now she copes with tinnitus a lot better, by accepting it and not focusing on it as a bad thing.

Great way to see what im experiencing with your scale. Mine is in my right ear and its between 4000-8000hz then when i rest my head on my pillow at night i hear my heart beating in my right ear... i wish i could SLEEP.

Great video. My ears have different tinnitus pitch. 4000 Hz on left and close to 6000 on right to mask the sounds.
8000Hz was the spot. Stronger in my left ear. I'm 68. It all started a year after I recovered from a very bad case of COVID-19. I had the Pfizer 1 and 2 and booster shots.

Thank you for that. I’m at about 8000hz. Your list of concerns….changing sounds, yes. Severe anxiety, yes. Disrupts sleep, yes. I can also feel it, not just hear it. Been to different ENTs, chiropractors, acupuncturists, orthopedic surgeon (maybe it was pinched nerve in my neck?) even rheumatologist. No help.
Same everyone I go to tells me I’m normal when I’m clearly not

Wow. I have had Tinnitus since I was mid way through the US Navy. Didn't really think about it as my brain kind of got used to it. But at nearly 52 years old now, I hear it all the time, particularly in quiter environments. During watching the video, my ability to hear the tone dropped off at about 4500Hz, both ears and I could not hear anything at all above around 7800-8000Hz...interesting way to find your frequency range of Tinnitus...
My tinnitus is at somewhere 8000-10000Hz. It's hard to tell exactly because it not just a simple continous high buzzing but also some hissing or something (not my blood pressure or blood flowing, it's clearly a "phantom sound").
By the way my tinnitus doesn't bother me. When I was young kid I thought everybody has that buzzing sound in their heads 😅

I'm the same too. I remember it as a child, I could sit in the car (the quietest place i remember) and that's when I'd hear the ring. And the clock ticking (why did that car have a clock that ticked???) The ring made me wonder while I'd wait for my mum to get to the car. I thought it was just a normal sound.
I have tinnitus at the moment, and the tone almost matched perfectly at 8000!
I've had tinnitus for many, many years and my doctor asked me how I deal with it and my reply was, "I ignore it" and I still do. I forgot about the point of this video because I got distracted how it was freaking out my cats. Congratulations for keeping your video short and to the point because that so unusual on CZcams.

I was finally able to identify the frequency by listening to this - it is around 6kHz. Also, as another commenter noted, listening to this temporarily caused my tinnitus to stop for a few moments.
David. As I'm sure you're aware, there is no cure for this. There are some folks that believe you can "cancel" the noise you hear through the "interference" principle. Yes, you can add sound to sound and produce silence through this proven method.
Problem is, the annoying noise we hear is generated in our brain, and therefore not a real sound. I am sorry it is this way, but when you think it is cancelled in some meaningful permanent way you will be disappointed. I really hope the research into the nerve damage that is probably the root cause of this malady makes some real progress so these millions of sufferers can get some relief.

Changes frequency. On a scale of 1-10, it stays about a 4. Never goes away. When it’s bad, it’s an 11. So loud, it hurts.
Even with a fan & sound machine running, it can keep me awake.

Wow this is exactly me too. The same frequency and everything. In my left ear too. Sometimes I can't always tell because it's so loud in my head. The doctor said my ears are perfect too. I'm only 35 so I'm not too thrilled about dealing with this forever. My doctor says that quitting smoking is the only way to resolve it. But it's terrible. It driving me crazy. It never stops.
Many thanks for sharing. Mine is 8.0-8.5k (can't hear anything past 12k). I've had tinnitus for around 10 years - took my daughter to a concert and the girl behind us screamed right next to my ear (been living with a jet engine inside my head ever since). Became progressively worse and is now distracting and causing issues with concentration, sleep etc (I played in a rock band for several years but have now stopped). Nothing seems to help. Getting worse lately (ear pain and mild jaw injury on same side). Local ENT specialist knows less about Tinnitus than I do so not much help (he said don't stop playing in the band but wear musician's ear plugs - 12 months later when I told him that made it worse, he said, ok, stop playing in the band). Whoever comes up with a cure will become a billionaire.
Around 12000, I can stop my tinnitus for some seconds thanks to this video.

I've got the same frequency tinnitus as you, just a little higher!! in my left ear.. it sort of disappeared but came back the last couple of months. I started getting it in 2020.
Interesting video. I have had this issue for at least 30 years probably longer. I woud say I am around the 6000-6500Hz and have this issue 24/7. It goes quiet after about 8500Hz. I had one day a few months ago where it was clear for most of a day. It stood out as this is the frst time I can remember it being silent. I just put up with it but that one day I was clear was really nice. Mine seems to be right ear only.
Somewhere between 3000-5000 Hz is what mine "sounds" like. I've had bad tinnitus issues since coming home from Vietnam in 1969. Mine can be, and usually is, a steady high-pitched tone, but sometimes it "sounds" like I'm in an aviary and there are masses of birds chirping. Both are bothersome. Thanks for the video Matthew. Just a side note, I ordered new Phonak Lumity hearing aids yesterday. They should be here around the first of the year. Hopefully they will be an improvement over the Starkey Evolve AIs I have been using.

Mine started almost immediately after 2nd Astra shot last year. Bells Palsy, tinnitus in the right ear and now both. Right is about 8000, and left a little lower. Doc obviously said pure coincidence!

I think it is listed as one of the possible side effects, if only we had known, so sorry, I know how awful it is. Stay strong, I have found deep breathing exercises help, audio books, singing regardless of how tone deaf I am!!! It releases good feelings inside.....
@@LA-go6pp Yes, asked my doctor in Thailand for a report just to link the dates together. Obviously the doctor will not say it was the cause. But I have a record at least of when it started. Along with the facial paralysis at the same time. I see there are more reports of similar issues. Seems I was quite lucky! But now I have 3 sounds. A middle sound which is like the volume being tuned up and down constantly.
i run a fan 100% of the time, and don't notice it as bad anymore.
My tinnitus seem to have a Hz of 68-69 as my standard one that I hear all the time, and around 4K when I get the one that attacks me sometimes and almost paralizes me for a few seconds..Nice to have heard them here so I could have my wife listen to them and know how they sound like.
Very interesting! The sound volume drops to almost nothing at 4000Hz then picks back up again before trailing off at 8000Hz, maybe my ears or maybe my headphones.
It's hard to tell but I think my tinnitus has a main frequency around that 4000Hz quiet zone.
EDIT: Looks like my frequency is 6K to 7K on further exploration.
I do audio work part time. Was at the AES conference in NY last Wed. A monitor engineer for bands mentioned he had someone like that who could not hear about 4k so for his mixing of their in ear monitors for the band he had to increase that frequency to the player. In the real world, a specifically tuned hearing aid to boost that small frequency range can give you more natural hearing in those frequencies.
Mine was at about 4000hz. I was finally able to get my wife to understand what I go through on a daily basis after I let hear the frequency range through headphones. Now she understands why I have a hard time hearing her when she talks low or mumbles and has her head turned away from me and why the tv is turned up at times. Thank you for this video!
That's an awesome "excuse"!!... Joking... I have similar issues which is why I tend to watch peoples lips when they are talking to me... not really "reading" lips, but gives me visual clues...

My tinnitus is constant, around 8kHz. It's fairly quiet and most noticeable at quiet times such as when trying to sleep. I play quiet ambient music at night to give my mind something else to give attention to.
This is very similar to my experience. Mine is just above 8khz and started after contracting Covid 2 years ago. I run a sound machine or fan at night to distract my brain from the tinnitus.

Very interesting. My tinnitus is the pulsatile "cicada" variety. The recording disappeared just before 8,000 Hz and resumed shortly thereafter. It started disappearing again around 12,000 and things got pretty quiet just before 16,000. It also shifted from side to side a bit after it passed 8,000 Hz before centering again.

After 8.000 until the end of the test I couldn't hear any difference between my tinnitus and the sound of the video , I could not believe it but I try stopping the video and this is when I realised hoe loud I hear my tinnitus that until it went to the loudest I didnt feel any difference, which is crazy. I did not even realize I had this, I am at around 15-16K... I have always heard constant ringing, I thought every one did LOL... I only notice it when I pay attention to it.. Luckily it has never bothered me... but I can see how it might be very annoying if you constantly hear it, or pay attention to it. Thanks for the video! It's fun to get to your frequency and not hear it on that test!
Started with cannon fire in 69. At first it sounded liked a radio station under the signal you tuned in. Sounding distent and not making any sence of sounding words I could make out. Now I liken it to crickets, on a summer night next to a 40 acre corn field.
I keep a radio and TV on and keep busy. The more my mind thinks on what I am into at the moment, push the tinnitus away from thought. 500-1000Hz

I believe I’ve had it for about three years now. I just noticed one day when sitting in my chair and reading that both ears were ringing, and they’ve never stopped. Went to ear doc; had hearing test. Was told I “have some hearing loss in my left ear” which is barely noticeable for me. But…my ears are RINGAAAIING!!😵 what does that - what does that hearing test do for that??!! An-solutely NOTHing!! The young Dr. was NO help to me, but she got paid😄!

You might try completely avoiding LED lighting for a time. The conversion to LEDs began in earnest in 2017 and was extensive by 2020. You, like me, may be very susceptible to tinnitus from LED lights.

@@bouxesas2046 The tinnitus caused by LED lights is the result of the 120 hertz ripple frequency in the lights. Computers operate on DC voltage and use a different refresh rate. Typically they have no ripple. Some TVs on the other hand use a 120 hertz screen rate. Worse, older LED TVs adjusted brightness by introducing interlaced black screens.
The ripple occurs because of the cheap simple AC to DC power conversion circuits used by the lights. That creates an AC ripple on the DC power at twice the mains frequency. In the U.S. all of North America, a lot of South America, Taiwan, and half of Japan and a few others that is at 120 hz (twice 60); and in Europe and most of the rest of the world that is at 100 hertz (twice 50 hz).
Almost all devices use the 452 nm blue emitters used in almost all LED lights. There are rare exceptions, like the SORAA Be Healthy lights, which used 415 nm emitters, and studio lights that usually use 474 nm. All of these except the 415 nm based lights strongly bleach the retina, and strongly disrupt the sleep cycle. The bleaching leads to macular degeneration and blindness. The disruption of the sleep cycle leads to breast, prostate and intestinal cancers, and increased rates of heart disease, diabetes, depression, suicide and other diseases.
My tinnitus is somewhere around the 440 Hz range, which is actually the same pitch as the internationally recognised A440 (or simply A4) pitch. I also occasionally hear the same sound as crickets make and first thought I had one in my ear, but it's again a part of the tinnitus. It does drive me bonkers at times.
PS: Somewhere around the 8000 Hz I lose the sound, no matter if I turn the volume to full.

Mine is noise induced, from playing and listening to loud electric guitar, and being in close proximity to cymbols. I feel the frequencies are between 2k & 3k. I used bluetooth streaming into Paradise P90s, with the volume on very low to compare the sounds. I'm a regular contributor on your Hearing Tracker forum, which is fantastic. Thank you.
Edit: I just noticed, after reading some replies, that at around 3.5k, I couldn't hear the tone, but also couldn't hear the tinnitus. It may be psychological though.
Between 8 & 10k. I’m 73 and have had it since I was in my teens. Big fun.
It's hard to tell, but I think my tinnitus is close to 8000 Hz. I can describe it as a thin and very light sound. Like a tiny needle, if the needle could be a sound. I hear it 24/7, but I sometimes forget about it for a few seconds when I'm talking or doing something. Gladly I sleep well at night. I always use relaxing videos when going to sleep. I was doing that before I got tinnitus.
I agree! I've had Tinnitus since I was maybe 4-5. Mine starts to sound 'familiar' at around 8-10kHz, but right up at 13-14kHz is how it "feels" in my head. Like you said, it's like the point of a needle, that's just slowly scratching away on a blackboard (like a constant record) in the background, rather than something being drilled into your head.
This is a bit of a strange one, but when I used to have a CRT TV (yeah, I'm old), the sound of the 'whine'; about 15kHz, from the transformer would cause my tinnitus to warble... Obviously, I can't hear 15kHz anymore, but I could easily tell if someone left a TV on in their house because it sounded like "binaural beats"!
Just before 12000 for me. On top of that I'll get phantom tones on occasion. Sometimes clenching can increase volume, not always though. I was on M1 Army Tank that has a turbine engine. Between it running and firing the main gun, my hearing is toast.

I've been to a doctor at the hospital but he said there was nothing there and treated me as though I was just after compensation and a nurse came out after me and apologized about what happened. I just treat it as part of my life now. Mine is in my left ear and at 8000hz. It was amazing when the tone matched and the tinnitus disappeared.

Hi Matthew! My tinnitus is a combination of many frequencies. But the most severe is 15.000Hz this one it feels like is piercing my brain. I have it for 3 months now. Im looking forward to get use to it because right now seems very loud

It's really bizzare but I think mine is at the height of my hearing range being around 16,000hz+. I can still hear to 20,000hz too. I always guessed my tinnitus wasn't from hearing loss, but from my jaw. It started happening when my wisdom teeth were coming in. My dentist still says that's not the reason for my tinittus but I think it is. Moving my jaw makes it louder and even quieter sometimes.

@@zetti9 Mine is in the 8 - 8500 range then stops. Mine becomes louder when i move my jaw as well. I have had a broken jaw and tons of dental work. I can't really recall when i started noticing the tinnitus. Quite a few years ago. My hearing is otherwise generally fine as well. It has gotten noticeably louder with two separate sinus infections and stayed louder.
Sailing in the same boat. I developed tinnitus right after a wisdom tooth dental surgery and it’s related to moving of jaw. My hearing range is similar to yours

Thanks for your channel. Currently my tinnitis really bothers me more than it has in the past, especialy when the pulsing starts. Interesting to see a lot of people clocked in at around 8000 Hz and it was the same for me. I couldn't hear anything beyond 8000 or wasn't able to tell the sounds apart from my tinnitus. I'm having a hearing test
in a couple of weeks and am keen to see what the outcome will be.
The video was all silent at 11k and up but my tinnitus never changed.
