@4one14 the problem is everyone is putting focus on "rescuing" pets instead of people. animals don't need rescuing, there's no dogs or cats in the streets. imagine having a one month old child mauled by dogs and you have no choice but to live in a cheap apt building with dogs as neighbors / lunging at you as you get out of the elevator / growling at you as you try to walk down the hallway

    • @227
      @227 Před 3 lety +24

@@vasectomyfail442 Had a traumatic animal incident, I take it? Animals suffer out there on the streets (where yes, they also exist) like anyone else because short-sighted people who see them as property get bored and dump them in the middle of nowhere. Even then, most of them are amazing and totally non-violent. And even the ones who don't trust people eventually warm up after being shown a little love. It's not all Cujo out there.
Taking care of people is important. Taking care of animals is also important. It's not an either-or thing.

Bullshyt...there was a woman with 6 children that was on the street & she refused to sale her big beautiful king curso dogs(she had 2). She didn't even have proper leashes for them. They were very aggressive & protective of her boys. She was evicted from the extended stay hotel behind my job...the police had to remove her & her kids. She walked up to my job and I let her 4 smallest boys sit in my office to get out of the cold, because the oldest 2 had to stay outside with the dogs. I would've given them a ride when I left work, but she wouldn't leave the dogs...she rather her children freeze. She ended up getting an Uber for her & thr 4 smallest boys to a "tricks" house about 15miles away...and she left the older 2 boys out there with the dogs...they were to walk to the "tricks" house because the uber driver also wouldn't let those animals in her car. She told me the boys are used to fending for themselves. She prioritized those dogs over her children. She was an utter disgrace for a mother.
I really cannot stand that bytch.
I have a dog, but you better believe if I am about to be homeless & am not going to force my dog to live in that condition. Thats selfish. These are selfish people. Let the dog have a home.
Let the children have stability. They need to take care of themselves.
Its not resonable to stay on the street, starving, and melting or freezing in the elements. They use those animals as scapegoats...I bet if it came down to it & they had to choose between their drug of choice & their animal the drugs would win out everytime. If they really gave a damn about those animals or themselves they would get their shyt together so that they could take care of them properly

      I have a few more:
      1. People drink in shelters. Sometimes the rule isn't enforced.
      2. I was assigned a Case Worker. Who falsified documents, saying I wasn't disabled.
(I was. And when I tried to tell him that, he got mad at me.)
      3. No time or space to have any peace and quiet.
(Woke-up too early at 3 am. Tried to relax in another room. And a resident came-in and slammed the lights on.)
(Every time I tried to turn them off, he came back into the room and turned them back on.)
I just got fed-up, and yelled at him. And he called me a "p***** a** b****!"
Staff came in, because they were concerned. I just told them "I'm not putting up with this! I want a discharge!"
Ironically, I was the more well-liked resident at that shelter.
      For obvious reasons.

@@emuriddle9364 there are plenty of homes. Some cities have a 30%-50% owned vacancy rate (investments). Various loopholes make it worthwhile to keep rents higher and units vacant rather than dropping rents. If HALF the churches adopted one homeless person, they'd all have a home. Rentals are consolidating into fewer companies and those companies are well placed in city/state gov'ts. There's a million reasons why homelessness is systemic and growing. It's not an individual problem anymore - not with the numbers we're seeing now.

He said that back in the day people that are homeless would be eaten by wild animals because they are weak. I am no longer with him. Not an empathetic bone in his body. They are human beings. Working with individuals who had experienced homelessness (Veterans) will all tell you the same thing, it become demoralizing and similar to jail you learn to "adjust to your environment." I would say it takes two full years of being stably housed before all of those behaviors or defense mechanism fall away. It makes me worry that the same problems here in SoCal, will pop up in Michigan but, the minium wage or "cost of living isn't gonna keep up at all.

Now that be said some falls on California state govt. to allow it to happen.
