  • Next stop on our tour of the Kathmandu Valley are key sites for both Buddhists and Hindus!
    We start with Nepal's most important Hindu temple: Pashupatinath.
    Although we are not allowed to enter the temple, we are impressed by the atmosphere we can experience here.
    A short walk takes us to Nepal's largest stupa: Boudhananath.
    We visit this stupa during Losar, the Tibetan New Year, which is particularly colourful - all the people are dressed in their best clothes.
    Enjoy this one and... be kind, always!

    Aside from the beauty and heritage of Kathmandu, what impresses me is the presentation of your video! There are no unnecessary cuts or fancy edits; it's very simple, raw, and makes me feel like I'm actually in Kathmandu while watching it!

    Nepali Buddhism is different from Chinese ones.Also there are not all Tibetans but mostly Nepali like Sherpas,different cultures and traditions but retain some similarities.

    Third-class tourists in Nepal, often comprising individuals who are homeless or unable to afford living in their own countries, come to Nepal seeking a lower cost of living. However, I am convinced that such tourists have a detrimental impact on the country's economy.

    Hi A Flaneur's Quest, just wanted to apologize on the fault of the Nepalese/Pashupatinath government. Being a Nepalese I was unaware to this day that you would have to pay to enter Pashupatinath and not even be able to see the main area. They should make up their mind on either people having to pay and see the whole thing or just walk along designated areas for free.
    Although I personally do not believe that our place of worship needs to be secluded from foreigners, I can somewhat sympathize with my governments decision as Pashupatinath is held as the religious pillar of Nepal and is sacred to the Nepalese beyond words can articulate and they wouldn't want any rules to bent at such holy place. But it is still utterly silly to invite guests to our mandir, charge them money for it and send them without even seeing a glimpse of what's inside. I hope this issue gets solved the next time you are here.

    • @AFlaneursQuest
      @AFlaneursQuest  Před 3 měsíci

      No need to apologise, just a tad odd one has to pay an entrance fee to be denied acces...

      I am from the generational Buddhist family and Nepali as well. I am a native of Kathmandu and 5th generational local of Kathmandu. We are descendants Tibeto Burmese and Mongoloid race. Our ancestors came from Tibet to foothills of Nepal around 10th or 11th century and settled here. We all practice Vajrayana Buddhism which is also known as Tibetan Buddhism. It is the same roots.
      I think you have a problem with the Tibetan people and that's what I assume from your post. If you do not contain knowledge then please be more specific and quit being racist.
      Tibetans has strong ties with the natives of Kathmandu. The relation between people of Kathmandu and Tibetans was established since the old days.
