- The intention was to drive quietly to the Indian border, so we were surprised to discover what there was to see around Tansen, Palpa.
The nature in this area certainly deserves a mention, a beautiful green rolling landscape around the deep valley of the Kali Gandaki!
We drove around for a couple of days, visiting Rani Mahal, Nepal's Taj Mahal, before heading on to Ridi Bazar and finishing in Tansen, a cosy but oh-so-crowded mountain town!

Who are we?
We’re An and Yves, a Belgian couple who share a passion for travel en adventure.
Over the years we took a couple of gap years on different occasions and right now we're travelling the hippie trail, which started on January 1 2023!

With our van we're pretty limited in Nepal, also driving to the West would mean we would have to backtrack all the way back to Central Nepal to criss into India since we can't use the western border to exit Nepal...

great videos - love the content. Nepal is now definitely on the list to visit. Do you feel it's safe to leave the van while you go hiking - do you think you could leave it parked up for a few days?
No problem to leave your van alone when you're on a one day hike. If you would consider longer treks, I would recommend checking in in a hotel and leave your van on their guarded parking lot!
Enjoy as much as you can and have a great time to you . But while driving auto, do not remember the autosnel weg of Belgium.
Looking forward to a proper highway once we leave Nepal 😉!
Ranimahal is beautiful from the outside but not worth a visit. Sad to see such a beautiful building being wasted. Also, I've never heard of a temple being closed for non-Hindu? Looks like a language barrier there. Wish you guys a safe drive to Tansen and Lumbini. I was hoping you guys would go to Ghandruk to see the mountains, it's hit and miss but when you do it's a rewarding feeling anyway looking forward to your next vlog xx
Correct, Rani Mahal has a lot of potential, but the surroundings make up for it!
A lot of Hindu temples are off limits for non-Hindus, unfortunately...

Road to Rani Mahal was in a pretty good condition, the road from Ridi back to Palpa on the other hand...

First, Please rate to the Nepal tour in term of safe, friendly peoples for other tourist who are thinking to visit Nepal near future.
Second as you mentioned that many hindu temple are not open for non hindu peoples are ridiculous and Sorry for it.
None of god has discrimination between peoples but stupid peoples makes it, Sorry for that too.

We always felt 100% safe while travelling in Nepal, even when we camped in nature!
And the people... that's probably one of the main reasons people keep coming back to Nepal, words fail me to describe the friendliness and hospitality of the Nepali people!
Nepalese people as well as hindhu are open then Muslims. If you wanna visit I side the hindhu temple then change your religion. Other do not blame to the hindhu silent people.
