I miss this game so much. All original content and fun mechanics. I was there when Arwic was sieged, destroyed and rebuilt with walls. Loved going to the mossy fort outside of hebian-to and the lugian citadel outside of qalabar. Fort teth was great fun too.I was one of the OG players from 99 when it released and played until turbine killed the servers.
@@ian2372 the emulator.. and content on the server ‘dekarutide’ is very interesting. It pulled me in for at least a few 6-month long stretches.. They released a hc mode, and a bunch of custom content that was only in the 2005 era and before.. so old arwic, and no skill check for doing tinkering. Anyways, yeah this is one of those games I can play for hours on end..
Massive world is right, massively multiplayer maybe not quite as much these days. On a more serious note though, it did have grand ambitions and successes that modern MMORPGs could definitely take notes from. Good times.

The official server shutdown but there's been a group of players that have tediously recreated and restarted the servers for free because one of the developers leaked to them a lot of the code thank God so it can still be played and there are still several people playing it. just not thousands and thousands and thousands like it was when it was new. at one time this was the biggest MMO ever and in my opinion is still the best nobody has done it better than this game since then

Totally. Yeah. Definitely not massively multiplayer anymore. Minimal Multiplayer RPG.
