it's a late one bc im in Montreal + timezones are confusing 😡don't forget that the first 100 people to use code ELLBATDEAL will get 60% off of Incogni using this link !! incogni.com/ellbatdeal
yay we are happy to have you in Canada :)
You always look good girl, but at the end you were a queen!!! Since you are in Montréal, if you need French to English translation, I'm in Québec city and can help. Don't forget to get a poutine, a bagel and a smoked meat sandwich ;). Don't go too hard on maple sirup, we've got the real stuff here ;)!
hope you have a great time here in Montreal and get some poutine from a belle province , try canned maple syrup, and get a bagel from any bakery ! Bonne chance mon amie
Welcome to Montreal! Hope you are having a great time here.
Oh my, you're super nearby! Have some bagels and I hope you have fun! If you have time to check out the biodome and the botanical gardens, do that!
I was skeptical about the darker warm dye, but the as soon as they started rinsing it, your complexion and eyes looked so much brighter and more awake. So impressed.
I think a lighter hair colour like balayage would suit her even more. sunkissed
right???
I love your new look!!
Yeah, I feel like when you get a darker or colorful color done that you don’t look as good without makeup, so going lighter in a natural color makes more sense, especially since she mentioned not being good at eye makeup, but it’s still quite pretty either way. :)
She looked very washed out with that new colour until they put a ton of makeup on her.
I am so sorry to hear that the horrible translator behaved so badly and nearly ruined your entire lovely experience. I'm happy that the women at the salon helped and supported you and even touched up the makeup after your cry. I hope he didn't ruin the experience completely ♡
I dont urderstand, what he did???
@@victoriapianco9417 she explains in a comment in her colour analysis video. scroll until you find it
@@victoriapianco9417 I don't understand either, it was so confusing
I was trying to guess, it just seems like she may have had personal beauty concerns she'd rather discuss in private and the translator went ham.@@victoriapianco9417
@@victoriapianco9417 He was basically an extremely hostile scammer. I'll try to summarize: 1) He lied about being a videographer, almost ruining the first shoot. She had to salvage the situation using footage that the other videographer had taken. 2) He lied about being a translator, which forced her to rely on her own Korean language skills during the second and third shoots. 3) He tried to demand she make him videographer for the second and third shoot after contracts were already completed and they were 1/3rd of the way through the job. 4) He kept trying to put himself in front of the camera during filming. 5) He refused to leave when asked even though his services were no longer needed. 6) In the middle of the salon makeover he started trying to demand that she pay him right then and there, which is not how payment was supposed to work according to their contract. 7) When she asked if they could talk about it after, he began screaming at her and berating her in front of everyone. 8) They went outside to discuss it and he continued screaming at her, and then escalated to trying to threaten and intimidate her into giving him more money than what was contractually agreed upon. He told her he would "ruin her" if she didn't meet his demands. 9) When she refused, he went inside the salon and harassed all of the employees and slandered her in Korean to them. He only left after she gave in and wrote a new contract for him on the spot. She then paid him in full for his basically-nonexistant translation services, and paid him a reduced fee for the unusuable footage he had filmed during the first shoot. And that's in addition to paying for all of his food and drink while he was on set. I kind of wish she hadn't paid him anything tbh, because now he's going to think he can just do this to other people and they'll pay him regardless of performance or if he treats them really badly.
this all suits you SO WELL 🥹❤️
i adore u
soph and ellbat collab when 👀💕
my two faves !
Yessss❤
Never apologize for someone else's vile behavior. You look amazing.
Sorry, but I have to disagree with 1.4K likes. The apology is appropriate in the sense that when I am a guest, and I bring someone with me who wasn’t directly invited, then I am responsible for them, from the perspective of the host and the other guests. If the guest has a problem or a request, it’s me that is supposed to handle it on their behalf. If the guest is _causing_ a problem- again, me owning the _problem_ that it’s causing for the host. Apologizing is owning the problem, not owning their behavior. In fact, in owning the problem, apologizing is implicitly _disowning the behavior._
It’s the concept of vouching. When I vouch for someone, explicitly or implicitly, that person’s behavior reflects on me and my ability to judge character. Being responsible for that awful man’s presence, it was absolutely @Ellbat’s place and duty to remove him from the salon (even if she needed assistance to do so); she appropriately took responsibility for making sure that happened.
An apology is not the same thing as admitting fault, something many people misunderstand about apologies that can lead to a lot of bitterness in relationships. It it always about acknowledging harm or hurt, and acknowledging one’s role in it having happened. There can be any degree of fault acknowledged as part of the apology depending on the facts and circumstances, but that’s in the nuances of the apology. (It is even sometimes socially appropriate to over-admit fault for reasons of face-saving, but that’s Advanced Apology Theory, and my comment is already too long.)
@@KM-pm6qewell said
@@KM-pm6qe the guy wasn't a "guest" he was a hired translator. She shouldn't apologize for someone's lack of professionalism. The fact that you felt the need to write a damn essay on why you should apologize for someone else's behavior really goes to show your character.
@@KM-pm6qe I agree with you 100%
@@callmestumps6954 It's called RESPECT, GOOD MANNERS and ETIQUETTE.
The colors from the color analysis really were spot on! Jenny House did an amazing job on your makeover. You look fabulous!
there are a few issues with this video that I've only just noticed including missing "after" pictures at the very end :( sorry about that! I'll post them on my IG for anyone who's curious !!
Lol it's okay! that is totally something I'd do 😭
thanks bestie !! its so odd bc u can even hear the "pop" sound effects, and some of the pics of me and the hair/makeup artists are still there?? like WHERE did they go lmao@@Rain_boot
@Ellbat Editing and audio is sometimes on a whole different plane istg. I once lost like 90% of my footage and only had the audio, most painful thing. Sneaky little files 😭
I'm so sorry about what happened to you with that translator, I hope everything goes well with that. You're new hair suits you so well and the makeup made you look so fresh and beautiful ! I think the colour analysis was worth it.
I kind of want an insane translator deep cut....
Me too, because what the hell!!!
Same!
Right?? Expose the jerk
Right... I need the details
Same🙈
As someone who is training to be a professional makeup artist, I love how they did your makeup. It is so light and accentuates your natural beauty. I also love how they were so hygienic while doing your makeup.
I am so glad everything in the end worked out and that the staff was so supportive! The look turned out absolutely gorgeous and it looks like you had such a wonderful time! :)
They nailed the hair color for your skin tone. It is perfect. I would take pictures of it out in natural light and inside light, as well as closeup pictures of the boxes with the names. Put them all in a folder so you can show future hairdressers what you would like.
You have such charming kitties! I hope they're doing well 💙💛
You look amazing and I hope the translator didn't ruin your experience because it looked so fun! You shouldn't have to apologies for other peoples actions but it sounds like you handled it the best you could and good for the JennyHouse staff for being so understanding (though I'm sure with all the VIP's they have they probably have even more crazy stories!)
Hold on...what was his excuse for being such a rude ass? That's awful. You look beautiful Ellebat ❤
She explained the whole thing under a comment under the colour analysis video
@@holyhellinheaven I looked for the comment and it would be much easier if someone who knows could just answer instead of all this gatekeeping!
@@glcnornes3783 It's under a comment by @Noffilus on the first video. Only took me 10 seconds to find it, no one is gatekeeping it's a public comment. It's a lot to summarize, the man just became belligerent for no reason. Really best to read her original comment if you want details.
@@glcnornes3783 here's the comment copy pasted:
OK this is a VERY long story but I am sure others will ask: I hired him as a translator for 2 shoots and a videographer for 1 shoot before coming to Korea. I had never met him. He claimed to be a professional videographer, yet after he sent me the footage from the very first shoot, that was clearly not the case. the footage was so bad i couldn't use any of it. I thankfully hired 2 videographers for that specific shoot so had enough footage to save the video, but he could've ruined the whole shoot because he lied about his experience and abilities. That evening, he sent me awful texts demanding that he be made the videographer on all of my shoots despite the fact that his footage was bad. I refused by saying that he was hired as a translator for those shoots, which he knew. I didn't want to insult him and so I didn't (at this point) mention how he clearly lied about his videography experience as I still had 2 other shoots with him and wanted to be professional. He continued to be rude. i wanted to tell him not to come to the remaining shoots but at such late notice (1 day), i couldn't get another translator. He apologised once i met him at Cocory. I tried to be professional and tell him that it was fine and to forget about it. However, during the shoot, he repeatedly put himself in front of the camera for no valid reason (I believe for exposure) and the translation help that he provided was terrible. He barely communicated any of what Hee Joo said, often simplifying it to "that looks good" or "that's bad" instead of communicating her insight and so I had to rely on my own Korean.
On the final shoot the next day, he continued to offer very poor translation. Thankfully, they had an in-house translator who really was wonderful and helped out. After a few hours I asked him to leave as he was no longer needed. He refused to leave and demanded to be paid on the spot, despite us still being in the middle of filming a video. When i reminded him that the contract said he needed to submit an invoice for the hours worked, it needed to be checked/approved and paid within 7 days, he began to scream at me in front of everyone in the salon. I asked him to come outside where he continued screaming at me and recording me on his phone, demanding to be paid more money than he was owed. He then began calling me a scammer and threatening to "ruin me" when i refused. i tried to explain that he needed to calm down and leave as he was disturbing everyone and being unprofessional; he then went back inside to harass the staff and slander me in korean. This was particularly embarrassing as I had been invited to film there as a guest to make the video - I was not a paying client and this left me mortified. after an hour of him screaming, i just started crying because i didn't know what to do and told the videographer that we should call the police. he eventually left after i wrote a new on-paper contract with him, but he ruined the shoot and i had to formally apologise to everyone in the salon because of his behaviour. He was a 34 year old man. I later talked to a lawyer about whether or not I should pay him given that he ruined two shoots etc. After their advice, I paid him in full for his translation services (which were very bad) and despite the lawyer saying I didn't need to pay him for the videography work as it was unusable - I still offered to pay him a reduced fee for his time. This is on top of paying for all his food and drink whilst on set. Unbelievably, he attempted several times to negotiate a higher rate for his videography work, despite his behaviour and the awful result of his footage. I did not offer him a higher rate, but still paid the original reduce rate I offered and then I blocked him. Genuinely one of the most horrifying professional experiences I've ever had because I felt absolutely cornered and trapped. very scary and unhinged man
(i also love dark academia fashion and colour schemes so was very chuffed with my deep winter secondary colour!!)
@@manguy4227thank you so much for being so kind enough in getting us the story. I don’t get why people have to be so rude and not explain in short what happened.😒🥰
Really love what they've done to your hair! It really suits you! ❤
thank u toby !!
I'm so glad the staff were supportive during your awful experience with that man (who doesn't even deserve to be called a translator tbh based on how little he helped you), and I'm sorry you had to go through that :( but clearly they're wonderful people and they do amazing word because the new hair color and makeup suited you SO well! I wasn't sure about the darker hair color at first, but it's made your eyes and skin pop so well and look incredible. despite the rollercoaster of this experience, I'm glad that you got to feel beautiful bc you always have been, and this was just the icing on an already lovely cake 🧡
You look just as gorgeous as before, and this new color make your eyes pop. You stunning! I just wish you haven't gone through such a bad experience with the translator, and it's very clear that the staff treated you really well because you seemed comfortable with them even with that terrible guy around.
I love the way Korean people do their make up. It takes the beauty that they have and just highlights it more. How can understated become such a statement. Love it. Oh and you look amazing and confident.
I’m a hairstylist and I must say you look gorgeous with that color!! The makeup also looks incredible on you even though that awful man made you cry. Props to the Jennyhouse team ❤
That makeover is amazing!
I mean, this really emphasises how much people on TV, films and famous people in general benefit from having professionals handle their appearance.
Ellbat is always looking her best in her videos, and she is gorgeous, but in this video she looks like an actress just walking out of a k-drama.
Loved it❤
The colour they chose for your hair is stunning! It really enhances your natural beauty
my words exactly! she looks stunning! really couldnt believe the difference, her hair looked so full too!
The hair color really did liven up your face so much. You're practically glowing, and especially after the makeup too.
These colors are spot on. Wow! Your whole face is so much brighter just from the hair color but the makeup really accentuates it. Also, love to see women supporting women
The hair! The beautiful (and subtle) make-up! You look absolutely radiant! Well done!
This colour looks amazing on you! And the makeup is also very lovely- I'm so glad you had such beautiful humans around to support you whilst you had to deal with all that stress ❤
Omg these colours look INCREDIBLE on you I'm obsessed!!! The hair colour and makeup just make your features pop and you look so great.
I totally get what you're saying about the eyeliner/eyeshadow thing. I also feel like I can't do eyeliner (and tbh eye-makeup in general)-- I really suck at it and this might sound dumb but whenever I try, I honestly feel upset bc I look like a child who raided my mum's makeup and did some face-painting (I am 20 years old😭). I just can't get it right. So I can only imagine how great it feels to have professional makeup artists do your eyeliner the way you've always wanted❤❤
I'm so sorry that translator was so horrible 😭
I have to pause the video to post that that hair colour looks so insanely fantastic on you! It's so flattering, it's like it put makeup on you. You look younger and healthier with higher contrast. The colour analysis was spot on with that dye colour. Slightly red-brown shades are not a go-to when people get their hair coloured brown. Usually people go for a honey brown, light ash brown, true auburn, chestnut, etc. In this case, somehow this new hair colour looks more natural on you than your natural hair. I think it was the right move to choose the darker colour to contrast your bright skin, but it's not too dark. It's perfect.
I just stumbled upon this video but i have to say what an amazing transformation! You look like a goddess! The makeup and hair is perfect for you in form and color! I never realized how far a simple color consultation can go and now i'm thinking of getting one done myself!
Damn, your hair really looks amazing!!! And the makeup is so subtle, but you still look like you’re glowing
Oh my gosh! Absolutely STUNNING! That colour looks perfect on you! Love the natural makeup too it just makes your natural beauty pop
You look amazing! The colors give you a vibrant healthy look I love ittttt
Hey Elle! I'm glad you pointed out that faces where blurred under request however there was a couple of spots where the edit was missed!!
Love seeing you enjoying yourself
Lol I'm messy. Why was the translator going off?
I'd like to know too
Ellbat replied to a comment about it on her colour theory video: basically, she had hired him as a videographer for one shoot and as translator for two following shoots. He lied about his experience and skill as a videographer, which became immediately apparent after the first shoot. The footage was so bad she couldn’t use any of it, but thankfully she had hired two videographers for that shoot so was still able to make the video with footage from the other videographer.
Following that shoot he sent her lots of aggressive text messages demanding to be be videographer for her two following shoots and demanding to be paid more than their initial contract. She didn’t say anything about his poor quality video work but convinced him to remain as translator as she couldn’t find another translator at such short notice and just needed things to stay professional.
During the next shooting he kept getting in front of the camera unnecessarily and during the salon visit he was not translating properly only giving very short and simplified answers, to the point that Ellbat asked him to leave as he wasn’t really helping at all. That’s when he threw a tantrum and yelled at her demanding to be paid right now and demanding a higher rate than their contract etc he refused to leave and made a big scene, which require her to formally apologise to the staff and customers in the salon, and even coerced her into writing a new paper contract before he left.
There’s more in her comment but that’s the summary basically of what she said.
@@unistudent4002That's beyond fucked up. I wondered why in the color analysis video the guy was giving no detail in his translations. I hope she files charges, especially being that he made her sign some other document. Smh, the entitlement of lying about your experience, then being demanded to be paid more than expected for that experience when you've been caught in your lie. Smmfh
@@unistudent4002whao…some people have problems in this world.
That was actually an incredible transformation 🙌 what a lovely place
You're so, SO beautiful as you are! The color matches were so good though! They just highlighted your beauty. 👏🏼

The color for your hair is perfection!! I love how professional they were and you look refreshed!
Going to the salon for me always feels like such a self-pampering moment.. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Not only does the make over looks great, so does your outfit!! Everything ties together so nicely and overall you look bright and happy 😊 ❤
Absolutely stunning! Love the new hair colour on you, and the makeup was so well done!
You look amazing! I love how supportive the folks at Jenny House are.
Your new hair colour is beautiful and brightens up your facial features. Your reaction to the reveal reminded me of the princess diaries makeover moment. Very cute!
you look SO GORGEOUS!!!!!! literally so so stunning - the makeover was amazing - im also so sorry about your experience with the translator and im so glad youre safe and hope you're okay
Your color analysis was spot on, your makeover is flawless! Love how much everything makes your eyes and skin pop! What a cool experience (minus nutso translator), thanks bring us a long for the ride!
You look absolutely beautiful, I think the colours really suit you, the whole vibe just brings your natural features into focus. Now I want to try a Korean style makeover! 😅
I honestly keep coming back to this video and skipping forwards because I can’t get over how stunning she looks at the end!
You look amazing! Hope there's a wardrobe video too! And so sorry to hear about the translator!!!! I can't believe he thought it was acceptable to behave that way.
Did I miss something in the video? Why was he shouting at his own client?
You look stunning ❤ the warmer colours suite you so so well. And much love to the staff there for supporting you so well and take care of this unnecessary and unpleasant situation. So sorry you had to go through this bad part. But look at you glowing at the end of this transformation ❤ the really did an awesome job giving you the best natural look possible ❤
I love the new look!!! i cant wait to see what outfits you put together with the new look

absolutely LOVE your hair color - the make-up is beautiful, understated and so natural looking - amazing talent! I am so happy to hear that they were so supportive given the situation with your translator, too.
I love the after! They did such an amazing job!!
I absolutely adore the makeup artist’s outfit! I would never have thought to wear a one shoulder top over a t-shirt, but you’d better be sure I’ll be trying it! I’m so glad they took care of you after that horrible incident with the translator, too. ❤
Thanks for this neat makeover video Ellbat!
I love it all. The color hair looks so good on you and the subtle looking makeup looks so good on you. ❤
Both the hair and makeup colors they did are stunning on you! Suits you so well!
The color analysis definitely didn’t let you down. I’ve always been skeptical of if but seeing someone implement it beyond clothing really helps me see it in action and understand it better. I’m SO sorry that translator lost it on you like that. You didn’t do anything wrong and that would be so scary and upsetting. I’m so glad the salon workers made the effort to try and calm you down and cheer you up ❤
Your hair color is fabulous! It really really suits you and your eye color just pops now, you are stunning!
