    Thank you so much for the great information you provide! I've was diagnosed with lupus in 2007 and have been, trying so many different diets to reduce my symptoms and nothing had worked. Most recently I was hospitalized due to high blood pressure caused by my prednisone 215/144 to be exact! Scared to death and desperate I found and bought your book about a little over a month ago. I have since been trying to stick to the suggested foods, and avoid all the foods on your avoid list (struggling with the water but I've definetly increased my intake). It's been 4 weeks and I feel great! I did my blood work up last week and I was amazed I lowered my c-reactive protein from 28mg/L to 0.8mg/L and I went from being on my way for a biopsy which I was strongly avoiding to a perfect urinalysis! My doctor was stunned but I haven't let her in on the secret yet lol! Thanks again, you are truly a God send, may you and your works continued to be blessed ❤

    My first thoughts about pain are cytokine imbalances. Might I say that I had auto-immune symptoms but was never tested in the past and cut out meat, dairy, and eggs from my diet and ate a lot of beans/legumes, whole grains, kale, and Silk brand smoothies that used to exist in the supermarket When I did that my symptoms went away but I was judged and told that I was crazy by doctors and family. When I got pregnant I was told to eat dairy and meat by my pre-natal doctor even though I had concerns about my previous mysterious symptoms in the past. Now post birth of my daughter I am now having complications of the same problems and just a week ago tested ANA speckled positive, SSA, and LA anticoagulant positive. My MCTD, glucose and SLE antibodies are on the rise but not high enough to be positive. So tell me meat, dairy, and eggs are not a problem. My 23andMe shows no genetic risks yet I have these problems. In fact, I have Sardinian/Southern European genetics which is supposed to be super healthy! So gross that I even let peer pressure convince me that this stuff is normal to eat. The meat, dairy, and eggs gotta go forever!

    Hi Dr Goldner. You're awesome. I'm a lupus patient from 2012 on 400mg plaquenil and 20mg prednisone with other supplements. Then I was put on azathioprine which I had to stop because it was affecting my liver and kidney. I've been following you for some time. Overtime maybe last 2-3 years I've made gradual changes in my diet like cutting out all animal products, dairy, oil, sugar, flour, pasta, grains and refined foods. From the time I cut out meat I haven't had any protein in my urine which I was getting every time I did my bloodworks. Also, since cutting out dairy as well I haven't had excruciating menstrual cramps. I dreaded my cycle every month. Thank God pain is a thing of the past. Now it comes and I don't even know. Good stuff.
    Anyway, for breakfast I had large bowls of a variety of local fruits in season and pumpkin and breadfruit porridge with bananas, dates, flax and chia seeds. YUMMY. For lunch, I had ground provisions, beans/ peas with a large salad. For dinner, I'd probably have a fruit. I drink lots of water throughout the day. I did that for months and I was able to taper the prednisone to 7.5mg.
    Until Oct 2018, I told my husband I will do large salads only for lunch. I did it for a month and decided to do smoothies for breakfast as well. Miraculously, 3 full glasses of smoothies kept me til lunch. And the large salads kept me til dinner. Sometimes, I ate not because I was hungry but just because I started losing weight. To me it wasn't good because I'm not big. Anyway, with support from my husband to not worry about it, I brushed the thought aside because I was seeing results. I was able to taper to 2.5mg prednisone with no pain. I thank God I haven't had pain or swollen joints since Jan 2018 when I decided to have a slice of plain cake. Worst mistake ever but I haven't had junk food since.
    In addition to the change in diet is having support. Apart from God, my greatest support has been my husband who jumped on board with the salads only for lunch and also doing the green smoothies for the 6 weeks with me. That's so unheard of and so cool. I sooo love this guy. Also, I exercise, get 8 hours of sleep most days in a ventilated room and spend quality time with God for strength.
    In November 2018, my wonderful husband gifted me with a vitamix and an omega juicer. I started the 6 week protocol right away. I do 1pound of a variety of greens. Half pound for breakfast and the other half for lunch. And I do vegetables and fruit juices for dinner. I was able to taper to 1.25mg with no pain. I will be ending week 5 tomorrow and looking forward to week 6. Right now as I write, today is 6 days since I haven't taken prednisone and I feel normal. I give God all the praise. Oh! I forgot to mention I stopped the plaquenil late November because it was making my eyes very waxy. I just never replenished when it finished.
    I will still continue the green smoothies at the end of the 6 weeks when I reincorporate plant based foods into my diet. It feels good not to be popping tablets every morning. I am on my way to reversing lupus and healing myself with the Power of God by eating the way He recommended originally. Looking forward to my bloodworks after.
    With all that said I'd like to encourage every lupus patient to give the 6 week green smoothie protocol a try. All you have to lose is just money spent on vegetables and a blender. So what?!

I suffer from gastritis and gallstones...sometimes it's hard for my body to digest raw food, do you have any suggestions for this? Will this way of eating heal the gastritis if I push through the bloating and indigestion? Unfortunately chicken and eggs were the two foods that caused my stomach zero distress, but I just cant ever go back to eating that, it goes against everything I believe good health to be. I believe it's because it caused zero fermentation during digestion. What are your thoughts on this? Thank u.

My current fav is 2 big leaves of chard, 2 big handfuls of baby spinach, 1 Tbs pumpkin seeds, 1/2 cup plant milk, 2 cups water, 2/3 of a gala Apple, and one frozen banana. I often leave out the milk. Andie Brit it’s OK to be bloated, it will happen from all the fiber and the water bulking up your intestines. Taking a probiotic can help, sometimes a prebiotic can help as well, but in general I’m not too worried about a bit of bloat as long as you wake up with it gone in the morning. Usually after a few weeks the food baby gets much better.

    What do you mean beans don't have nutritional value?!? Beans are high in fiber, protein, folate, iron, potassium and magnesium. Maybe sprouting beans is slightly more Nutritional but I don't understand how you can say beans don't have any nutritional value. I love living a WFPBNO life and enjoy smoothies and all the raw fruits and veggies. But I also love baked potatoes, cooked beans, veggies and grains. Do I prevent healing when I eat these foods?!?

    • @BrookeGoldnerMD
      @BrookeGoldnerMD  Před 5 lety +12

      Jessa Meyer Great question. I don’t mean that they actually have zero nutritional value, I’m talking about rapid healing from inflammatory illnesses, in which case beans don’t stimulate cellular repair and improve immune function the way that raw vegetables do.

    • @BrookeGoldnerMD
      @BrookeGoldnerMD  Před 5 lety +4

      I just saw the second part of your question. If you are not getting full recovery, I would do a period of only the healing foods until you are healthy and then add them back for maintenance. Some people can get good results with some cooked foods like those on board, but others only get full recovery without the cooked veggies, beans and grains.
