Even recently Dr. Neal Barnard said to "be careful with avocados" if you're trying to lose weight. Hello, doctor Brooke. I've just started drinking green smoothies on my own and have added one BANANA to the mix, but it gave me HEARTBURN. Don't have a clue why this happens, since it's not supposed to hurt the stomach. Can you clear this out for me?. Big thanks in advance.
not a doctor ofc, but this happened a lot to me when i would eat high volumes of raw fruit or veg, in whole/smoothie/or blended form. i found that i can't eat it on an empty stomach or i get heart burn. eating some whole fruit or whole vegetables before my smoothie gets rid of it for me. also drinking the smoothie slowly.

I buy the CAVA brand at Whole Foods. It has tahini in it but no oils of any kind. It’s delicious and I usually add a little lemon juice, a touch of water, and some ground Flax seeds. They have a website.🙌🏼

I don't know if you received an answer or not, what I do know is this: If you have High Speed Blender like a Vitamix, you just dump them in with Dr Brooks protocol,, BUT if using a regular Blender she suggests using a coffee grinder to grind them 1st, then add to protocol and blend- hope that helps!
Does your program help with Lyme disease? My 17 year old niece has paralysis in her arm and some in her leg. Just wanting something to help her. She also suffers from seizures. Not sold on the diagnosis, but what do I know. :-)
@@anealin it is a half cup of whole flaxseeds. If you have a vitamix blender, vita mix blender’s are higher power than some and they pulverize the flaxseeds completely. If your blender does not pulverize the whole flaxseeds, then I think you have to run it longer if you have a less powerful blender or as Brooke says, you can use 3 tablespoons of flaxseed oil instead or a half cup of Chia seeds.

Most eat the whole avocado daily, not a 5th, as recommended.

If you use a vitamix you can grind them in the smoothie.

I just make my own. And I don't really care for regular hummus but I found a recipe online for barbecue hummus and it's fantastic.

Hi I use 1/4 cup chia seeds and 2 tablespoons flaxseed oil In smoothie. Works well for me.

A handful. I use 1/2 cup.
