Every. Single. Day! Freddie has been deceased for 30 years now, and every single day I hear his voice: in a commercial, on the radio, in a show or a movie. People don’t even realize HOW much they love Queen and Freddie. It blows my mind!

When the Bohemian Rhapsody movie came out my mom said "I never even heard of Queen" and I responded with STOMP STOMP CLAP STOMP STOMP CLAP and she started signing We will rock you. Then every time a commercial came out that had a Queen song in it I pointed it out. She now loves Freddie Mercury.

He repeated this again in 2011
But was now claiming the dislike was out of concern which he hadn't mentioned before.
Freddie wasnt living a big party life at the time as he was early 80s
But he had been introduced to ny clubs brian wouldn't be very aware of that
In the 70s he left a long term relationship with mary for David who he was with for 3 years

Wow. 1979, he was so young here. My senior year of college. There were so many sides of Freddie. I always thought this had a Show Tune feel to it. Something you would see in a Broadway play with funky costumes and glee dancers running around. There are so many sides to Freddie. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
As far as not liking Queen or Freddie, yes there are people that don’t like either. But not because of the music or the performance. You have to understand they started in the 70s. Older folks were NOT open minded about gender. See we didn’t care back then. But my cousin, only four years older, was appalled by Queen and Freddie. We listened to radio. Race, gender, clothes, etc. We didn’t see any of it on the radio. We only heard that incredible music. That of course changed in the 80s with MTV, but by then we loved it so much, we didn’t care if they had three heads.
We just loved the music. We appreciated the talent. First time we actually SAW Queen in any type of performance was 1985 LIVE AID concert performance. They didn’t tour the US a lot.

I remember the day well, we had to push my dad's car up a steep muddy hill to get decent radio reception to be able to listen. Gorgeous hot July day, even in the UK. No internet then, of course!

They were very versatile and different, that’s what’s makes them unique imo. I think they made many fans through their huge catalogue, there’s a song in it for anybody. From I want to break free to Innuendo, from Brighton Rock to Save me, and so on. Hope to see more, can’t wait. Much bless and love to you!

It's great to know there is another generation of Queen fans. I am getting on in age now as I saw them in concert in the late 70S but Queen can always get me up and moving to their unique sound. Even their ballads make you want to join in and sing with them and that's what drove Freddie was to hear the crowd sing back to him. Keep up with the good work. Would still love to see 'It's A Hard Life' and watch your reaction to the costumes in the video. There are a few good Freddie solo songs too.

I always assumed it was simply as an association with the cause of Freddie Mercury's death rather than the song itself which Brian wrote about ending his marriage to be with Anita Dobson. Roger actually wrote a song with AIDS (and other potentially fatal diseases) in mind, called Say It's Not True, some years after Freddie died when they were working with Paul Rodgers. Somewhat lesser known since it was the first Queen + iteration like they do these days with Adam Lambert, but a beautiful song in its own right.

Heard them live twice (yes...I'm old). Freddy Mercury had the purest 4 octave range and impeccable vocal fluidity I have ever heard from a "rock vocalist". For more jaw dropping moments check out his purely operatic efforts. Most awesome!!!

"I am a sex machine ready to reload like an atom bomb
About to oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, EXPLODE!" with those harmonies on "explode" and also that "ooh, ooh, ooooh!" was awesome. Great reaction, I knew ya'll would love it!

Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara to British Indian parents on the island of Zanzibar. He was known as 'Fred' rather than Farrokh even before the family came to London, and signed himself as Fred Bulsara on letters until 1970, when he changed his name to Mercury.

For a little bit of a different Queen sound I recommend Dragon Attack, live in Montreal. It's got a great groove to it. Still one of the best concerts I ever saw. Freddie was the king of the stage.
