I know this video is almost a year old but, you did a awesome job with this video. I'm not mechanically inclined but, after watching this video I almost felt confident enough to remove my rearend. Thanks for this video 😀
Glad the video helped. I was actually nervous about doing it too but turned out to be pretty simple. I am actually going to do it again soon. Have to redo the gears.....Now that is a job I am struggling with but going to try it again and hopefully get it right this time. Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.
4th Gen. Gold right here!
Thanks.
And the dual ram air Intake kit I have fiber glass hood gonna cut the hood scoop opening bigger inside of hood for more air flow
Good Job. Thanks for sharing.
Well would have went much smoother if I didn't remove the torque arm so early.lol.Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.
After blowing the original and a replacement rear I bought Yukon gears 3:42 upped from the original 3:23 and you can feel the performance. Many miles later it is still good 😊
That's good to hear.I am going from 3:23 to 3:90.I should have bought Yukon gears but I am cheap or poor so I bought the cheap Richmond gears and regretting it.Very noisey.I am actually taking it back apart now and everything looks like it should be right.Good pattern and all the bearing preload is the same as it was when I put it together and is within spec.
You should make a video of the msd 2 step
Oh I don't actually have an MSD 2 Step. They are cool but not really needed for a car like mine.
Is there a way to keep the brakes hooked up to the car while taking out the rear end?
No I don't think so. But it really isn't that big of a job. Before I did it for the first time I really didn't want to do it but I have had it out 3 or 4 times now and it is pretty easy to do. And afterwards it doesn't take long to bleed the brakes.
Is brake fluid going to leak from the system while you have the diff out of the car?
I put plugs on all the connections but it will lose a little and it will get air in the system so you do need to bleed the brakes when you get it back together but that pretty easy to do.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 What do you use for plugs? I'm considering removing my diff for a gear change as well. I don't want to lose too much fluid to gravity and risk needing to bleed the abs or the master cylinder.
I had a bunch of vacume caps laying around so I used them..But you could use anything you have laying around that will stop it from leaking. But you don't need to worry you won't lose much.I have done this several times without issue. They say you need to bleed all 4 corners and I don't even do that.I only bleed the rear brakes and never had a problem.I will send you a link to what I mean by vacume caps.

to anyone removing the stock 7.6 rear....just throw it away, seriously. Even stock power levels can snap the rear end. I highly recommend a 9" rear like Quick Performance, or Strange Engineering S60. It's also worth noting, rebuilding the stocker will cost $1k+ so the better option is a new 9".
While I agree with you some of us have to make do with what we have until the money is there for a replacement. With a manual I would say if the 1/4 mile is your thing then that should be your first mod.But with an automatic you can get by for awhile.
Only problem is those upgrades start around $3500.
I’m about to buy 3.73
3:73 are a good choice.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 what did you go with
@@Legend22- I went with 3:90 gears.Which unfortunately I have struggled with trying to get them quiet.Be a couple videos coming to explain the issues I am having.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 I wanted 4.56 but maybe a little much 🤣
@@LSxMotorsports2021 can you make a video on how to use hp tuner do I need a laptop or can I use my computer
And I got the speed true duals
So did you get it installed yet?If so how do you like the sound?
Not yet in the box
Now that you said to do the gears befor the exhaust I gotta do that and I got btr red hot cam kit
Sounds like you're going to have a great working car when you get it finished.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 thanks I appreciate your videos helps me out a lot
