How to Maintain your Hop Bines | DIY Hops

  • Prepping my neglected hop bines for the 2022 growing season. A quick overview of what I did to start my bines this year.

    Recommended Fixes:
    -Use a natural colored mulch if using mulch
    -Pay attention to soil pH, neutral is best
    -Do this earlier in the season

    When I plant my hops I am going to follow the party time methods. That lake is beautiful, looks like a great spot to catch some yellow perch.

    A good post on your hops. Ive been growing Cascade & Fuggle hops for a number of years, I start mine growing on twine ,then I let them grow up into the trees. My other area is a trellis, its enjoyable watching them grow, cheers !

      Last year was horrible, I only ended up with a few. If I could get 10oz I would be happy. Usually it takes a few years to get a good harvest, but mine still may be too shaded. Cheers!
