  • With the Sucess of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch, many people are questioning whether a new entry will be released any time soon. Today, let's take a look at the main point by critics and then discuss why I believe we'll see a new game soon.

    That’s true. The existence of Splatoon 3 ruins the argument that Mario Kart 9 can’t come to the Switch.

    • @Patrick19833
      @Patrick19833 Před 3 lety

      Not really. Splatoon is a whole different series. So far there hasn't been a console since the first game on the SNES with two Mario Kart games. It always been one Mario Kart game per console. If Nintendo continues that pattern, I won't expect it to come out on the Switch.

    At first I was skeptical and thought it was going to be another video in the argument of when Mario kart 9 will release, but once I saw the Splatoon 2/3 comparison, that’s when I realized that this is actually possible!! Lets hope for a Mario kart 9 sometime in the future!

    I hope they don’t do an “ultimate” with MK9 and remake ever level and add every cart and character from every MK game. I see a lot of people asking for that but I feel like it would be a bloated mess with less attention put into making each level a masterpiece. Making “ultimate” games backs Nintendo into a corner because it’s hard to market a sequel to a game they already advertised as the “ultimate” version. Nintendo could be a lot smarter with MK9 and do a game around the size of MK8DX but with new maps, characters, vehicles, etc. and a campaign story mode with other additions to foster an active competitive community

    • @Kardino
      @Kardino  Před 3 lety +1

      You make a good point! Once you go the “ultimate” route with something, it’s hard to see how you could make a sequel. And I think we’re all ready for some fresh ideas, too.

      Actually, the Ultimate idea is what SHOULD happen.
      After playing the same Mario Kart 8 courses and characters for nearly eight years, the large amount of variety would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm waiting for over 6 years now for an actual new entry. I think this is a great video because it's a positive one yet it isn't exaggeratedly optimistic.
    For my favorite tracks, they're both from MK Super Circuit -- Cheep Cheep Island and Broken Pier. Those two tracks are underrated and are both from the same underrated game, so I think these specific tracks should be given a new life in Mario Kart 9!

    • @Kardino

      I’d love to see more remakes of Super Circuit and SNES tracks! The ones in MK8 were awesome and I could definitely see them having fun with a ghost track

    My idea is simple, but what if instead of a new title we get a remake? It may sound bad, but think with me, what if we get a remake from mario kart super circuit?? Just look at what they did with ribbon road and cheese land, then aply all that to tracks like sky garden and sunset wilds! And even remake some of the trash ones like broken pier, snow land, Yoshi's desert and lakeside park!

    The Splatoon 3 argument doesn't hold the same weight. Splatoon 2 I believe is at #8 in terms of sales when it comes to the Top 10 best selling switch games. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is #1 and has stayed at number 1 for a long time. Just because Splatoon 3 was announced as a sequel to game on the bottom half of the Switch's Top 10 list. Doesn't mean Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would be getting the same treatment. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a runaway success, they're not going to make a Mario Kart 9 because you're impatient. This video was put up in April 2021 and it is now September 2021 and no new Mario Kart news at all.
    The next time you'll see a Mario Kart 9 is whenever Nintendo's next system comes out.

    • @Kardino
      @Kardino  Před 2 lety

      But why would Nintendo not want to make a sequel? If they had an ongoing income source like GTA Online, that would make more sense. But with MK8, once someone buys the game, that’s it. They don’t get any more money from that customer. But If they can make another Mario Kart game for the system, a lot of people would double dip. Plus, MK8 would still continue to sell on the side.

    • @MGMVE
      @MGMVE Před 2 lety

      @@Kardino I don't think Nintendo is worried about that, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is gonna sell regardless. There is no incentive for Nintendo to make a Mario Kart 9 when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had sold over 37m units. We have the holidays coming up you better believe there are still people who are getting a Switch and now buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a result. The higher the numbers are for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe the least likely we will see any kind of new Mario Kart game.
      The only thing I can see Nintendo might do is some DLC for MK8D, the same way they did for 8. I wouldn't mind it if we got new tracks, characters, karts. In addition, Nintendo would probably do a Mario Kart game for their new system whenever that comes, Just gotta wait.
