Ridge Racer 7 is literally one of THE best arcade racers to ever be released, and the fact that this series is basically dead in the water now makes me so damn sad. :(
Same I also tried unbounded too it was really badly executed even so bad the first Ridge racer I played it was also a psone title game did a way better job playing actually on psone was not only my first time on Ridge racer it was also what got me into gaming with stationary home entertainment consoles and what got me into the handheld section of gaming was owning a pink game boy color and a metallic blue advance sp afterwards I still have handhelds I am owning a psp 2004 and a vita 2016
Go play Drift Spirits, they got RR cars like Kamata RC410.

@@Cookiebreedchannel Unbounded was enjoyable for what it was, but it certainly did not deserve the Ridge Racer name. If it were under a different name/was a spin-off, then maybe it would have been a little more acceptable.
RR4 is better, the only RR game that had a complete Story

I agree. And if you get an overtake 13 event on those track that has a small roads, then it's gonna be quite hard to win (because small roads with a lot of cars is gonna be interesting)
After the last video, I didn't realize how much editing matters. I enjoy this editing style more than the last one, this one has similar style to Eden's editing which shows kuru's progression and excitement playing the game
javi_nitro is a beast, but I have high hopes for Spooncat aswell, a new member of the pepega editors

I really hate the constant jump cut. Its annoying and hurt my eyes. When kuru is talking and there was a silent, the editor cuts it away and make it feel like he was talking continuously which is very awkward. Whenever theres nothing that happens on stream, they cut it out and the jump cut becomes very annoying. I hate how they edit the video now

Would love to see you would say about Ridge Racer Type 4, it's plot development and car variety. One of the true gems of the series, and early racing games in general.

Hands down the MOST underrated racing series of all time, even though the game has historical impact. My experience of the series was RR6 on the 360 and 7 was that but with customization and love them both.
Series is criminally underrated. Great soundtrack and amazing graphics for its time. Surprisingly deep gameplay with ultimate charge, and drifting mechanics. A shame the series is dead.
And the appreciation of arcade racing games is having a hard time catching up to being tolerated again in today's gaming world, it's a shame.
unless if they want to do something to the market like launching Ace Combat, Tekken, Soul Calibur and Ridge Racer 8 at same time...
I will put this game in my list with the title "Most Satisfying Drifting Physics of all time".

Seeing Kuru struggle on Island Circle ain't his fault, that's just a troublesome track.
In Ridge Racer 6 each car had distinct engine sound. The Meltfire sounded like V10 F1 and the Hijack sounded like a monster truck, but in RR7 they replace every car with a lazy airplane sound.
...and yes I was so in love with Ridge Racer that what I name my profile after.
to me, every car sounded like a rotary with same pitch but different distortion.

He was dueling with a special machines though, on his 2nd part in twitch. Also, I don't think it was a quite rubberband, if they getting more faster sometimes then maybe they're using nitrous (because their timing is REALLY precise)

@@Crinale13 Pac man? What was the hard part from Pac man? You just need to get the most highest top speed car and an auto charge nitrous. If you do that corretcly then he is DEAD.
Btw, myself not even watch fully of that 2nd part. But it feels satisfiying when he was shocked racing against Terrajin (y'know, that rocket thingy) lol
It's too bad racing games of this kind are never appreciated again in today's gaming world. The least they could have done is bring this to PC instead of unbounded.
The arcade and simcade racers are making a pretty good comeback somehow, art of rally, hot shot racing, and grip, are pretty good places to start when it comes to the genres resurgence.

this game is one of or maybe the only one ps3 game that could reached 1080p natively not upscaled and consistently 60fps even when online play, its a well incredible ps3 games especially ps3 racing games not even Gran Turismo on ps3 could do it perfectly even more incredible this game was released at the early time when developer still couldn't maximized the ps3 because how complex the ps3 architecture is even sony first party studio like evolution with motorstorm have a hard time with it and it was from 3rd party developer

I don't think removing a racing line experience in this game was a thing. In fact you can still do some racing lines on a small corners, and when it comes to drifting you have to be very in of the corner (the AI was actually doing that aswell). Btw, just a lil story, I just finished this game yesterday though. And there was a also a little dlc which provide some new stickers, soundtrack(?), and UFRA special events, which basically a new bunch of events.
Just recently beat everything in this game. What a coincidence. Some of those last special races were a massive pain in the ass though. Wipeout hd collection for ps4 also has the formerly vita only 2048 as well as the ps3 games, so that's a really good deal for anyone who has a ps4

9:25 really liked the fact that they made the tv screen plays Ridge Racer 2 PSP intro video on loop in some tracks in Ridge Racer 7, that also goes for RRPSP video in RR6. such a nice detail.

You can get it on all of the playstations up to the PS3 (PSP included) or there is RIdge Racer slipstream on mobile if itâs still available. Iâd recommend either 4, 5, or 7.

Ridge Racer is one the greatest racing games of all starting with Type 4, so it should never die, we want the series to continue today so we are looking for 8 and up.

I ALWAYS loved this game back then. Had Ridge Racer 1 and 2 for the PSP but never 7 because we were dirt poor back then and couldnt afford the game, leave alone a Ps3. Finally got it when I was 14 and worked my first construction site jobs. Spent my first check instantly on a Ps3 and this game. I remember how fucking frustrating some Races were but I HAD to stick to hit lmao.
The only reason why I say this is because I got somehow excited seeing that this was uploaded on August 31st, which is my birthday, the day I got into Ridge Racer one back in 2011 :D

You can emulate Ridge Racer 7 on a PS3 emulator, only recently I beat it on PC, 60fps all the way through, super fun. :)

I'm Glad last year I bought This game The music and the mechanics Were Awesome and the gameplay is good.
We bought this game along with the PS3 when it launched in Europe back in 2007 and I didn't like it because it felt way too slippery for me and since then I've never touched it. Just a couple of weeks ago I decided to give this game another try because I was bored to death and I'm proud to say that I'm now at 100% completion with nothing left to beat. As soon as I got the hang of the drifting and boost mechanics I fell in love and I just kept playing for hours. Its also a real joy not having to deal with stupid micro-transactions and just being able to unlock everything in-game by just playing it.
I've really only played Ridge Racer DS, but it is a fun gameplay model.

Got mine for the PS3 as well and it's good kinda difficult to brake and turn too the graphics are nice also there's a mini game on menu as well you can turn off the mini game as well
The cars sound like some scuffed mix of an RX-7 and a 350Z without a muffler.

To the comment of unlearning the racing line while playing this game, it's still needed. You're a lot faster if you take the corners following the racing line especially on Mild cars that are meant to be less drifty than Dynamic and Standard. There's definitely a learning curve to it, but once you get it down and time the ultimate charges for consecutive boosts on the track, you're pretty much unstoppable.
Sucks that the game doesn't tell you some cars charge boost in different amounts after a boost is used, and that slower cars boost to higher speeds

Never played this one but I have played Ridge Racer Slipstream which is literary Ridge Racer 7 on mobile.
I have RR Slipstream too its similar but RR7 is much more difficult and RR7's gameplay is way faster and the drifting is also much more unforgiving than in RR Slipstream
Slipstream is kind of just a bad port of RR7/3D to mobile.

I remember that aswell, but tbh I didn't even remember ANYTHING from that game. There was also another mobile RR, I don't remember what it's called, but it's actually just a drifting gameplay (where you have to start and end the drift perfectly, but that's it. That's a whole game)

My first Ridge Racer was on the N64. I couldnât even read back then so I didnât get past having the first 5 cars (4 of them unlocked by default)
If your first RR was 64 then you really got a bad first impression of what this franchise is supposed to be.
