- Meeting up with Yorkshire legend Paul from Haze Outdoors I guide him to a few amazing secluded coastal locations where we enjoy some beautiful diving conditions. Fish, Crabs, Seaweeds and stunning scenery. As happens any time we meet - chaos ensues and obstacles are overcome. Then all finished off with a bro-mantic beach fire cookup. A big thank you to the guys at www.Spearfishing.co.uk for hooking Paul up with the kit he needed.
Pauls channel @HazeOutdoors is well worth a gander if you are into your bushcraft and dry Yorkshire wit. 😉

@@prasadajgaonkar145 tell your wife to take a shower then! 😂💀
Your channel is like meditation. Amazing vids and how to be in nature. Wishing you all the best. Not sure if you answer questions…. Have you ever done a night time snorkel?
Thank you, have a good week 👍
Watching you put the lobster back is one of the reasons I LOVE this channel. Above and beyond local ordinances and statutes, you do what's best for the ecosystem and go above and beyond in doing so. Cheers!
Simply doing what I feel is right. 😊🦞
Really is satisfying watching how much you respect and appreciate the beauty of our coastlines oceans and wildlife watching that lobster go back was amazing 👏
I am simply doing and living as I see is right. People may not agree and I may not get it right every time but I do my best. 😊💙
I honestly wouldn't have thought any less if you'd taken the big bugger, but the part of me that yearned to see him go back had an insanely happy moment when you said he was too big to keep. Well done sir!
Thrilled to see that big fella going back to populate the ocean with his genes!
Why don’t people like this get TV programs. Honestly, the most humble, information packed man I have every had the pleasure of watching. The love of nature, and respect is amazing.
You hit the nail on the head with the description. Thats why.
John is a legend when it involves the Eco System. Best channel I've found so far!!
I really appreciate that in addition to visually stunning and entertaining videos, you also take the time and effort to teach conservation and preservation of our natural resources. Love the videos!
Thank you. I am simply doing what I feel is right. Hopefully through our content others may adopt this was of thinking. 😊👍🏻🦞🎣
Thank you!THIS is so very beautiful in many ways.FROM THE FLOWERS TO THE UNDER SEA AMAZING BEAUTY AND THE COOKING AND EATING.A SPECIAL MOMENT FOR ME WAS when you release the enormous lobster❤️You bring me great joy💥💥💥
The best joy is joy you can share.
Sunday just isn’t Sunday without a Fish Locker adventure!
Amen. 😊👍🏻
Highly concur.
Paul looks like he enjoyed the whole experience. Always get hungry when you cook-up. Enjoyed all the flora names and that you used some edibles. The second dive had a lot of fish nurseries. Great video and bit of comedy with Paul :-D
Lots to see in the underwater shots. I’m really enjoying making these it’s just a shame the clarity is starting to get bad again. 🤷🏻♂️
Can I just say John the production on your diving video's is brilliant. The stunning wildlife and music works so well. best channel on CZcams love it
Thank you Billy, I do really love making the underwater videos. 😊👍🏻
🤿👍👏🦀🪼🦞😄🪸
John, you and Paul make quite the comedic duo. Brilliant! And stunning, inspirational videography with music accompaniment - gave me chills. And, as always, terrific conservation lessons! This is award-winning material here, folks.
Thank you very much Trevor. My aim is always to find a soundtrack that mirrors the mood and beauty of the underwater footage. I love watching it back. 😊👍🏻🦞
I just want to say thank you so much. I have a bad fear of deep and open water, watching underwater footage usually induces severe anxiety. I've been able to begin overcoming that a little at a time by watching your videos. Not only have I learned so much about the sea life and plants - but there is an oddly safe feeling you provide that makes the underwater footage less triggering for me.
Holly I am really thrilled if we have been able to help in any way. Well done and take care. 😊🦞
This has to be one of my favorite locations you’ve foraged. That water was phenomenally clear. What a sensational view too! I enjoyed your visitor. Y’all seem to get on well! 🦞
Thank you for returning that big male. He was a sight!
Thank you. We were blessed with very good conditions for this area. Take care Michelle and enjoy your day. 😊
@@TheFishLocker- John - in your discussion concerning tides and such, how much of your warm current is from the Gulf Stream? I know the Irish West Coast enjoys the warm influence but wondered how much it impacts your area.
I should mention, that your unending dedication to the preservation of marine life and sustainability of fishing never hit as hard as in this episode, as when you let go of the massive male lobster. That made your philosophy and message sound loud and clear to me! :)
Some people may not agree, I was simply doing what I felt was right. 😊🦞
Love the way you think of how important that lobster was for breeding stock. Like me with the bass. This is the way it should be done and teach people the right way. Stunning video.
I hope the message transfers across in our videos. 😊🦞
i had a college room mate who hunted. he was from rural pennsylvania. he didn't call it hunting, he would say we harvest. deer should be hunted for food. he totally despised trophy hunting. his reason was that trophy hunters aim to take out the big buck but that deer is in its prime. you lose that deer, you don't lose one, you lose many. he said we look for older deer. it might be a bit more gamey to us city slickers but when you grow up eating the stuff, that flavor is the flavor we know and love. he and his family probably never ate an ounce of processed food. he was no hick from the sticks. he was a commerce & engineering major.
Just started watching these type of videos of you diving and I’m falling in love with this kind of underwater footage it’s amazing see what it’s like out there and so peaceful
I love the underwater videos. 😊🦞💙
Oh my goodness. This is one of my top favorites of your videos, John. Stunningly beautiful. I hope you go back again and again for more filming. That would be a bucket list place for me, no doubt. And Paul, the model, he’s a trip. Sending Much love to you all. Thank you for sharing your world. Watching James grow up is a real pleasure. Now that I have found your brilliant channel, I hit like before even watching…wish there was a Love button to choose. ❤
As usual John, a delight - your music choices are always great too.
Thank you very much. It’s always really difficult picking a soundtrack.
Love when you two team up! It seems to always be a good adventure with good eating at the end. Thanks for taking us along.
The banter is strong 💪🏻😉
Thanx John and James, yet another brilliant video ❤ You never fail to keep me rooted to the TV after work!! Love everything you do ❤
Yet another fantastic video, brilliantly presented with such enthusiasm and knowledge. Enjoyment not only for the viewer, but also emanating from the presenters too.
John, you're videos only get better and better. I always look forward to the next one. Love what you are doing. I'm truly impressed. Thank you for what you share with the rest of us
Thank you very much. I love that we can post a wide range of content as we enjoy so much about the outdoors and all the while I feel/hope that I am learning to make better videos. 😊👍🏻
I just LOVE the collaboration videos with you and Paul. :) Keep them coming. You need to go camping with him!!!!!
We will see. Maybe we can do a bit of both. Forage/fish and camp.
Flora, fauna, forage and friendship, what more do you need, just fishing maybe, lovely video JL
Can’t forget the fishing 😉🎣
Seen so many of your videos but this is the first one that blew me away with the composition and music (not that the others are shabby!). I've casually snorkelled, swam and scuba'd at some beautiful tropical and Mediterranean locations around the world, but this is the first time in my life I've ever seen our own UK seas look so beautiful! Absolutely stunning footage and shows a such a contrast to see the sealife at "peace" in its own habitat😍Also seeing you take that monster Lobster, I was so happy to see you put him back and explain why. Great stuff as always.
Thank you very much. I am glad that you enjoyed the soundtrack with the underwater footage. I do enjoy it but it is a difficult one to create. Here is another of my favourites. czcams.com/video/kVZ2PorGzS8/video.html
What an absolute stunning place! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Any time bud. 😊👍🏻
Greetings from the Rocky Mountains of the US. I always love watching your vids with your knowledge and respect for the coasts and natural system/life. That is only highlighted in the first 12 minutes when you are stating how that MASSIVE lobster is “king of the reef…40 yr old….too important to the breeding stock…” to take/harvest as well as “don’t take all from one plant, take a little from a few places”…but take that invasive species! 100%!
Much love and respect to ya!
Hi Scott, I’m glad you are enjoying our videos mate. Some folks may not agree with how I do things but I simply do what I feel is right. I hope that our views and teaching of sustainability transfer across in the videos so that others can learn how to make less of an impact. Take care and have a wonderful day. 😊👍🏻🦞
You make all the time the right way 😊😊👍
Thank you. 😊
Thank you for the video and blurring out and skipping past the ‘despatching’ bits - genuinely appreciated 😄👍
That’s ok. There are quite a few people asking for videos on how to despatch but I thought this way it remains totally family appropriate 👍🏻🦀🦞
I really enjoy your video so much . I love the way you teach us everything you encounter in the sea i have learn so much , just by watching you. Thank you for sharing your videos .🙏😊
It is my pleasure Stephy, I am glad that you find the videos so informative. 😊🦞🦀
Stunning footage John, it was like being in a giant aquarium down there, so clear and so much to look at. Thank you for putting that big lobster back, I’m sure he would have made great eating but, better that he lives to make many more just like him.
Hazey, as always, funny as chuff, you two make a great double act. Fantastic, educational entertainment, THIS is the kind of stuff that should be on tv, instead of the garbage they pump out.
Paul and I do not fit with the political agenda of most mainstream TV channels mate. Also, we are young, white, English speaking, educated males. We don’t tick the right diversity boxes. It’s a sad truth but that is the world we live in. 🤷🏻♂️
@@TheFishLocker
Urm, ive been watching you for a while, im a little bit surprised by your comment, the ppl with the most/best opportunities to make it onto mainstream media are white males
That clarity is unbelievable!
Stunning wasn’t it. 😊👍🏻🦞
Greetings from Tennessee! I have to say, I love all of your content and I especially love your " underwater foraging" episodes. Keep up the great work and the best of fortunes to you and yours.
Thank you Tiffany and have a lovely day. 😊
I just love the content on this channel. John is so knowledgeable and has such great energy. I truly enjoy his strong but gentle demeanor. I also appreciate his responsible nature as a forager with his dedication to conservation, as well as his good natured humor but it is always family friendly. (I was cracking up at the "making baby sea gulls" comment). And I won't mind saying he is easy on the eyes...he is a "keeper", his wife is a lucky lady ;)
I read that comment to my wife and she just nodded knowingly. 😉 I am really glad to hear you enjoy the content and that we reach you on many levels. I hope the videos help people out and possibly educate about a sustainable way of doing things. Best wishes to you and your family and take care. 😊🦞💙
This channel is the best tourist advertisement for Cornwall. Zou have everything. The people, the sea and the land.
The Cornish Tourism board won't even reply to an email. They are useless.
Fair play putting that lobster back. He was a fantastic specimen.
Far too important for the breeding stock. A prime male like that has good genes. 👍🏻🦞
10:20 Wow - that's an absolute beast, good effort foraging!
Thank you. 😊👍🏻🦞
Fantastic !!!!
And very informative of the native & invasive varieties of plants on the coastline as well as the great knowledge & respect for nature & the ocean
If more people had this attitude there would be more than enough for every one to survive on.
Great attitude to take only what you can eat & no more
Great video’s
Always a pleasure to watch them.
I am simply sharing what I know and love doing. Hopefully by seeing how we do things others may adopt our approach to conservation and sustainability 😊🦞🦀
I miss Cornwall so much.
My mum moved there (Holywell bay, just outside of Newquay) & id go there alot. I loved it.
She passed away a few years ago.
She'd always wanted to live there, so I'm glad she got to live her final years in a place she loved. 💖.
It is a wonderful place to live. 😊
Hello from Atlanta, Georgia, America. I really enjoyed the video the waters there are so beautiful and the seafood looks delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Elise, is it our pleasure to share the video with you. 😊👍🏻🦞🦀
Incredible underwater footage! I was paddle boarding yesterday with manatees in Florida! The water is so full of life right now! Thank you for sharing!🏖😎
They are amazing aren’t they. I was surprised by how big Manattees are.
@@TheFishLocker That's why they are sea cows!😂 That is what some people here call them. They are large but very gentle creatures.
It looks so peaceful underwater and the lighting makes it look so pretty!! A nice video to watch and relax. Thanks for sharing! 🐠 🦀
I love snorkelling and diving like this. Such peach and beauty to be seen. 😊👍🏻
Combination of wild plants and ocean gives serenity. I had this very peaceful smile throughout the video
fair play, love the fact that you appreciate an old boy like that is crucial to the environment. anyone else woulda just had him and not thought twice.
I'm not just anyone. 😊
Hi john I would just like to say the quality of your videos your knowledge of the fishing and your foraging is 2nd to none keep up the good work and your catch and cook 🇬🇧👍
Thank you Trevor. Very high praise indeed. 😊🦀🦞

This area's natural beauty and Cornwall in general is only matched by your passion of seafood. Amazing shots.
I truly love the underwater footage we make. And what better place to make it? 💙
Nothing better after a days graft than settling down to watch one of your videos. Always fills me with positive vibes and empowers me to get out and enjoy our beautiful coastal treats. Keep up the good work John.
Glad to hear you enjoy the videos mate. 😊
It always touches me when you put back massive male or female like that 🥰
I truly believe there should be a lower and upper limit on what can be taken. These huge lobsters are great for the breeding stock with really strong genetics. 👍🏻🦞
@@TheFishLocker agreed. It only makes sense.
If the old lobster is so important, why, didn't you V-nodge him?
Thanks for this woderfull calming underwater video.
I didn’t have my clippers and didn’t want to hack at him with a dive knife.
I was glad to see you return the first lobster to the water. He was gorgeous! Like you said a true king of the reef.
Just doing what I felt was right. 😊
👉✊👈
Thanks for returning him home good man yourself huge respect for your respect for wild life!
Simply doing what I felt was right. 😊👍🏻
Hi John just wanted to let you know your videos have completely changed my life. Recently moved to Dorset along Chesil beach. I’ve been foraging and noticing things that you are finding. Can you advise anywhere along the Dorset coast that are good for coastal foraging I’m really hoping to find some nice crab and a lobster this year! I mainly have tried Lyme Regis. Any help greatly appreciated!
I am really glad to hear the videos have been helpful to you and it’s great that you’ve been getting out on the shore. Sadly people have proven before that they cannot be trusted to behave in a sustainable manner, so we cannot reveal locations.
Totally understandable it’s a shame that others have to ruin it for everyone else! Thank you for getting back to me though! Really appreciate it! I will continue my journey and hopefully be in luck :)
Never knew there were so many lobsters around the British coastline. Is there a limit to how many you can keep each day?
You need to speak to your local IFCA about your relevant byelaws. 😉👍🏻🦞🦀
Oh, those look so good. I asked my hubby what he ate today while I was at work. He said a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I said do you know what John had for a quick bite? LOL Just love watching your videos.
Thanks again John for another stunning underwater vid & cook up. Paul cracks me up, either losing his kit while snorkelling or forgetting kit from the van, just like me, He's a top bloke😃
Glad you enjoyed it Tim, he's a good laugh Paul. Look forward to filming with him again. 👍🏻
21:46 Am i right in thinking the exception to thus rule is problematic invasives like the three cornered leek? As little hope as there is to curb their spread, harvesting as much as you like is somewhat helpful?
*Edit* Literally answered my question 2 minutes later, should've been more patient 😂
I must have read your mind. 😉🤣
wow amazing day for the two of use's.. cheers
Thanks Jason. 😊👍🏻
Thank you John and you and family 👪 nice video mate

Simply amazing. Best dives ever. Made my heart race. You and Paul are a great team. In the second dive there was a school of little squiggly things swimming. What were they? Also the white things on the rock wall that looked like cotton balls. Such beauty. God bless, stay safe and well. Thanks once again for taking me along.
Thank you Sandra, the little fish were baby sandeels and the white balls were soft corals. Affectionately called dead man’s fingers. 🤣✋🏻

You were right John, the scenery was stunning & the diving conditions pretty much matched it with lovely water clarity, particularly at the first dive spot. Excellent clarity…I will eat/catch Lobbies all day long but am so glad you recognised that Olde Fella for what he is…I’ve been fortunate enough to see, and be learned by, others who will do it too; even when every gram of Shellfish is balanced against cost of gear && running a boat to earn their living…there are definitely sizes to keep and sizes to return; because you know you’ll be reaping the rewards in other visits of Grounds…Bravo 👏
That is the best way to explain these things to people sometimes. Look at it as a long term investment to be collected in later years. 😊🦞
Awww.. Thank you for returning the lobster to its hiding spot.❤️
