- William Claude Dukenfield (January 29, 1880 - December 25, 1946), better known as W. C. Fields, was an American comedian, actor, juggler and writer. Fields' comic persona was a misanthropic and hard-drinking egotist, who remained a sympathetic character despite his snarling contempt for dogs and children.
This is just a small collection of his great talent for comedy on all levels. His style of comedy was unique and traits of it can be found in modern day comedy. Al Bundy, Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin have a lot to owe to this guy.

WC was once asked what did he spend all the money he made from movies on? He replied, I spent half of it on gambling, booze and wild women......the other half i wasted :D
The man was pure comedic genius and there will never be another like him.
I`m 62 now, when I was a kid if I saw that a W.C. Fields movie was coming on The Late Show (TV Guide movie listing), or The Late Late Show, I would wait excited for 2 or 3 a.m. to catch it. My very favorite comedian OF ALL TIME. I still love WC to death!
W.C. Fields is pure comic genius. I laughed at his performance the first time I watched one of his movies on television when I about 8 years old. He still makes me laugh now at 50 something, a testament to his talent. No obscenities, just talent.
What a wonderful era to be a part of.
I always loved Carl LaFong and the bar bit about the 20 dollar bill. He was amazing.
I never knew how funny W.C Fields was until I got older. This man was a genius. I sure hope/pray that he will be rediscovered by future generations.
Sublime perfection. So many years after these were filmed, you still laugh out loud.
I love W.C Fields, he kills me every time I see him, a pure genius.
We'll never see this type of comedy again. Brilliant and timeless.
Been in love with these films for over 60 years, my father got me started at age three, it just keeps getting better. Thank you for all the great humor. My pops emulated this man's entire being. His friends called him W.C. Falstaff. Great stuff!
W. C. was and still is my favorite comedian. He was pure genius. He may be gone but he surely is not forgotten
"Don't strike that child!" "He's not gonna tell me I don't love 'im."
If you ever see one movie with W C Fields make sure that you see Its A Gift(1934)
Back at a time when actors and comedians had talent. All of these people, W C Fields , The Marx Brothers and many others are legendary. But not many ( if any ) of today’s so called stars will be remembered. Great video 👍👍👍
"Women are crazy about pets."
Pure comic genius of the highest caliber, forgive the pun.
I first discovered WC Fields in my teens 50 years ago, and he became something of a role model for me, intentionally or not. This explains a lot about my life in the ensuing decades.
Totally unique. A fine pyhsical & verbal comic-actor with an unforgettable voice & cadence to all his lines, yes, indeeeeed!
